  1. I was lucky enough to snag sets 2 and 3 (minus their slipcases) from the same dude on Ebay for $33 apiece shipped!. No need for the slipcases anyway since I have the Champagne MW keepcase. Now, to find set 1 at a reasonable price.
  2. I know these were posted a couple of years ago, but I cannot find them online now... Anyone have a link?
  3. Now could you tell us how you really feel? Well, if I were to do that, I would have to add the following to the end of my statement. ...sucked balls all across town.....like Basara did.
  4. The dude probably has 5 of them anyway, so they will be gone 5 seconds after the dealer's room opens.
  5. I wonder why noone has ever done a custom/conversion to make Basara's big gay VF-19 from Macreoss 7. Especially since the Bandai toy sucked balls all across town.
  6. Now, how is everyone going to display their cases? I'm tempted to put mine on the revolving base I got from VF-1X back when they were in biz so I can see all the sides.
  7. Cool, now you just have to find a way to suspend the HARO's in mid air around her like they always were in the series.
  8. Noone else has had the choppy video problem? I did, under two different players, both fully updated, while the RAW file worked flawlessly...
  9. The Knight Bus was well done overall. They could have portrayed the inside of it a little better, it was supposed to be much larger inside. But overall, it was cool, the only effect I wish they would have left in were the BANG!!, transitions since every time the bus did that, they wound up in another portion of the country. The way they changed the location of the willow, and Hagrid's hut irked the crap out of me. Buckbeak did indeed rock. Sorry, I didn't mean BAD effects. The effects were spectacular as usual. What I was referring to were the things that by all rights SHOULD have been magic that were not. Like the adhesive butterfly stitches on Hermoine's cheek when Madam Pomfrey would have just healed them on the spot. And the slow panning shot past the fountain in the courtyard that they showed so much where you could see the pipe that the fountain sprung from when it SHOULD have been happening magically. The whole point of Hogwarts is that the whole place is enchanted, from the spells protecting the grounds to the ghosts that roam the halls etc. While the effects were great, I think that the kids were too normal this time around. In each of the books, Harry is still in awe of the magic spells he comes across, the magic he witnesses, and the power of his own magic. In this movie, they seemed to start off saying, OK, we all know we're wizards, so let's just run around take it for granted, which is not how they did it in the books. Dumbledore was way off. Noone can fill Richard Harris's shoes to be sure. But my main problem is that Michael Gambon was almost not even there. Richard Harris was either very tall, or they made him out to be as Dumbledore. He was always the tallest person in every scene he was in, and rightfully so. Dumbledore is supposed to be very old, very tall, very thin, and command enourmous respect. Michael Gambon did a fine job, but IMHO, they changed too much about Dumbledore's appearance, he was wearing very plain robes, he was far too animated since Dumbledore is supposed to be very ancient, and he just did not have the presence that Dumbledore should have had. Yes on all counts, though I was actually a little refreshed that they moved through the Dursley portion of the story rapidly. Rowling usually takes a good while to preface things in the books, when in this one it really wasn't necessary. I loved the effect of the dementors, and Harry's patronus spell, (even though the stag is supposed to run around, and charge at the Dementors, not just stand there and glow, and blow them all away ) Gary Oldman was astounding, I knew he would be. Of course, by now, everyone knows what happens to Sirius in Book 5. So my wife was bawling every time Sirius was on the screen. Snuffles the dog was good, but a little spindly. Rowling described it as being huge, "an enormous, pale-eyed, jet-black dog." David Thewlis was indeed awesome as Lupin, though I wasn't too fond of the Werewolf design. Timothy Spall was the PERFECT choice for Pettigrew!. Emma Thompson was great as Trelawney, but they dicked up her classroom. Rowling described it as being stiflingly hot, and IMHO, they could have gone a long way with a little artificial haze or something to make it look steamy, and the spiral staircase is off, supposed to be a ladder. All in all, the end result of the movie was the same, but IMHO, this one did not do nearly as good a job as the previous films of "transporting you into that world". I know that's a hard concept to describe, but the Columbus films made me feel like a little kid when I watched them, I was in as much awe as Harry was. This one just didn't have that feeling.
