  1. Like the title said... I know I will be looking for Strike cannons for the upcoming Max and Millia 1/48 Super 1J's, and would rather not have to find them here and there and pay out the nose for them. I'm sure I'm not alone here. So, is anyone thinking of recasting those?. Sounds like an easy way to make a few extra bucks.
  2. I would be very surprised if they didn't release the 1/69 HG Strike already assembled as a DX or what did you call it, Mega Size?. I have this toydel, and when completed, it has the feel of the previous DX toys, maybe minus some of the weight, but that just means it will actually stand up unlike the DX Nu
  3. GU-11 is the 3 barrelled 55 MM Gunpod carried by the VF-1 series. In short, it's the gun.
  4. What's with you and that old used up hag anyway? ... Dude, she is the ultimate female cyborg... I mean she is like a female Darth Vader, powerfull and unstopable, more machine now than woman. Sexiest chick ever. And she sings songs like.. Walking in Memphose It's In His Keeyose If I Could Turn Back Tiyome All in all, she looks good for a damn near sexagenarian, but what's with her upper lip?, I mean, it looks like it's been stretched so many tiimes that it no longer has that natural indent that makes it look normal. I bet if you got her nekkid, you would find 30 years worth of skin all tucked into her wigline.
  5. OK, As I said before, these are some of the cleanest recasts I have seen yet. Granted, they are small parts, and solid for the most part, which makes it easier, but all the seams are clean and crisp, and the only air bubble I saw was a tiny one at the end of the trigger finger. Not having a set of the originals, I don't know if this was on them or not, but it is so small that I dont care. The stems are indeed thicker, and as EXO sais, you will do best to take a nice sharp xacto knife, and shave down the stems a bit. It took about 5 minutes per hand on the one set of four that I did before they fit perfectly. One note of caution for those of you who are not used to recasts, they are usually a bit more fragile than normal plastic so I would recommend that if you are placing the GU-11 in the hand, you should place it in the hand before attaching the hand to the forearm, that way, you will avoid downward pressure on the peg. Also, the GU-11 fits tightly into the hand which is a good thing, so be careful to hold the hand by the larger part of it, not by the index finger, remember, recasts are slightly more brittle here folks!. Just exercise caution, and you'll be good to go!!. All in all, these are sweet, and well worth the bucks. Incidentally, the ones I got were the slightly off white (grayish) ones, but color really doesnt matter to me, anything looks better than the stock DYRL style hands. SUGGESTION - The open palmed left hand is so big, that I bet someone with time and talent could work a polycap ball joint into it for more poseability. This is not a problem with Rohby's stuff, rather it is a design limitation from Yamato. Here endeth the lesson....
  6. Got both sets today. These are some of the best recastings of anything that I've seen.
  7. Silly question, but why does it matter? Do the Versio 1 discs have some unknown collector's value? or are they like the infamous V1 Evangelion DVD's that were just of craptastic quality.
  8. Really though, it's more like he's got a... Metric ton BUTT. My personal favorite Oscar moment was the priceless Tiger Woods imitating Carl the greenskeeper commercial. Awesome!
  9. What's wrong with Volvo? I mean other than that wikkity wikkity, homey gee money POS. I never will understand why little crap heads like that mod perfectly good cars into ghetto looking pieces of worthless crap. Like the time I saw a perfectly good SUV that had been lowered about 1 inch off the ground.
  10. Hey, I live 2 miles away from the Academy. Welcome to the anime dead zone, AKA the Eastern United States.
  11. I've seen that before, looks like he is trying to adapt a set of 1/55 Chunky Monkey GBP armor. That stuff was hideously inaccurate, so I hope not....
  12. Both true, but as someone who loves Gundam, and has never seen Zeta, I would at least like to DL an ep or two to see if I want to spend a hundred plus dollars on a box set. I would rather support fansubbers than HK bootleggers, and even the Z and ZZ boxed bootleg sets are like 40-60 dollars, which is money better saved for the real thing if you could dl the first few for free.
