That tears it, we need to go back to the old board settings, what were they? They were smaller for sure.
-
Yeah, it wouldn't be bad. I think Shawn likes to keep it small for the dial up users out there though.

Are we getting close to an actual Robocop?
Mechamaniac replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well... anything's possible, Drew, but only if you really believe. 1. Study hard in school. No one wants a dumb police robot. 2. Work hard and join the police academy. 3. Get caught off-guard trying to rescue your partner in a rundown factory in Old Detroit by a group of colorful and merciless cop-killing thugs. 4. Get shot into little, bitty, gory pieces while the thugs laugh at your expense. 5. Pray your ass off that a giant corporate entity will take your mangled, barely alive corpse and implant it into a state of the art killing machine. Well said!! Or as Clarence Boddicker once put it.... "Well give the man a hand!!" BTW - no matter what I see Kurtwood Smith in, he'll always be Clarence Boddicker to me. -
No, I'm pretty sure those are capital ship busters in the series. Not to say that they couldn't be carried in atmosphere, but definitely on the inner wing hardpoints, or perhaps the fuselage.

Yeah, the fanboys would see a bust of Misa, Millia, or Minmay as the perfect head sculpt to base their blow up dolls on. Funny, I just realized that the three main female characters in Macross all had names that started with MI..

To say David Hintgen is an aviation enthusiast would be the understatement of the century I think.

Cool! I love the detail on the missile clusters!

Yet another candidate for the MW Custom Toy Page, and a well deserved one at that!. You must post more pics of that custom!

so thats where my(used to be mine) valk is going. sweet! can't wait til its finished. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's where it's headed. At least if my re-finance goes through as expected. Like I said, I'm not even the pissboy of the king of bling bling. With a mortage, car payments, and two little screaming masters of destruction running around all the time eating everything in sight, and growing out of clothes before we even get home from the store with the new ones we just bought for them . So for me, this is a BIG step, and the only way I can pull it off (under the wife radar) is during a large influx of cash. So, if all goes as planned, you guys will be seeing something I guarantee has never before been seen here on MW.

COOL!!!! It would probably work better if you had one of the first issue pilots that were made out of hard plastic. Nevertheless, that ROCKS!

Nah, that Valk is way too dark for Char. He prefers the fru fru pepto pink color, at least until he went straight, and got the Sazabi.

Minmay was the only figure that came with the UN Spacy symbol. Why I dunno. The others were plain white. I cant wait for the second set. Basara will get sold off of course lol I'm guessing the reason why minmay only comes with that base is because she is seen singing on the un spacy symbol in the movie. Hmm, I was wondering if they were just stickers or decals that you could apply, though that would be easy enough to do. So, where can one get these without having to shell for the entire set? All I want is Hikaru and Minmay.

MSiA review: Aile Strike Gundam & Skygrasper
Mechamaniac replied to Ikari Ranma's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Wow, that's a crapload of itty bitty Gundams and Zeke suits you've got there. -
Those are the ways of the Yengeese and les Francais traders, and their masters in Europe infected with the sickness of greed!

Here you go.... http://f11.aaacafe.ne.jp/~gazouup/vf-1.html

That thing looks sweet, makes me wish I had seen any of the anime.
-
BTW - why do some of those have the UN Spacy logo on the base and others don't??
-
So, it's 5.50 per figure then. And no way to tell which one you will get I suppose? All I want are Hikaru and Minmay, Sara would be cool, but the Mac 7 figs can burn in hell
-
That site shows a price of $5.50 , not $55.00

Jung... As much an advertisement for your services, and it was an answer to my questions. That being said, I have the sacrificial valk we talked about.

I have one scanned in at 1200 dpi that is 300% larger than the original. It's print size is 3.5" x 9", but the file size is 126 MB. Way too big to post or email to you. it does make for a nice sticker, though. I just put one on my car. Any chance of getting some made up as stickers for the general MW public? I'd love one of those on my car.

I am really on the fence about commissioning one of these. However, not even being the chamber pot changer of a king of bling bling, I really have to think long and hard about spending a wad of cash on having one customized. So, my questions are thus.. When completed, how close are they to the original fit and tighness of the 1/48?. Way back when, I had a custom 1/55, and it was so loose (had to be to avoid paint scraping etc) that it really was no fun at all to even hold. So, are these things at all playable when they are done? or are they pretty much static display pieces only?. The 1/55's had to be very loose due to the swing bars etc... Given that, how well does the design of the 1/48 lend itself to customization?. I don't "play" with my stuff anyway, I'm pretty much an every so often poser, so it may be unimportant. But given the huge amount of customs that have been flowing in here lately, and the fact that it seems one or two people may be the benefactors of all those works of art, I feel the need to ask for clarification for those of us who may be considering it. Thanks to the customizers, and bling bling kings in advance for answering.
-
Proof that the 1/55 heads were always a bit oversized. I slapped a recast of the Chris Baretta head on one of my 1/48's. I have always loved the D head design, and even if there is no two seater, I still may use it for a D head custom project... Anyway, here are the pics...

Given all the scratch building that's going on, the solution seems pretty simple to me... Recast the outer leg armors on the 1/48. Recast them finless so it will not make a difference - Downside is that they will have to be installed on the Valk and left on there permanently etc, as will the AG Armor unless you want it to look wierd. Or Recast them with a built in hinge - They still would have to be permanently installed, but at least this way, you could remove the AG armor on a whim, and still have a normal looking Valk. Or Recast them, and design a retractable fin. Doesn't have to be too complicated, something along the lines of the retractable grip on the gunpod would suffice.
