Well they are really small details. I don't think they are tributes, but I'm sure as hell Kawamori must have watched Macross II designs at least once in his life. He could have used those details without even knowing... Sometimes that happens when creating new mecha (At least to me, hehe).

He voiced Hikaru? With that hair he looks more like Roy Focker, hehe...

Guys, I said subtle similarities... Ozma's VF-25S has a red sensor in the forehead just like the VF-2SS. The forearms (and a bit of the arms) design is strikingly similar too. Also, the stripe pattern in the upper part of both torsos looks the same. The VF-2SS with Super Armed Pack has some armor patterns identical to some patterns in the Full Armor VF-25S. Btw... The Cheyenne destroids (I & II) also have some Mac II Tomahawk in them...

I am one of those people who think Captain Wilen's fighter was a tribute to the VF-2SS from Mac II. Btw, I have found 2 elements of Macross II in canon Macross stories. I heard the "Marduk" music theme in Macross Dynamite 7 and also the "Scooper" song used as main theme in the Macross Valkyrie Overdrive Windows XP Pc game... And from a mecha design point of view, I found lots of similar elements of the VF-2SS in the both the armored and full armor VF-25S. I'm not saying the VF-25S was inspired entirely by it, but I have seen similar subtle details in both designs...

She was the character designer for Frontier, right? LOL... I like her designs, but I still like Mikimoto's character designs more, hehe... Must be SDFM nostalgia....

The thing with the Compendium is that it is based completely in Official Printed information. Therefore, the amount of information on it was pretty small at first. However, as the issues of the Macross Chronicle are released the information on it grows. If any of you have translated notes of the Chronicle feel free to contribute to the Compendium... Btw... The article for deletion notice has been removed from the Wikipedia Macross pages I mentioned before... (apparently because no consensus for deletion was achieved) Maybe the Zentradi-like load of references I posted helped... Mission accomplished?

Well... From a very objective/realistic point of view you are right. However, I must confess that I have discovered most of the truth behind the differences between Robotech and Macross through Wikipedia. If they start deleting articles related to icons of the Macross franchise (The SDF-1 and the VF-1 above all) many people (noobs) will loose the chance to discover the whole scope of the Macross franchise like I did... I think that a heavy re-edition of said articles to explain the background and importance of such icons (with the proper backing citaions an/or refrences) could be very helpful as a source of information on the anime franchise... Am I right or am I right?

Hehehe... Is just that I can't see any source of Macross related information deleted just like that, hehe.

More Clang and some Chronicle mecha art...

I have added several references to the Protoculture and Megaroad articles thanks to the Macross Chronicle translations. If anybody know any from the Macross Perfect Memory they would help a lot... (for the VF-1 and the SDF-1)

I just discovered several articles related to the Macross universe are at risk of being deleted if they are not given the proper references/citations for all the information in them... Also, if any of you know of reliable sources for the material in those articles include the proper references in them...
