It seems to me that the paint jobs tend to get a little weak on the clear hair variants. I don't know why that is because I'm sure the bodies and accessories are painted separately, and the hair pieces are just added to them, but most of the clear hair variants I have seen have thready paint, meaning it looks like they ran out of paint on the shoulder pads, or other parts. That being said, I prefer the solid hair versions.

OK, to further qualify what I said. Like JSA, I am the son of a Viet Nam vet as well. My father was there during Tet in 68, and still carries a personal souvenir of his trip to southeast asia in the form of a bullet wound the size of my fist on his shoulder, and a piece of AK bullet that worked it's way out if his back sometime in the mid 80's, creepy! So, I tend to take offense to those who say that we lost the war. Politically (which for all intents and purposes is what counts) we did lose. However Militarily, we won hands down. I think Harry Summers said it best... That being said, back to Macross 7!

Yeah, that's pretty neat!. Arigato Nanashi! -
Whoo, bash bash, ching! clash!! Just a small correction here, we did not "lose" the Viet Nam war. See HERE for more information. The only other thing I have to say is.... SAN DIMAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!

I liked the 1/850 Enterprise refit, but I was pissed when they did the Sovereign class, and cut the scale in half. They should have done it in the same scale!! However, the Intrepid class would be kind if neat in that scale considering that it is actually bigger than the Constitution class refit.

I hope the cannon length is a perspective thing in that picture, cuz they look a mite stubby to me!. I'd like to see a shot from the side so we can see how long the cannons really are in "gerwalk" mode. BTW - when did the true form of the Monster become Gerwalk mode?

Hey, here's a thought.... Why not just refer to people as "this guy/girl I know". Does it make a difference what race/ethnicity/religion they are a part of? Seriously, say you are referring to your friend to people that you don't know, and that don't know your friend. What difference does it make if your friend is Asian, Hispanic, or a Blue Meanie? To me, the whole thing seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face. The only reason people do this is to make themselves look better. "I have an "X" friend" = Look how diverse I am!!. Unless you are trying to qualify some point you are trying to make, like telling a story about Japan, and backing it up by saying, "I asked my Japanese friend, and he agreed." Even then, you're just trying to make yourself look better. Basically, what we're doing here is trying in the name of Political Correctness, not to offend anyone by calling them something that they may consider offensive without us knowing it. So, in a small kind of dirty hippie tree hugging way, it's all about giving the world a coke, and teaching them how to sing in perfect harmony, IE, let all the colors bleed into one etc. But by continuing to classify people by their race/ethnicity/religion etc, no matter how you do it, you're just causing derision, and stereotypes to carry on. People are people, regardless of their skin color, or religion or what have you. So, why classify them at all? If you are going to, you may as well keep going right on down the socio-economic ladder. "My Asian, middle class, republican, Jewish friend said..." etc. One of my best friends whom I have known all my life is Puerto-Rican, so I guess by PC standards, that would make him Hispanic, but to me, he is just Clint. And when I mention him to people who don't know him, he's just, "my friend Clint". That being said, I'll get down off of my Teutonic/Celtic soapbox.

No prob, BTW - I have already been talking to Garoquel about making some custom covers to go along with the MW Boxed sets. He is the one that made the Animeigo covers.

oh this is supposed to be for singapore MWers/fans first, however depending on the final product, i might be able to hook you guys up. wish us luck That's cool, it may be better for you just to let someone over here use one of the designs (without the Singapore part obviously), since the size differences in clothes is usually so hard to negotiate between the American, and Metric (is that what you use?) size schemes. Good luck! I'm sure you guys will get it going over there!.

It wasn't my idea or nothin......

OK, those designs are much too cool for you to not share them with your MW Brethren across the pond!

Is that the pawn shop that is on Veterans Hwy near the Empire Towers building? Yeah, that's the one... Funny thing, the place that was there before them had a lot of firearms, and when A&D opened, all of the sudden there were none in the place anymore. I asked one of the owners if they were going to carry firearms, and he said "NO". Within a year, they had a larger selection of firearms than just about anyone in the area Guess they saw where the cash cow was at that point. But I went to high school with one of the guys that works there, and they are really straight shooters when it comes to handling their gun business. -

Cool, I used to work at Bart's In Glen Burnie. Yeah, they used to be a much better gun dealer back in the day, but when all the gun laws came crashing down back in 98-99, they really got out of it. Now the only thing that keeps them afloat are the team uniform sales etc. DId you check out A&D Pawn down the road from Bart's? They usually have loads of nice yet "evil" assault style weapons. -
Is it subbed yet? LINK!!!

Sweet, thanks Blaine! I have replaced the image on page 1 with the final design. I kind of wish the black border was a little smaller, it kind of gives the case a "scorched in a fire" look, but I still love it.

Yeah, my Dad has a Norinco M14, and he upgraded the barrel, and a few other minor things, and it shoots like a house on fire. Of course, it helps that he is a crack shot with a rifle (two years in Viet Nam will do that to you) but still, it shoots great, and he has had no problems with it after at least 2000 rounds. -

Sweet jesus, that is just too much to pay for one rifle. They are awesome and all that, but I wish Springfield had not decided that all you could get of these were big money match shooters, why not just have a regular model that doesn't have to be a tack driver?. Like BSU said, I love the M14 design, and IMHO it was the last "true" of the real big bore battle rifles. They can keep that shitty M16 and it's itty bitty overgrown .22 calibre bullet. Gimme 7.62 x 51MM any day. But then again, that's coming from a former M60 gunner... Alas, ammo is too expensive for me to shoot any of the calibres I really like anymore. -
the $6 basic models or the HG kits? all i've seen around are the basic kits that need mass paint Looked like the $6 dollar variety, basically, the pre-painted "toydel" that you just snap together. I hate 1/144, it is craptastic, I would sooner get the $30 1/60 model that I already have, it is fantastic!

Fansubbers, start your engines!!

SDF1 definitely. But, like JVALK, I live on the wrong end of the country, no way in hell I will make the con. BTW - I think I should get one for free since you stole the logo we had made for the Paul Champagne case thread....
-
Hmm, I wonder how much they plan to soak us for that. At least the box looks good. BTW - continuing the "no surprise" theme, I saw some 1/144 Strike models in Target the other day.

Just read the first post, guess I'll never get my S heads at this point. DOH

Harmony Gold's DYRL official DYRL site?
Mechamaniac replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Movies and TV Series
IF...the pic and sound quality is true DVD, and not crap ass VHS rip. IF...it is the R2 DYRL, finally with good subtitles IF...the package does not say ROBOTECH anywhere on it. IF...they don't dub it over with the lousy Robotech voice actors. IF...they don't cut out ANY scenes so the 12 year olds can watch it. THEN...it will be decent. Personally, I don't care who owns what, it would be great to see them do DYRL the same way that Animeigo did the series. But something tells me that they are going to Robotech it all up to be damned, and release a silly watered down version rife with big fat Tony Oliver, and hurting old Reba West all over it. BTW - If they replace Ai Oboete Imasu Ka with We Will Win, I will burn down HG headquarters, and shoot everyone who runs out of the place trying to escape the flames. -
The smaller red logo is where the case numbers are going to go!. And Paul is working on your design now to be submitted for your commendation, or condemnation

OK, Major Update.... The final design for the Mikimoto box has been approved by Dangard Ace, and is going into production. Here it is....
