The witchcraft 639 pill supposedly was for stopping it from progressing any further... Her fever and other symptoms were side-effects of the drug...

I watched the gg episode myself and according to their subs Sheryl's got the V-Type infection in her. An article regarding her disease was posted by Grace O'Connor in Cosmo Nature in 2053, when Sheryl was 11 years old... Apparently Grace did the research on Sheryl in Galaxy Fleet...

Wasn't the V-Type infection harmless to humans? I think I read that according to gg subs Sheryl's infection is another type of disease (not the V-Type) that she caught when she was a homeless girl living in the slums and the witchcraft 639 pill kept this disease from progressing any further, but didn't cure her...

How many episodes are there? I remember I read somewhere that there was an official subtitled release in VHS (or was it DVD?), but it was incomplete... Is there an official Orguss DVD English subtitled compilation?

Was that confirmed on this episode? (18)... It seemed to me that Sheryl's disease is another one she got when she was an anonymous and homeless orphan living in Galaxy's slums, not the V-Type (Vajra related) infection researched in the 117th fleet...

More like the Vajra fighting on Frontier's side against Galaxy... (Or in S.M.S. side fighting both Frontier and Galaxy?)...

I completely agree... It was quite the shocker for her and it served the plot very well... And I don't think Grace was lying... Since it has been clearly shown that the one with the ability to confuse the Vajra is Ranka... not Sheryl...

Actually I believe Galaxy will start defeating Frontier. Suddenly, when all seems lost Ranka will unleash the full fury of the Vajra on them cyborgs... I can't wait to see Grace's face when all her plan turns to dust... Priceless!!!

The ironic thing is that the Orguss itself seems to have influenced some of Kawamori valkyrie designs afterwards... No wonder, since practically all the mecha from Orguss was designed by Kazutaka Miyatake, one of Kawamori's influences (Kawamori said that in an interview) and who worked with him in SDF Macross... (In Macross Miyatake designed the big ships, the SDF-1, The Destroids and the Zentradi Power Armors among other things...). I just love the designs from Orguss... They remind me a lot of the original Macross... (and still they are quite different...).

Err... Nope? According to Grace's revelation to Sheryl in Episode 18, Grace found Sheryl in the Galaxy slums. Grace gave her the Sheryl Nome name... Sheryl was just an anonymous and homeless orphan girl... Unrelated to Ranka, Ranshe Mei, Dr. Mao, etc...

Well, I believe both things must be related... The damage feedback data may very well be simple shared inter-species PAIN...

I've noticed that sometimes ppl eye color brightens/darkens with age... While changes in eye color of infants are more common, even in adults, eye color changes are seen, most often as a result of exposure to the sun. Sunlight triggers melanin production in the eye, as it does to the skin. Abscence of light reduces it... (Or maybe is just a coloring mistake...).

O.k.... Let me see... She caused the war of Frontier vs the Vajra (that has killed lots of living beings on both sides)... Destroyed a Planet (Killing a whole Zentradi allied battalion in the process). It is also very possible she is the one who caused the attack on the 117th fleet (Killing Dr. Mao and Ranka's family among other 1000 ppl)... And she just broke Sheryl (In more than one way...). No sir... I think is obvious by now that she is quite EVIL... (Unless her plan implies the resurrection of all the lifeforms she's killed directly or indirectly in her quest, hehehe... I hardly doubt it...)

Since Episode 18 showed that Dr. Mao Nome was the project leader in the 117th Fleet's Vajra Research... Does this mean that she died too during the fleet's destruction? (Btw... Grace's clothing here looks kinda like Sheryl's... which makes sense...)

Oops, didn't notice, hehe... Well... After watching the raw of Episode 18 I'm more and more convinced that Grace O'Connor has always been a cyborg. She was created in the 117th fleet in 2040. Her mind is the sum of different A.I. minds... Sharon Apple's included... She somehow managed to get into Dr. Mao's research team in 2047 and she caused the 117th/Vajra fiasco a year later...

I guess that wolfx's statement is valid from the last part of episode 17 until now hehe, since the Vajra evolved and anti-ECA ammunition isn't effective anymore...

I believe that the ultimate terror of the Vajra is the fact that the V-Type virus turns people into Vajra... Ranka is somehow immune and can carry the infection without mutating. The infection is what enables her to communicate with the Vajra... Sheryl may very well end up morphing into a new Vajra Queen...

Not likely. Since as revealed in chapter 18 Sheryl was a homeless girl unrelated to Ranka, Ranshe or Dr. Mao... Is more probable that Grace gave her the V-Type infection. The witchcraft 639 pills kept the infection from advancing. However, the infection didn't give her the abilities Grace wanted. Ranka on the other part can keep the infection from advancing somehow (perhaps she's granddaughter of Dr. Mao) and uses it to communicate with the Vajra...
