  1. Please keep your hands inside the car at all times, and DON"T FEED THE TROLLS! At least BOK took my comment and decided to make a joke out of it. It was just a regurgitated Lewis Black joke after all. Seriously, who cares?. Let the Robotechies exist in their twisted little world. The ones who want to find the truth will find it. As to the other ones, hey, let them buy all the MPC's and garbage that HG puts out. It just leaves more good product for the rest of us. Robotech and Macross - Never the twain shall meet. It's like Palestine and Israel, there will never be any lasting peace or understanding, it just is as it is.
  2. Still gotta be better than the subs on the HK DVD sets though, right? Graham Well, as a total newcomer to Zeta, I can say that so far, I love the set. Yes, the subs are closer to the English dub, but then, I think that is to be expected. I am not such a purist that I want to see every last word translated literally from the Japanese. That's how you wind up seeing lines like... "In a place like this?" 8000 times during a given series. You have to expect that if they are going to reengineer the set for a US release, that they are going to match the subs to the dubs for the most part. That's at least what most of the other US release Gundam titles have been like. IMHO, it's still better than buying an HK boot, and way better than shelling out 5 times as much for the R2 set with NO subs OR dubs, and having to depend upon visuals only.
  3. I know I'm almost alone here, but I actually like when the mobile suits make big mechanical noises. Is it scientifically accurate? no, but then, neither are 65 foot tall robots.
  4. Actually, I think he's pulling duty these days as Macek's personal ball washer.
  5. iPods are neat and all, but I haven't been a walkman type of guy since the 80's. Plus, they're ballz expensive, making them even more impractical for me. But hey, if you're one of those blessed people who have time to listen to music through headphones, more power to ya!. The only time I have is on my way home from work in my car.
  6. WooHoo! Mine was waiting for me today when I got home...
  7. On a related note.... IMDB finally has Ace Combat 5 listed. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0436034/ I knew I heard some familiar voices in there...
  8. I'd hover in GERWALK over the traffic bound masses, and laugh at them while I chucked my empty Starbucks coffee containers out of the cockpit, sending them plummeting down onto the windshields of the hapless. Oh, and Popsicle Orange VF-1D all the way.
  9. Personally, I like Evangelion, but IMHO, the last two episodes sucked. Not because they didn't make sense, but because they did not fit with the rest of the series. I mean, the first 24 episodes were (to me anyway) standard giant robot fare with an interesting back story thrown in. Then all of the sudden, the last two episodes hit, and I found myself wondering if I was watching the same series. In all, the ending made sense, but I wish Anno had done it in a different way, or built up to it a little more so we would have seen it coming.
  10. And so, now Neil Sedaka has written lyrics for Anime OP themes.... Small freaking world man.
  11. According to UPS, mine is 5.50 lbs. And on schedule for tomorrow delivery....
  12. Worse yet, these are most likely in Japanese sizes, so the XXXL will probably just barely fit my 110 pound wife. In all, the jacket is just pretty standard besides the button closure, not worth $240.00
  13. Mine shipped from DDDVD. Estimated arrival date - Tomorrow. Glad I paid the extra 6 bucks for 2 day shipping!.
  14. Sw33t. Of course, they probably only cost about $85,000 bucks each.
  15. Mechamaniac

    Huge SDF1

Holy crap, that thing went for $330.00? If you dig cardboard that much, you could just make one yourself out of some old boxes. It's not like it's very accurate. Fools and their money man...
  16. Damn!, and I thought I was good when I polished off Evangelion in a week! Do you ever sleep?
  17. I've seen the ending, but only on CN, not the original, and never enough of the series continuously to really get a feeling for how good or bad the ending was. I like Trigun, and would like to get it on DVD, but they want too damn much for that box set, and I'd rather not support the bootleggers since the R1 is available.
  18. Still pissed about the Dimebag incident eh? Take it to PM or piss off dude.
  19. Does endings like Trigun count? I don't feel qualified to comment on Trigun since I have never actually seen ALL of it from beginning to end. But, from what I have seen, it seems like it ends pretty well. They at least seem to build up to it pretty well. ? I also think it's important to point out that this only seems to happen with the newer series. Like alot of the stuff from the mid 90's leading up to present day. The worst letdown for me was Witch Hunter Robin. That series was great right up until the ending, which you never saw coming, and in the end was treated just like any other episode, but leaving you with a completely ambiguous, crapass ending. "I guess Robin and Amon are just out there......somewhere........" WTF?!?!?!
  20. Well, I'd hate to see HG bastardize the original. And I stand by my solemn vow that if they ever release DYRL with big fat Tony Oliver, and Reba West's voices, I will burn down the building, and shoot all of those who try to flee the flames. Ultimately though, I have my DVD set already so it's no skin off my nose.
  21. I used to do it marathon style, but found I missed too much due to fatique, and just plain passing out, and missing several episodes at a time. Now, I try and hit one or two a day. I usually get to work, and watch one before I start off. Helps that I usually get to work at least 30 minutes early. Just curious to see how others have viewed their anime series that they have on DVD or Fansub download or what have you.
  22. Yes, but the third was a joke intended to poke fun at those incredibly popular, and yet totally crap anime series. And I think what Godzilla is trying to point out is that these days, all too many anime series seem to run great until all of the sudden, they end on a sudden, and totally inconsistent note. It's like the producers are just running them for as long as they bear monetary fruit, and then ending them with a roll of the dice, and a cookie cutter ending.
  23. I totally agree. Anime endings for me anyway, lump into one of two categories... 1) Floating in goo pondering existence.... Evangelion Gasaraki Akira Macross Zero 2) They must've run out of money at the last second... Witch Hunter Robin OR,they never end Inu Yasha Dragonball Ad Nauseum
  24. Yeah, I know, I hate fanboys that whine using that phrase as well. Which is why I poked fun at it.
  25. Hey, here's a thought.... Why doesn't someone post the missing songs for download? I have never heard them since I have never seen Zeta, but am curious to. That way, we could make up our own minds as to whether or not Bandai is raping our childhood (or adulthood). On another note.... My order is processing with DDDVD - finally!
