go WDC! And for your information Puchiko is a serious ass kicking machine! Btw, just out of curiousity MacPlus, you seem to be very critical of cosplayers, may I see some of your costumes?
-
wow theyre not too bad. Not 100% perfect, but not too bad. More the fact that they actually managed to get a group together and all have halfway decent costumes is pretty cool. Now Im assuming theyre amateur cosplayers and if so, its a really good attempt for them. I think any Macross cosplay is cool though as it is not overdone.

Actually that would be me, and she did it: http://www.fansview.com/2003/animeiowa/0823b008.jpg Shes also got a Mylene waiting in the wings for the "right time" as she puts it. She also did M3 Millia with my M3 Max at the same con, but no pics on the web for it.

I dunno i enjoyed Austin Powers sequals. The second movie was the first one slightl tweaked, but the third one had a lot of new jokes and was a great movie. Airplane II was great, not as good as the first, but it was still damn funny. Just because a sequal isnt as good as the first, doesnt mean it itsnt a good movie. Spaceballs 2 will be good and getting the old cast back shouldnt be too hard (aside from Candy) as most of them had careers that ended up going no where.

Project Pegasus - The best Gundam game ever?!?
maxjenius81 replied to ogami's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I dunno, I got the impression that the games released here in the states acutally didnt take too long inthe translation. And the only recent gundam games to my knowledge we havent gotten are the MMORPG, which we still may get, and the Giren Greed games, which I really wish we got. Im willing to bet this one is destined for a US release. If not, ive got my Japanese PS2, im set. -
Random question off topic as it is non-macross. Did you happen to see Yamato's upcoming release of a 1/24 scale Asurada GSX from Future Grand Prix Cyber Formula?

Damnit, Nied beat me to it. I thikn monitor is the best description of the vessel as it is simply one big gun and thats it which is the classic monitor concept. Though I dont think montiros have been used by modern navies since the 20s or 30s. I know citing a Robotech source isnt always valid in Macross, but the RRG has been referring to that vessel as a monitor as far back as I can remember. So I say try not to take the source Kanji literally and instead go for the spirit of what they are trying to say. For instance the Japanese word for Submarine is Sensuikan which literally translated reads "War Ice Ship" I have no idea how to get submarine out of that, but thats what it is. Better yet, translate Cho Jikuu Yousai and see what you get, I guarantee its not Super Dimensional Fortress.

Graham's probably right, im not perfect with kanji but my kana aint to shabby. The kana says chaff and flare as best i can read.

Good deal, your turn A7

Cute picture.... In the original Getter Robo, what is Musashi's greatest fear?

Silent Service and the submarine is the Seabat aka Yamato About the previous one, I wouldve guessed, but it seemed too easy and thought there was a trick...

INdeed. I saw this anime back in like 94 or 95 on VHS and I was awestruck by it. It blows away any other ninja anime esepcailly the perenial fan ffavorite ninja scroll. Favorite part of the movie is when Jiro travels to america where everyone magically speaks japanese from the Nevada townsfolk to Mark Twain and of course, the native americans.

Youre forced to continue to work on Macross stats for the rest of eternity.
-
Not too mention its just plain cool.

Probably one of them is to deploy the bayonet while the other as Nanashi so elequently put, shoots the gun. Great job again big N, so....got any info on the VF-19s pod?

Congrats DYRL, one more year till you can be as drunk as Focker and not get in trouble for it, at least with the law Iguess we really dont remember :-)

Bandai Entertainment Cracks Down on DVD Piracy
maxjenius81 replied to treatment's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Im not a legal expert, but i think its a lot easier and cheaper in this case to remove the hydra heads (the stores) rather than the body itself (the makes of the discs) as the makers of these disks are mostly in China and Taiwan countries with whom Japan is not on the most friendly of terms with. The US and Japan have good diplomatic relations and that may have lead to the crack down on the distributors. On the other hand, cut of the heads of a Hyrda and it cannot feed and the body will die. -
Well Im glad their is finally gonna be some closure. While i do like the novels and End of the Circle had its funny points (planet that turns into the SDF-01), it was just too whacked out at times. I'm looking forward to this new series and hope this one doesnt fall short of expectations like RT II and I also hope this is totally 100% original, not stolen from another series. When RT was first made, that was the norm, now adays that is the exception and everytime it happens these days the new is FAR worse than the original, unlike RT which was at least adaquate. As for the name yeah its hokey, but honestly, anime is fairly hokey, especially within the mecha genre. Time to see if RT can actually stand on its on two legs without the assist from Macross or any other series....

Just a reminder folks, shes going to be at Anime Weekend Atlanta this year in september.

Eh ive cut Reba West some slack. I know she really cant sing that well, but if you ask her about it, shell freely admit that Iijima is much better and remembers the only reason she got to sing was she was the only female with even minor singing experience.

Summer 84 -> Summer 04. Will Big West let it pass?
maxjenius81 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Movies and TV Series
Im not so sure about that, lest we forget the Gundam Big Bang Project celebrating 20 years of Gundam. Id like to see a DYRL rerelease, but i thikn it will come and go as Macross has a habit of not really promoting itself as much as Gundam. Now DYRL at Otakon on the big screen.....there is a good idea..... -
Macross World Map Project.
