  1. Pretty uncommon??? I lived in Japan from 90-92, and I can tell you honestly that In that entire time, I only saw ONE Japanese guy that was taller than I am. I am 5'11", and this dude was HUGE, easily 6'4" or better, and trust me, he stuck out like a sore tumb. Ali Sama's got it right, but I think that 170 cm might be pushing the upper limits of the average male height in Japan. So, Kakizaki would be some sort of mutant by Japanese standards, hell, had he survived SWW1, he may have had a promising career as a Sumo wrestler. According to the compendium, he tipped the scales at a whopping 140 kg, that's 309 lbs!! NO WAY IN HELL his fat ass would fit in a fighter cockpit.
  2. I have to admit, my hatred for the southern accent has stemmed from my job. For the last 4 years, I have been doing PC support for Insurance agents, most of whom are from the DEEP south. Some of those dudes, I can't even understand what they are saying their drawl is so deep. Add to the fact that most of them are constantly breaking my machines, and that most of them are just chronically unwilling to learn, and you'll see why I cringe every time I hear a "Y'all" or something like it. But I am an equal opportunity a-hole, I live near Baltimore, or as they say it around here, Bawlmer, usually adding a HON to the end of it . So, really, what I hate is ignorance, it's just that usually the ignorant people I encounter also come equipped with an accent.
  3. Yes... Southern accents should be banned.......everywhere.
  4. Ahh, what the hell, here they all are, according to the compendium. SDF Macross / DYRL Focker - 216 cm Hikaru - 175 cm Misa - 168 cm Max - 181 cm Kakizaki - 207 cm Claudia - 182 cm Minmay - 158 cm Kaifun - 182 cm Shammy - 155 cm Vanessa - 167 cm Kim - 164 cm Global - 194 cm Macross Plus Isamu - 183 cm Guld - 195 cm Myung - 170 cm Macross Zero Shin - 168 cm Edgar - 178 cm Now here's the wierd thing....according to the compendium, Focker was 190 cm at the time of Macross Zero (2009) and 216 cm by the time of SWW1? So he grew from 6'2" to 7'1" inside of three years . And at the time of Zero he's 26 so well beyond the old puberty growth spurt. WTF? Maybe he comes into contact with some raw zentraedi genes in ep 4 or 5 of Zero. Guess we'll wait and see....
  5. Yeah, it will be interesting to see if they do Guld or Isamu in Series 3 since Guld is tall as well, and Isamu is a beanpole, but barely breaks 6' at 183cm.
  6. So I was admiring my new CM's Macross Roy Figure, and it seemed strange to me that he towered over the Misa figure. Until I looked it up on the Macross Compendium, and according to that site, Roy is 216cm which equals 7'1" At that height, he is taller than half zentraedi guld who at 195 cm comes in at a puny 6'5". WOW, big dude, and would never fit into any fighter cockpit I have ever seen, I guess the VF-1 is roomy!
  7. Or, rather than using Algebra which SUCKS!! Try THIS Mmmmm, laziness
  8. Yeah, if only my dumb ass had thought of this two months ago . What makes matters worse is that I chat with Garoquel on AIM on a pretty regular basis.
  9. I'm talking about the circular portion of the logo on the MW Splash page. I remember when Emiko (she who must not be named) redid the MW Logo last year, someone had mentioned that she should PM (MemberX) who had designed the logo originally to get permission. We need to find a high res copy of the logo to use on the MW Exclusive Champagne Boxes. The boxes cannot be made until we get a high res copy of this image, and it is the only image we have not already obtained. Does anyone remember who (MemberX) was that designed the MW Logo? I PM'd Shawn about it last week, but he's here so infrequently these days, I figure he probably just doesn't have time.
  10. Check this out.... Found this Mauri Conversion Airsoft M-41A Pulse Rifle on Ebay! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3814773502
  11. I will be carrying these...No sure how many but I will have a decent stock... -Kevin BING - put me down for a set Kevin. I can e-mail you or something if you want to make it official. I'd really just rather deal with someone I know than HLJ. Don't get me wrong, they are a good outfit, but they tend to gouge for shipping, and well, let's face it, Kevin's a lot easier to deal with.
  12. Not a bad deal until HLJ charges you $25 bucks again to ship them. I wonder if Kevin will carry these?
  13. Got a notice from the PO yesterday that they are here!. Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy! Just had to beg my wife to go get them for me since my local crap post office closes at 5 PM, y'know, when no human being with a normal job could possibly hope to get there. . Thanks ROB for handling this for us!
  14. Long shot from hell, but why not.. Two 1S heads doesn't matter from which...
  15. Here's some info about resistors... http://www.doctronics.co.uk/resistor.htm
  16. In some areas it is a part of expanded-cable, usually a premium package. It might be PPV in other markets as well. Yeah, I think in my area it's a question of them just not having it all the way now. I have fully blown cable and internet with all the freakin channels, and I don't have the Anime network . Didn't you used to work for ComCast? I figured some of your old cable buddies would help you out... By the way, I don't get it either... And I don't really care. I've outgrown the need to watch RT. Yeah, I did, and that really makes stuff suck when my cable goes out, because 9 times out of 10, I know what the problem is, but I don't have the tools to fix it myself anymore!!
  17. Oooh, me pre-orderee!
  18. Sorry, just had to take another shot at the HIT IT!
  19. New Rei and Asuka figs... Fanboys.....grease your palms!

  21. You'll need a resistor in there as well to make sure that you don't send too much current to the LED. If you do, the LED will either burn out, or burn too hot, and might damage the surrounding plastic.
  22. Isn't the Anime Network Pay Per View? I think in my area it is.. I definitely wouldn't pay to see RT.
  23. They are nowhere near as delicate as what most of us would consider "model kits". IMHO - the Gundam MG, and PG kits fall into the "TOYDEL" category. You build em, and then you can play with them. The only real difference with MG and PG kits are that you don't have nice tight ratchety joints because they use polycaps. But other than that, everything else A7 said is dead on. I have 4 PG kits and I love all of them!.
  24. and as I said.... But they aren't really that different, one is blue, the other red. They are inexorably linked and always will be, so why take up all the poll spots, especially when your poll choices are exactly the same.
