The Official Yamato VB-6 Monster Thread

Yeah, we need more transformation videos... Ahh, the good ole days of MW -
Yup, for an ugly ass Bling Bling valk too. That Valk might as well have a big clock around its neck, and a ball cap on sidewayz.

Amen... If anything at all, I want to see the Series Logo. Text just gets annoying.

Hey Dobber, what's the packaging like? Standard Jewel Case type? Can you snap a pic of yours? Thanks!

Actually, IIRC, Graham mentioned that the 1/60 Monster is still on. My guess for the 1/60th is that it will either never happen, or IF it does, I bet it will be a Dengeki Mail in Special like the Helmets and Shoulder Pads etc. It's already agreed upon that the thing is going to be spendy, I would say $300.00 is a very conservative estimate. So, I bet it turns out to be a Japan only exclusive if anything at all.

WOW, that looks great! And FINALLY, some validation for me!. I spent the better part of 30 hours (yes, I kept track) cleaning, shaping, sanding, and re-scribing panel lines on the 21. The night before the Macross Panel at Otakon last year, I went to hot glue it together just to do a quick mock up and display it for the panel. At that point, I realized that most of the parts had no hope of fitting together accurately without even more MASSIVE alterations. I realized at that point that I was out of my league, and I gave up. And I thought I was getting so close!! It should be noted that the fit problems were not the result of the efforts of Jesse or MSLZ22's recasts. Rather, just the fact that resin kits, especially of this size and caliber, are for experts only. Sadly, I just lacked the skillz, and was tired of vacuuming up piles of resin dust and shavings every night after hours of ignoring my family. It makes me feel good that someone as awesome as Kurt recognized what a struggle it is to build one of these monsters.

Yeah, some of the subs on the FX Mac 7 set were pretty bad. I couldn't decide if I was more annoyed or amused when, for several episodes in the first box set, they kept referring to "Planet Dance" as "PARRY STANCE" ! But overall, they are good, and I love the packaging, and the discs themselves. Definitely a good deal considering that we'll never see a US release. Please, do tell!. I'm a bit skeptical as to the vid quality if they are all on one DVD, but if the price is right, and the subs are good, I'll give it a shot.

Ahh, cool, I didn't know FX did a version. I too have their M7 boot, so I'll go for that one.
-
OK, I don't condone bootlegging, but hey, BW gave us no choice here. So, has anyone picked up all five eps of Zero in a set yet?. They're all over Ebay, but I'd like to get one that has some half decent subs etc. Thanks,

I still see those 0083 ships in Kay Bee toys from time to time in the $5.00 bargain rack.

She's a beaut!, but whenever I see a car like that, I just gotta quote.... Marcus Burnett: Hey man where-where-where's your cup holder? Mike Lowrey: I don't have one. Marcus Burnett: What the f- w'you mean you don't have one? Eighty thousand dollars for this car and you ain't got no damn cup holder? Mike Lowrey: It's $105,000 and this happens to be one of the fastest production cars on the planet. Zero to sixty in four seconds, sweetie. It's a limited edition. Marcus Burnett: You damn right it's limited. No cup holder, no back seat. Just a shiny dick with two chairs in it. I guess we the balls just draggin' the F along.

How The Sith Stole Christmas

For a minute there, I thought you were talking about the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special.. -
I was just about to say the same thing! Except that I was in the Army, so I never caught a ride from the Navy anywhere to go kill bad guys. The Army usually gets it's rides from the Air Force.

Gotta say, I'm not really a fan of the scopedog, but THAT is really freaking cool!

First shots of Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux.
Mechamaniac replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
UGH, can't they leave just one animated series actually ANIMATED? Besides, if Hollywood likes the artwork of Aeon Flux enough, then the next thing you know, we'll be seeing gayness abound in REIGN - The Motion Picture. -
The Official Yamato VB-6 Monster Thread

Aaaah.... I for one am happy that I really don't like the Koenig Monster anyway. IF I were to buy one, it would never leave "gerwalk" mode since to me, that is the way a Monster SHOULD BE. I may snag one at some point, but will probably just wait for the 1/60 Monster. -
It is a question that until recently we thought had been answered. Miriya was always the Robotech version. Millia was always the official canon - Macross version. Then...... Yamato released the 1/48 Millia VF-1J, 1/60 Q-Rau, and CM Miria sets, and proudly printed MIRIA on the boxes! Confusion ensued. So, basically, it comes down to what Yellowlightman said, it's an R thing, we wouldn't understand.

Highlander: The Immortal Edition
Mechamaniac replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Highlander 2 sucked, no matter which version you see. Even without the removed references to the Planet Zeist, we're still left with over the top villains on flying skateboards, dressed in some comglomeration of costumes from Masters of the Universe, Hellraiser, and Dark City. Plus, it has Michael Ironside!, that guy has got to be one of the worst actors ever. IMHO, the real problem that ALL of the sequels suffered is that in every case, the bad guy actor TRIED desperately in vain to act like a bigger badass than Clancy Brown did as the Kurgan. Here's a hint - The Kurgan was the baddest mofo EVER in the highlander series, if not in all movies. None of them even came close to topping Clancy Brown's performance. The fact that Ironside tried, then Van Peebles tried, and both failed, should have been enough of a clue. The director's commentary from the first Highlander film said that other actors and staff were actually afraid to go near Clancy when he was in character as the Kurgan. The series was really quite good IMHO. The only problem that it really suffered from was that they played off the original movie ending too nonchalantly. They basically said that the Kurgan was the baddest of the bad, but not THE baddest of the bad, so Connor's victory only provided a brief lull in the game. The series worked for what it was meant to do. It was brought about due to fan demand for more depth into the storyline, and ultimately, it answered alot of "what if" type of questions. Highlander - Endgame was the best movie next to the original. However, had only the original been made, then that still would have been OK. The original movie comes full circle as a good story should, and there really was no need for any more embellishment. -
Wow, does that thing look like the tanks in Patlabor or what?

Nothing like an underage girl with parents who have no compunction with killing lots and lots of people.
