  1. no pic? Tis fixed...
  2. Actually, I kind of like the non-canopied version too. Looks like it could be a drone or ghost fighter variant.
  3. Then, and only then, can you call yourself... THE OTAKING!!
  4. While it is never said that the Meltrandi have gone over to the side of culture, I think the facts speak for themselves. Max duels Millia, and Max wins. Or at least, is the least bloodied by the fight. He gets trapped when the Meltrandi ship folds. Now, up until that point the Meltran seemed to kill just about everything they saw. This leads me to believe that Max and Millia's dual awakening IE the "Utsukushii" scene, probably led to some sort of awakening of culture aboard at least that Meltrandi ship, so I think by the time of the final battle, they are fighting on the side of culture. Before that, they were just figting the Zentraedi, so either way, they were already sort of on "our side". The enemy of my enemy is my friend after all. If they were not, I think they would have squished Max into oblivion about ten seconds after they found out he was on board.
  5. Here's a pic of the sacrificial lamb VF-1J that's on it's way to Captain America... Everyone wave goodbye!
  6. I have been for two years, that's why I PM'd the Cap'n! EDIT - Well, I just got a sacrificial VF-1J, and it should be on it's way to the Cap'n shortly.
  7. See HERE for what details there seem to be.
  8. Yeah, I guess that means no series 3 Macross CM's figs...
  9. Thanks for the Garland pics!! That Garland looks so sweet, I forgive Yamato for selling us down the river on the Macross line. As long as I get a Garland (or a few)
  10. Look at my sig.. I'm gonna make my own!!
  11. Thanks Cap!! Since the interest is SOLID, can we pin this thread?
  12. Well, it's a little early yet, but the kits will most likely be made from resin. Regarding the parts themselves, given the significant differences between the single and double seat valks, I would say that it will probably contain... An entirely new fuselage section. New cockpit details, chairs, and pilots. New canopy. New Chestplate New Head. New BP8 (head hatch). If we do the VT-1 or the VE-1 then the kits will contain all of the above PLUS... New boosters New Leg Armors Add on parts for VE-1 (Radomes etc) That being said, you will probably have to have a moderate amount of skill in assembling/disassembling the Yamato 1/48 toy, and Painting will definitely be required since none of the two seater valks are even close in color to any of the current toy versions. But, until we actually get further along on this, and Captain America starts designing etc, there's no way to tell how many parts there will be etc. Hope this helps.
  13. Proto type version was there. This time it was displayed in battroid Mode (Robot?) Rob Sweet!!! Thanks Rob!
  14. Sucks about the Macross stuff, though not unexpected news to be sure. Any news on the Garland?
  15. Well...Bad news from WF No Macross goodies anytine soon. More reason for us to hop on this project!
  16. I voted yes. Dependent upon price. And I think AlphaHX is on to something. Assuming you're going to kitbash a Club M 1/48 or one of the Club M recasts etc. You would probably be better off to make the necessary parts so that the builder could make EITHER a Blazer OR the Fire Valk since the differences are subtle especially in fighter mode.
  17. I'd be down with either the VF-1D or the VT-1 Super O. An Elint would be a distant third for me as well. Ultimately, I don't care what we make, as long as we get some dang two seater Valks!!

It'll be between $75-100.00 2 - TIME FRAME - WHEN WILL YOU START THE CONVERSION KIT? -Probably sometime in late May. This is, however, tentative; so it could very wel be the 1st, second week of june, depending on existing projects. 3 - WHO WILL BE CASTING THESE? (anyone local, Rohby, Myersjesse, MSLZ22 etc) -I'll be molding/casting everything myself, and I'll be using a high-impact polymer instead of regular resin 4 - HOW LONG DO YOU KEEP THE MOLDS? For as long as they usually last, which is for rougly 35-45 castings. 5 - HOW MANY WOULD IT TAKE FOR YOU TO DO MORE PAST THE INITIAL PRODUCTION RUN? 20 or more 6 - WILL YOU DO PILOT FIGURES? (Minmay Figure) This is about the only point I'm still iffy on; I never cared for sculpting microscopic figures, it's not my bag. So, there you have it, I think that covers most of the questions in a nutshell. I am going to update the first page of this thread as well. 2/22/05 - Yeah, it's only been a few days, but this thread is growing fast!. So, quick update #1 - A sacrificial VF-1J valk has been obtained by myself, and is being sent to Captain America for the initial phase of review and early design. 2/23/05 - Decals for the VF-1D conversion kits will be made by none other than...ANASAZI37!! 4/14/05 - Project is still on track, see Page 12 for update. OK, well, as most of you probably know, the Champagne box sets are in production, which means....I need a new quest. The general consensus around here seems to be that Yamato isn't going to come through for us on two seater 1/48's. Or, at the very least, they aren't going to come through any time soon. All that is on their Macross horizon is the 1/48 GBP, and the more than likely defunct 1/100 VF0. Many of us fear that their Macross days are nearing the end. So, I have contacted our very own John Moscato (Captain America) to see if he would be interested in making a two seater conversion kit for the Yamato 1/48 toys. For those of you (as if there are any) who are not familiar with Cap'n's work, he is the genius who made the 1/72 Valk Booster and the 1/18 Tachikoma projects become reality. He has indicated that as long as we don't mind waiting a few months, then he is more than willing to take on this project!. Cap mentioned June at the earliest that he would be able to get cranking on this, so there is no rush, and noone wants your money right now. So, I propose that we start small, with a VF-1D conversion kit. This would entail a new head sculpt, a chestplate modification, and nosecone/cockpit modifications. Since the VF-1D has no specialized Fast Packs, or staggered cockpit, it seems to be the most logical place to start. I decided not to make this a poll, cuz, well, after the poll vs pay ratio of the Champagne box project, polls don't seem to count for much around these parts... So, let the discussion begin. IF you are interested, let's get some buzz going!
  19. Just a question to see if anyone else is watching this series. I stumbled across the character bios etc in the Jan issue of Newtype, and decided to give the series a shot. So far, I am enjoying it quite a bit. Anyone else?
  20. Yes, but which one of your 1/48's is your favorite?? I'm with Graham on this one. My 1/48 Hikaru 1S with Strike Packs in fighter mode.
  21. Agreed. The character art looks fantastic, too bad they have to ruin it with stubby SD gayness.
  22. Well, my kids are 7 and 2, so for right now I'm going to stick with Miyazake's stuff as it is very kid friendly for the most part. They are hooked on Totoro, and Kiki's Delivery Service. Maybe when they get older I will introduce them to Macross, but they are both Girls, so I don't know how well it will take.
  23. Sounds like something Jeff Spicoli would say.
  24. Those damn Russkies! We Americans would never do anything like that! (MG-42 - M60)
  25. Cool, IIRC, the Soviets had a newer version of this back in the 80's/90's. The Jane's book we had in the scif referred to it as the "Destroyer" or something along that line. I'm not sure if that was an official NATO designation or something those silly limeys came up with who make the Jane's books.
