Wow... Then Sheryl's earrings were in fact made by the Protoculture!!! The whole "Birdman cutting off its own head" is just an interpretation of the Birdman's head module/ship that separated from its main body. The birdman is a highly advanced protoculture mecha... not a living being after all. I believe that the earrings belonged to some Protoculture individual who was piloting the Birdman and refused to follow their protocol of destroying humanity when they discovered that it was a warlike race...

It seems you haven't seen Tomino's IdeON (1980), which he made after Gundam (1978). The creators of EvangeliON (1995) were influenced by it a lot... The original SDF Macross (1982) was influenced by it a lot too... Highly unlikely, since Grace seems to be on the bridge of the Battle Frontier during battle, not the Quarter... I predict Leon will get wasted in the Battle Frontier when Ozma rams its bridge after Leon has the Quarter destroyed with all hands onboard...

Agreed... This episode is Frontier's own "Pineapple Salad" episode... Will be remembered for ages... (Another reason why the powers that be should leave Michael's fate as it is and move on... sorry...)

After watching IDEON (1980) I realised that the troubled 3 year pre-production of the original SDF Macross (1979-1982) paid off in the end. It shaped the whole franchise as perhaps one of the most Tomino influenced ones (Not that much in Macross Seven though). Waiting a lot can be actually good in the end, hehe... I just realised something terrible... That perhaps the dead girl in the miclonization chamber entry was Nene with Raramia's haircut!!!!!!! (Can't wait for the subs now...)

Somebody posted in the Episode 20 discussion thread that an announcement of the final episode of Frontier with the October 16 date was shown during the broadcast... So, is it official then or what?

Sorry man, but that would be just cheap and kill the already fantastic drama created so far... If u are right, then this series will go down the drain really bad... Err... Raramia has been dead since episode 14 dude... What u saw Well... I already became pretty sad since episode 13 and the destruction of the 33th... So Now u all know how I felt back then...

Actually there is. Basically the Vajra react to ppl emotions. If everybody is full of hate Vajra will get in a destructive frenzy... Is a good theory. However, I think more of an attack-the-guys-with-the-guns mandate on their behavior... More and more (specially after episode 20) I'm convinced that the Vajra are the spawn of what remained of the Birdman from macross Zero that folded to the center of the Galaxy. Sara Nome died when the reaction warheads hit the Birdman, so it entered auto-mode and folded away (This implies that Shin didn't fold, he died in the watercrash... what Mao Nome saw was a vision and nothing more.... sorry). After arriving at the center of the Galaxy the Birdman produced the V-Type virus and created the Vajra as we know them... The Vajra are imprinted with the Birdman's mission of destroying the war-like races, so they attack anybody in Frontier (specially if they have any guns). The scene of the Vajra Mini-Zam visciously attacking the sniper in Episode 20 made me think of this...
