  1. So, then the rumors of the color variations were indeed false eh?
  2. Nice to see this thread is still "steaming" along!
  3. Y'see that's the part that makes me nervous.... Granted, that is a stellar reason for them to make the Beta. However, given that they don't have an existing toy to steal their design from, this one would almost certainly have to be actually designed by Toynami. We have all seen the crap they squeeze out when they try to make copies of other people's designs. I shudder to think about the monstrosity they would create if left to their own devices to design the Beta. If they had wanted to do that, they should have just paid him and licensed his 1/32 Alpha project from the get go instead of threatening him, and forcing him to quash the project. THOSE would have sold like hotcakes. I can scarcely imagine how beautiful an Alpha/Beta combo would be if designed by John Moscato.... Thanks to HG, we will never see it.
  4. Yup, just more of the old..."buy crap product A, and we'll make crap product B" rationale.
  5. Indeed you do.... First, I count at least 12 non super 1/48's, but only two sets of Fast Packs!. Get on the ball man! I mean, 10 more sets of Armor will only cost you another $600 bucks, and considering what you've already spent on 1/48's alone, that should be chump change. Also, I feel that I have to call attention to the fact that you're insulting your Yamato valks by keeping MPC's within 5 miles of them! Other than that, NICE stuff!
  6. Well, to be fair, I was there 14 years ago, times have changed perhaps... At least where I was, there were decorations up everywhere, and lots of Christmas stuff in the stores. Then again, it was near a large Military base, so the local populace was probably either more Americanized, or catering to the base population.
  7. Sorry, but that's a gay looking mech, I'll pass this one up no matter what the price.
  8. [soapbox] I seriously hope you're not considering using an AR for home defense. Or...if you are, I hope that you don't live in any sort of Townhouse/Row House neighborhood, or a single family neighborhood where the houses are close together. Even slowed down ALOT, 5.56MM will still penetrate sheet rock like a hot knife through butter, and I'm sure you'd rather not drill one of your neighbors accidentally. [/soapbox]
  9. Note to self... NEVER buy ANYTHING that DanGAGT offers up for sale...
  10. Actually, I was thinking about Tanaka dressed as Char in Otaku no Video...
  11. True dat... And for $967 bucks, you could be most of the way towards a nice Les Paul or Strat, and about half way towards a PRS. I have to agree, if I were a rock star, this would TOTALLY be in my collection, but I doubt it sounds very good. And for the money, no way in hell.
  12. Yeah!! That's it..... Blame Canada! Blame Canada! With all their beady little eyes And flappin' heads so full of lies Blame Canada Blame Canada We need to form a full assault It's Canada's fault! Oh, and the live action Gundam movie will SUCK.
  13. %%*$@@ you guys! Put me down for a set
  14. OK, I lived in Japan for two years, and I know that Christmas is a big deal there too. So, I was wondering if anyone has seen any Macross, or Gundam, or Anime in general Christmas ornaments? eBay revealed nothing, as did Google. I just think it would be sweet to have a little Gundam threatening my other ornaments with certain destruction! Yeah, I could make one, I know, but I figure there has to be something official out there?
  15. Bah, the 1/60's suck anyway. 86 those suckers, and get yourselves some 1/48's
  16. I hope you're right, but IF Yamato does the GBP right, then it will be a huge chunk of plastic and die cast. IF they do it right, then it better have all the main hatches open, and all removeable missiles/grenades etc. IF they do it right, it should have removeable engine covers for the booster packs, and perhaps even for the leg or arm armors. Now, the Die Cast is questionable, more than likely they will use the same die cast pins they use to connect the booster packs in the FP set, and that will be the bulk of the die cast content. IF all that happens, then I bet it will be pretty spendy. Like I said, I hope you're right, but I will be absolutely floored if it comes in under $100.
  17. Actually as prone as even the refined nosecones are to falling off, I would prefer to remove it since undboutedly, it would fall off once you had the armor on anyway, and you would have a rattling part rolling around in the crotch! My only worry now is how much this baby will cost! I would estimate at least $125 for the Armor alone, and bundled with a 1J -
  18. I have to admit - That blows! Overall though, I'm happy with the F91 DVD, it was worth 20 bucks for me.
  19. Ah, but you see the crap ass animation they usually show is it's own "style" these days... As to F91, got my copy tonight, is it supposed to come minus a lineart or program book insert?
  20. Yup, basically, JFK was the Slick Willie of his era. The only reason his illicit doings stayed hush hush is because he was inadvertently martyred. Had he stayed in office, Slick Willie would have had to work for his "most scandalous" record.
  21. I think it's more of a human interest thing than a political statement or a "game". Like I said, it's the after the shot stuff that makes it interesting. You can replay the scenerio from about 15 different angles, including bullet's eye view, grassy knoll, zapruder film etc etc. Then once that is done it takes you to a 3d rendering of the vehicle with all the historical people inside it, and shows a shot by shot trajectory breakdown. To top it all off, they have an online contest and if you score hits on JFK closest to the actual wounds he suffered, you win a hundred grand!. Tasteless? - sort of, but the guys that made it are limeys, so what do they care?
  22. The game is basically a re-creation, of all of the things you mentioned, but it lets you fire the shots, then analyze them.
  23. OK, so this is all the rage in today's news.... www.jfkreloaded.com I downloaded it (which I'm sure puts me on several watch lists ) and I thought the game to be pretty darned interesting. It's not terribly challenging, but for all the instant replay and after the shot data you get, it's definitely cool, and worth $9.99. Wondering if anyone else here has it, or what your (NON-POLITICAL) opinions were.
  24. Man, I don't even have mine yet, and j00 guys are bringing me down! I was excited about getting this. Ultimately though, I would rather have the official release than a horribly subbed bootleg, and I don't have a LD player (haven't had one since oh...1990 or so) so I'll be getting it anyway.
