  1. Seems like some funny 80s promotional art from DYRL. The geeky guy with the bag is Kawamori...
  2. You should man, really... IS A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I recommend you watch the original Yamato and the original Gundam movies afterwards. The original SDF Macross took a lot from them. Kawamori was a Yamato/Gundam fan and got inspired by those shows to create Macross... BTW... I'm telling you people... the next Macross TV series should be an animated MACROSS THE FIRST... Don't be afraid of remakes... Astroboy, Cyborg 009 and many other series have been remade several times over the years. That's what made those franchises last, the remakes. What if the original series is remade but is expanded into several seasons with new related stories? What if some characters from Zero were added (engineer Nakajima, Edgar Lasalle, Mao Nome, etc)? What about episodes describing what happened during the 2 years interval after episode 27? More focus on destroid pilots? Macross Space War I timeline is so epic there is plenty of room for stories set in that era... New alternate and expanded stories and new animation can make them better. Things change... Embrace change...
  3. This is a tough one. I prefer the VF-1 because it is a true space fighter... but the VF-0 still looks awesome...
  4. I bet this has been posted before, but here it goes. I just discovered a countdown clock at the Bandai Channel Macross page... It marks 275 days until some big event related to the 30th Anniversary starts. Does anybody know what is this about?
  5. Hikaru and Minmay... and the VF-1D.
  6. Minmay Type Valkyrie...
  7. Alto on his mecha of choice...
  8. Old Macross VF-1J with a Macross: The First Hikaru Ichijo. Official art by Hidetaka Tenjin.
  9. "Melting"? LOL... Guys... I think I can figure out now your opinion of Zentradi designs... Btw... Here, have some Wilder...
  10. I strongly disagree. I liked the artist maximalism and his approach to portrait a more high tech looking version of the Messiah, as well as his choice of the SV-51 helmet with Mayan markings for Sheryl... That's by far my favorite helmet design from the Macross series.
  11. Sheryl's VF-25...
  12. Hello. I have been on this forums since just a few years ago and I was wondering if anyone remembers the amount of time that passed between the announcement of Macross Frontier and the December 2007 special. I would like to make my own calculations for the amount of time left before a new series is officially announced...
  13. An OVA focused on a Destroid attack squad during Space War I??
  14. Ranka Jenius...
  15. This image is awesome...
  16. LOL... Dude... That's called "realistic". Btw... I just stumbled upon some old and rare Macross production and promotional images... brace yourselves...
  17. This is by far the BEST Clan Clang image I have seen recently... awesome fanart... awesome...
  18. A.F.A.I.K. Miyatake designed each and every Zentradi and Meltrandi spaceship and mecha, except the Regults and the Glaug, which were Kawamori's doing...
  19. As far as I know Kawamori created the original series concept, the whole triangle with a space war as background, the alien giants fighting mecha, the valkyries, the regults and the glaug, the space opera setting, the use of other alternatives to fighting for winning a war, everything. Without him, there wouldn't be any Macross... period.
  20. LOL... This one is hilarious!
  21. What? Was RETURNER a drama? LOL... Man, I just watched the film. You are totally wrong. If the fact that some character dying makes you feel disappointed about the film, I think you are just making a biiig mistake by not taking into account the 2 hours plus x minutes of incredible PURE SCI-FI action of the film. The pace is amazing... is like some reviewer said... "an action film rollercoaster". I highly recommend you watch the film completely despite not liking the ending. It's got pretty awesome battle scenes and the re-designs are very very good. The acting is quite something and each and every death is there for a reason. This film is the BEST sci-fi anime adaptation I have ever seen... I hope its success prompts Bandai, Sunrise and Big West to make Live Action film adaptations of Gundam, Macross, Orguss and so on... This movie finally has demonstrated that good film adaptations of anime and good action sci-fi films aren't exclusive of Hollywood from now on...
  22. Fresh from Pixiv...
  23. They're called glasses, LOL... (Sorry, but I'm just getting more and more sick and tired of all the people who say a girl is ugly just because she uses them...)
  24. Well... the Yamato was kept intact. But I must tell you that the new Cosmo Zero design is gonna give you a major surprise when you watch it in action. I won't spoil it, but just wait until you see it in action dude, hehe. No, I haven't seen the film, but I self-spoiled when I read the description of a scene where the craft appears...