  10. I got mine in no time flat, under an hour. The video is really choppy in this one for some reason when I play it in WMP 9, or DiVX player 2.5.3. The RAW file I got last night works fine. Looks like there's something wrong with the way they encoded this one.
  11. Having seen the movie, and with Prisoner of Azkaban being my favorite of the series thus far, I can truthfully say...MEH. IMHO, here are the following..... Highlights... David Thewlis - Lupin Gary Oldman - Sirius Black Emma Thompson - Trelawney Buckbeak, and the other assorted special effects. Low Points... Michael Gambon as Dumbledore....big shoes to fill, too big in fact, and he didn't even come close. New Director - He should have stuck with Y Tu Mama Tambien. The lack of certain effects, like an obvious pipe in a fountain that by all rights should be magic, and require no pipe, and butterfly stitches over a cut on Hermione's face when there is a nurse in the school that heals that kind of stuff on the spot. All in all, a good movie, but by far the worst yet of the Potter series.
  12. So, you want to put your animeigo slipcase inside the Champagne box?. I don't think it has that much tolerance top and bottom, but ultimately, someone will have to try it out. The Champagne boxes are designed to hold the 9 Animego DVD's, DYRL, FB2012, and the 20th Anniversary DVD.
  13. What he said, but X2.
  14. Got mine today, number 000 . Like Blaine said, just extraordinary as per usual with Paul's cases. I really love the top, the way the metal sheen shows in the Macross logo!. Truly great.
  15. Sw33t! Hopefully mine will be waiting for me when I get home!
  16. I could have not said it better myself. Domestic Macross products at cheep prices. No more extra Hong Kong shipping fees. Dream on lil dreamer.... You know damned well that if a Yammie 1/48 ever hit US shores, it would fall into that ultra collector category, and could only be had at small scale mom n pop hobby stores, and anime stores and the US MSRP would be at least $149.99. You would never see more than a few of them since their price point is so high. So, in other words, since you can find Yammie 1/48's in those types of places now, and at those prices, nothing would change except you'd have more Engrish on the box. And even if I am totally wrong on that issue, you will never see them lined up on the shelves of your local Toys R Us, Macross (even Robotech) is not that popular in the states to the general public.
  17. Just received notification from Paul.... THE SDF CASES HAVE STARTED SHIPPING!!!!
  18. On a related note, has anyone done any repaints, touch ups, or custom jobs on any of these figs?
  19. IMO, those are reasons TO buy it... Is that moron Casper Van Dien in it?, jeebus what a dolt that guy is. I think I'll just stick to the book.
  20. I think we're still in the 30's somewhere despite the hundred or so that "said" they were interested...
  21. You got me... to be quite honest, I don't mind one bit if I got the highest number or whatever. I'm just psyched to see some of my Photoshop work be put on such a cool box. If anybody deserves box #1 of each- it's Mechamaniac. Yeah, I did some "work" but the amount of effort in organizing and emailing all parties he's done - it's a lot more effort than I've done. From conceptualizing the idea and getting it going to tracking down Garoquel for the site logo, he's really seen this thing from start to finish. Good job, man. Go buy yourself a beer or something. Thanks mang, don't worry, you and Dangard Ace are getting boxes number 001 of your respective cases. From what I understood from Paul, the rest of the numbers would be by the order in which they were received etc. Ultimately, I feel the same way you do, I could have whatever number, and it would be cool with me. I'm just psyched to see the first true Macross World commemorative item come to fruition. Go Macross World!
  22. Holy crap, you didn't snag one?? Where is this dealer?, I'll snag one, and let you know if it's crap or not!
  23. No, to me it looked dark green, but I'm shade colorblind like a mofo Gray it is!
  24. I love that Green, it really looks good. Nice too, to see the J head get some lovin!
