I have not seen the movie yet, just a ton of trailers and specials about it, and I have a question to ask: In that famous scene in T2 where we see a human skull being crushed by the foot of a terminator robot, how can a human survive a punch from one of these machines? If the foot of a terminator can crush a skull, surely it's fist could go through a human with no problems, yet in all the previews I have seen, shows somebody being socked by a terminator and living through it. How?

That MIGHT make up for not knowing the whereabouts of Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay! (Maybe)!

In defense of Macross Plus, Mikimoto had the choice (I believe I read it in an interview) of doing the designs for Macross Plus OR Macross 7, and he chose Macross 7. Personally I wish he would have done both, and I believe that Hal said in the interview that in retrospect he should have gone with Macross Plus instead. That really would have been cool!!!

I hate to say this but, I think the Macross Frontier movie is going to be a let down. If all they do is edit the tv show into a 2-hour movie with a few new scenes then it truly would be a waste of their time and ours. Stop and think about DYRL. Can you imagine the Macross movie being the tv series re-edited, with a few new scenes? The exact same animation fans saw on tv being played on the big screen, instead of the newly drawn and re-designed movie we have? It would be a joke! I hope I'm wrong, however I don't have much hope for the big MacF movie. -

Then (besides making money) what's the point? Watching a movie for a few "new" scenes, is a waste of time! -
New Star Trek Movie In 2009..
aerocombatpilot replied to bandit29's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just saw the film in IMAX, and it was friggin awesome!!! Being an old trekkie (sigh), I was worried when I saw the first movie photos of the crew; they all looked like they belonged at a star trek convention! But after the trailers, and the movie reviews I got excited about Star Trek once again. I really enjoyed the "new" enterprise and it's crew. All the main players had their special moments and there were plenty of "old trek" references which was nice. I have to admit, I did not fully understand the whole "time-travel" storyline, and as much as I hate to admit this; old Spock being there felt like it was "forced" on the film. I got the same feeling about Kirk being in Generations, but that is my only nit-pick. The film was fantastic, and I can't wait for the next one!!! -
New Star Trek Movie In 2009..
aerocombatpilot replied to bandit29's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I agree wholeheartedly!!! DS9 had some of the best stories in all of Star Trek, however I did not like how Capt. Sisko ended up! As for the movie, I have not seen it yet, but I can say as a childhood Trek fan; I'M SOOO FRIGGIN HYPED!! I have not been this excited about Star Trek in a loooooooooooooooooooooong time! After First Contact (which was the best!) I lost intrest in the films. I tried to watch Enterprise (only because T'pol is sooo beautiful) however, when the writers put T'pol and Trip together; I left and never came back. The new film has renewed my intrest again in Star Trek; which is not a bad thing! -

I have to agree. Macross Plus was the last "sequel" to Macross in my mind. Mac 7 wasn't what I expected, and sadly neither was Macross zero. I had placed my hopes in Macross Frontier, and it did keep my attention but ultimately it was a letdown. However, I have come to accept the fact that there will never be a "true" sequel to the original Macross. For whatever reason, the powers that be have chosen not to continue the story of Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay. I can live with that, however I will still enjoy Macross in whatever incarnation it appears in. Provided Kawamori doesn't do anything to Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay, like killing them off. THAT WOULD MAKE ME STOP WATCHING MACROSS!!!

MY GOSH, in all these years of watching Macross I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!!! Milia's squadron WAS responsible for Roy's death! Dang, how could I have missed that after all these years? Hot female Zentradi pilots can have that effect on one's memory!!

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
aerocombatpilot replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Since this about Star Wars, maybe somebody can answer this: When I saw Episode one, I remember a scene in which R2-D2 fell off the landing pad on Coruscant and had to use his thrusters to get back on. However, that scene is not on any tape or DVD of The Phantom Menace. Also in Episode 2, I remember during the battle at the end, several clone troopers riding speeder bikes, but now that scene is missing from the DVD as well. DOES ANYBODY ELSE REMEMBER THOSE TWO SCENES, OR IS MY MEMORY GOING BAD?!!- 1217 replies

I believe you're right when you say we should enjoy each Macross series for what they are, not what we would want them to be. As I watch now watch Macross 7 again (don't tell Gubaba), I find that I can enjoy it by not comparing it to the original Macross. When it first aired, I wanted it to resemble SDFM, and when that never happened; I hated it! Well, after several years have passed, I think I've grown out of the "I want my Macross sequel" mindset. I think that after Macross F, I come to accept the fact that "My Macross" will never be made, and I must resign myself to whatever Macross incarnation Mr. Kawamori comes up with next. As far as my complaint with Macross F has always been the design of the characters. I think Mikimoto would have done a much better job on them. Besides that, well there isn't anything else I could really complain about.

Battlestar Galactica Discussion III
aerocombatpilot replied to kaiotheforsaken's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yes, I believe you're right. The show did not need the name Battlestar Galatica to do as well as it did, and as a old school BSG fan I probably would have watched more of the show if it had a differnt name. -
Where to next? FIND MINMAY, HIKARU, and MISA!!!!