  13. Dude, when you have that much money and can afford personal trainers and dieticians out the yin yang, there's no wordly excuse for looking like a fat hairy slob. I mean, he makes Ron Jeremy look clean and thin by comparison, and that's saying something!
  14. Ken Watanabe got robbed by that dirty hippie Tim Robbins. And you would think that after millions of dollars, slews of awards, and kuodos, and the like that Peter Jackson could try for once not to look like a soup sandwich. I mean seriously, all props go to the LOTR franchise, but JC Penney was the sponsor of the Oscars, and it looked like he bought his suit off the $40.00 rack. C'mon dude, get a personal trainer, or at least a shirt that fits, and some straps that attach the tails of your shirt to your socks or something. Jeez.
  15. Well, your recast work looks as good as any I've seen here. Good job!. Recasting is one area I have yet to delve into, though I really want to.
  16. OK guys and gals... my apologies for not posting in this lately, I have been out of commission for a couple of days. Anyway, it's time to start thinning the herd... so, here are all of the designs that have been submitted, including Dangard Ace's final design... Done by Dangard Ace Version 2 - Dangard Ace Dangard Ace (v3) Based on Haruhiko Mikimoto's work Dangard Ace (v4) Based on above... Version 3 - Another one by Blaine23 Version 4 - Yet another one by Blaine 23 - This time with Macross logo Please let us know what you think.... So, let's start with the easy part - We can only go forward with two designs, so we need to eliminate all of the others. Please respond here with the versions you think should GO. Once we have it narrowed down, we can get going on the final two designs.
  17. What he said.... Except that I didn't put my 1/60's back in their cardboard coffins, I sold em all off.
  18. Anyone but that genocidal nut. OK then... Kou Uraki! No? How about... Monsha! I love how everyone always blames Char. How about - The Federation Government - AKA THE Quintessential frakking Goofballs? "OK, Char, we know you and Neo Zeon dropped an asteroid on our headquarters just yesterday, but we're going to sell you an EVEN BIGGER asteroid that has it's own engines!. Now, don't you be a bad little despot, and try to drop that one on Earth too, OK??" Of course, the ultimate villain, at least in CCA was Quess of course. Man, the cheers that erupted in the cavernous screening room at Otakon 02 when she got slapped, and then blow'd up. Aaaahhhh. It's awesome Jellyman.
  19. Oh, and Graham, you might want to edit your Header tag, the page title you have is 1/48 Revisted
  20. Yeah, Mari at least can sing. Ultimately, she was never able to escape the Minmay stereotype, and her career has been mediocre over all, but at least she has talent. Whoever told Reba West that she could sing was out of their freaking mind. All of the Reba West RT songs are like chewing broken glass. However, in comparison, Look Up (The Sky is Falling), Lonely Soldier Boy, and even We Will Win done by Lancer in New Gen are pretty damned good songs. Look Up is a perennial favorite of mine. So, not all of the RT tunes were bad, and at least they wrote a good opening theme, but I would rather eat my way out of a septic tank than listen to Reba West crowing out that crap she did.
  21. Yeah, that is going on my must snag list. Thanks for the review G Man!
  22. Yeah, it had a good time slot.... If you're unemployed. Anyone that works any sort of normal day schedule had no prayer of ever catching Toonami.

Hopefully Yamato will take this into account for future releases, and give us better joints. Obviously, they didn't give Graham a Pre-Prod sample of this one, I'm sure the G man wouldn't have let them slide on something so big. I mean, really, for a figure as top heavy as this appears to be, you have to have better poseability in the legs and especially the ankles, or it's just going to topple over. Still, waiting for the G man's review before I pass judgement.

Eine Minuten Bitte... I thought the Millia fig was supposed to split in two halves or something and the upper portion would insert into the armor to give her the "in cockpit" look. That Millia fig looks solid.
  25. L - O - V- E - Happy Minmay!
