The only problem I ever had with a PG manual was for the PG Zaku F. I think it was one of the first PG's released if not the first. I had a hell of a time deciphering which screws were wich to the point that I separated them all into individual ziplock bags, and copied the Kanji with a sharpie marker so I could get at them with ease. My wife thought this was hilarious I think though that with most of the later PG's they realized that there was a somewhat international market for these and as such, they have at least stopped identifying their screws with Kanji characters, now they are A, B, etc. If you look at them, they really aren't that hard. Just remember (to save yourself some time) that they go by sub-assembly. So MG's will usually start off with the feet, then the legs, then the torso or arms etc etc. PG's I think usually start off with the arms. Anyway, to save yourself some time, remember that you are going to have to build the opposite appendage the same way, so you may as well do it at the same time. What I usually do, is look at the instructions, and go ahead and remove the parts from the sprues, and polycaps etc for BOTH right and left appendages, build one based on the instructions, and then build the other right behind it. In the manual, the other appendage may be a page or two ahead, but you will have to build it anyway, so you may as well knock them both out at once. The only real bear with most of the PG's is the wiring, especially the PG Zaku I never did get the mono-eye to work. Hope this helps.

Whoo, I was just waiting until they were all posted so I could choose which one would be my new background image. Stunning, absolutely stunning.

Wristwatch that transformed into Robots...
Mechamaniac replied to Beware of Blast's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's amazing what happens when you search for "transforming wristwatch" on Google... KRONOFORM -
Pretty cool, although I have to say that I have seen SO MANY Macross AMV's set to Top Gun music that I'm not sure if I have seen this one before or not... Seriously, whoever made that AMV, there's PLENTY OF OTHER GOOD MUSIC out there to make AMV's to!. We get it, there's a Top Gun/Macross thing, no need to prove it for the seven trillionth time.

NICE! How did you get the nice straight edges on your custom styro?
-
Wow, you've made a fodder fan out of me. NICE!!!

Half the size of MSiA's?? Yeah, I'm gonna shell out cash for a two inch toy. NOT.
-
It won't scratch off if they molded it out of blue plastic! Doesn't matter, I ordered mine already. Gotta have the max!

Those look fantastic!!! A pretty penny indeed . Also, sorry, but I just couldn't resist a little PSP funnin....

Legend of the 1/55.....historic events....
Mechamaniac replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
If he had a chance to tweak the 1/55, he would make it into a 1/48. It leaves the chunky monkeys in the dust. -
Yes, please Yamato, don't forsake us....give us two seaters!
-
Well, when they're charging as much for a toy as they are for this one... They don't get to cut ANY CORNERS.
-
I have the same on my Hikaru 1S. They are definitely seam lines coming from the mold, they are too symmetrical to be anything else.
-
Yeah, sell the thing dude... Like Duane, I too have come to value my limited shelf space so much that I would rather only give it to the very best toys. I had a Low Viz at one point too, and yeah, it was cool at first, but after all, it is still a 1A, my least favorite head design, and the color variance wasn't really all that. Which is why I am surprised that people are clamoring for them now, c'mon, it's the same toy, repainted . So, Vostok, are you at least going to tantalize us by revealing this holy grail item?

Yes, you'll smoke a turd in hell for that.

Hey! I'm from Jersey. Come to think of it, I'm 6'2" and Asian. He is an exact replica… only two inches shorter. I shall call him Mini-m...., I mean Kyle… People who aren't from Jersey and make fun of it are just jealous. How else do you explain the popularity of the Sopranos? It sure ain't the writing. My wife's family is from Bloomfield, and Kearney, so half of the opening of the Sopranos is within 10 minutes drive of their houses. Even I, who am a casual Jersey visitor, was able to spot more than half of the places, and knew exactly where they are.

Then bring your ass home dude! I'm sure you'd love the shitty "spring" weather we've been having. Pouring rain, and temps in the 30's and 40's, it's great! All that leading up to another summer in the high 90's with humidity topping out right about 95%, Mmmm, can't wait for another Maryland summer in the steambox. I think I need to start job hunting nationwide....
-
Sweet!. So, I guess they weren't delayed, they just followed the normal Yamato schedule. March release means the very last possible day of March

LOL, I love picking on Jersey! But that's only because I'm from Maryland, and Jersey is the only state with higher auto insurance But my wife has [italiangoombaaccent]family[/italiangoombaaccent] in Jersey, so we're up there pretty frequently. MMmm, white castle, and Gencarelli's bakery in Bloomfield.... You just can't get good bread like they have in Jersey, it's the water, all the pollution makes for such a nice chewy crust...

Peter Jackson has cast the male lead of King Kong
Mechamaniac replied to Jolly Rogers's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Surprised he's not making his acting/directorial debut by playing Kong as well. He's fat and hairy enough. -
Haven't gotten any of these yet but I remember finding them on the web and they looked pretty good. Anyway, just wondering what you recommend for heating them? I imagine boiling water would be safest if it works. You could do that I suppose, but if you have a micro torch, or just a candle, it works just as well. Just make sure you hold them way up away from the flame, about 1-2 seconds about 3 inches up in the heat funnel should do the trick. Or you could sand off some of their big fat American asses .
-
If they're made of plastic, then do what I did to make the Hasegawa pilots fit into my Low Viz. heat em ever so slightly and bend their legs how they would need to be to keep them from popping up. I also had to sand some of the fat American asses off of the Hase pilots so they more closely resembled Hikaru's nice skinny little tush.

That is the funniest damned thing! I agree, the last one is choice!!
