Ive read lots reveiws about how bad this series is, but the fact is macross mecha are just awesome. In your opinion, is it worth buying and sitting thro 52 episodes of hippyness just for the mecha scenes?

ADV's DVD's on macross/mospead/southern cross
FlyingPika replied to FlyingPika's topic in Movies and TV Series
oh, you right, they call it the macross saga, but thats the name of the first volume. hmmm, so where does one get the orginal macross series from? -
Yo ppls. I last saw the robotech saga when i was like 7 yrs old. I would like to see the original. Unfortunately its seems the animego versions are sold out everywhere (if you know where to get please let me know!!). So the only other option ive found is the ADV release (i really dont wanna get the robotech boxsets). Thanks for any info.

How old is that post, godzilla with 3 1/48's?? Saying hes not gonna spend $7K on valks, and then goes and spends 9K on 1/48s only!! His current profile "TOTAL 1/48 = 65 (Am I sick or what?) TOTAL 1/72 = 4 TOTAL 1/60 = 8 TOTAL 1/100=6" I would like to interview one of our 1/48 macross collectors (godzilla/kensei/sithlord), make it a dark like 3rd degree reporter uncovering the real truth of whats going down behind the scenes at MW: "hey man u bring the good stuff?" "yeah, you know only the finest" "hows the quality" "japanese dog, u know i dont deal any of that hong kong chiaat. Yamato 1/48's, ull be tripping when u transform these babies" "keep it down, keep it down, i dont want no trouble ok" "hey man i dont want no trouble either, u got the money?" "i got it right here, had to sell my hoe's jewery for it, but i got it man" *Seller shows fresh 1/48 boxes* *buyers eyes dilate* Seller: "man ive nieva said this to a customer before, but i think u need to lay off the valks for abit, re-coperate man. People will start suspecting if u keep this up" "I got this under control, u just hand other the chiat" ~The deal is made, this is just another sad story where the common man, who u never would suspect, quenches his addiction. A man you would never suspect, just your average neighbour, maybe even your sun. If we dont do something now, it may be too late.~ Doods this is not jealously, but wot u do with 65 valks ? And how do you choose when to buy, like at 64 valks, wot makes u want 1 more???

dont forget alot more ppl buy movies than games, and also they buy more.

Wait a second, you ask people not to bang about ethics, and then bring it up again yourself? As to recasting kits? Most people here DO have a problem with recasting readily available kits. It's when a kit is terribly scarce (ie- limited run, OOP, etc.), to the point when even if you do find it, the price is unbearable, where recasting becomes a viable alternative. Even then there are some who have issues with recasting no matter what. The problem you seem to have is that you're cheap ("cost is ridiculous") and concerned about space ("it takes up huge space in the my cases"). Anime never has been, nor will it probably ever be, a cheap hobby. On that note, it's not terribly hard to perform a simple Google search to locate a plethora od bootleg sellers. The most difficult part will be finding one willing to ship to South Africa. i agree with the kits, alot of the recasts are super rare ones, and otherwards they would just not be availble. Its the only viable option. I just think its werid u can post about hobbyfan.com but not a dvd bootleg site... Well i enjoy anime, but in south africa, its unheard of. And my 3kbs connection takes abit of time dl anything....
-
Thanks joke-machine!!! The site uses paypal for payment ack South africa used to actually be on the paypal list, but then was removed!!! Any1 else got any other suggestions??
-
Before u ppls start bashing me about ethics, i hate having 24 episodes on 8 discs, it takes up huge space in the my cases, and the cost is ridiculous. Im actually thinking of selling my orginal eva's dvds and buying some bootlegs. Anyway, since paypal isnt availble to south africa, i have a hard time paying for stuff on ebay, and kinda have to use online shops. So if any1 knows a good place to buy this stuff please do share!!! And btw i do like to have the option of eng dub if availble. thank you!

Where is this dead stock??? A few days ago i searched all over the net for a vf-1J, and the cheapest i could find it for was $168. Everywheres its sold out, except at hobbyonsale it seems... Where else is it availble?

I think it is a matter of time. I heard that next year we will see a resurgence of the next popular valk. You don't want to bring out too many things close together. My wishlist is: DYRL? FAST Packs Hikaru VF-1Js (we'll get that with the GBP armour, but I want 12 alone) and CF (this is going to be released. It's easy. Just a matter of when. I want a Yamato one because I hate paint chipping). Unlike EXO, I won't be able to hiberate well. I'll just be stickering during the winter I guess. Why 12??? WHat do you do with 12?? Any why not 11? Please explain i just dont get it
