But the Wings are different from the VT vs VF-1D. Jesse just really wants to do the VE/VT instead of the 1D..

Overall, very nice, but a couple of har har funny kind of things... Like the person who is apparently refueling the valk by hand out of a 55 gallon drum...The forkift.... Something tells me they would have some more advanced vehicles in a hangar on board the Macross. Funniest of all is the guy who is apparently hand loading the GU-11 with what appear to be 155 MM howitzer rounds.

Finally, another large caliber aficionado! I'm with you man, if I had my choice, I would leave the itty bitty 5.56mm behind. I'm a former 60 gunner myself, and I appreciate the value of a larger, man stopping round. Having humped 28 pounds of M60 over all kinds of terrain myself, I know where you're coming from.l I'm also an avowed aficionado of the M14, G3, and would LOVE to have an FAL. Keep your M16's, M4's etc etc, Give me something in 7.62 any day. -
Yes, and therein lies the problem... No matter what the lineart says, look at the Hasegawa pic above, the flat portion of the tail section is parallel with the fuselage. Therefore, either we make new shorter tailfins, or modify the backpack so that the flat portion folds down to lay parallel with the fuselage as shown. Either way, the backpack or fins are gonna have to be modified.

Try this link. http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2modproject/toys/mo...arison/pics.htm Cool, thanks!! So...from left to right it's MPC, IMAI 1/48, and Super Poseable right? Also, I have heard that the early pics of the MPC's in Fighter mode where they look all bent in the middle were due to improper transformation?. Does anyone have a pic of one properly transformed?. IE - NOT bent in the middle.

D'oh sorry.. The rear seat in most modern combat jets is designated for the NFO (Naval Flight Officer) or the RIO (Radar Intercept Officer). In many cases, the rear seat is stepped so that the rear seat provides better visibility for the observer/instructor. EDIT - In the Macross universe, the VT-1 is a trainer, so it would be for the Instructor or, the hoochie mama you take out on a joyride.
-
The VT and VE cockpits bubble up because the cockpit is stepped, so the RIO seat is elevated from the forward seat.... As to the antennae on the VF-1D, see here... the antenna fins are side by side on the head hatch.....

That lineart pic definitely needs to be in this thread... And while we won't need new tailfins for the VE or the VT, there will either need to be a new backpack piece, or new metal mounting pins for the Packs since the angle of the packs definitely needs to change on the VE or the VT. Anyone know how to die cast?, Those pieces are probably metal for a reason...

Can you add the black shapes for the chest and top of the head since these kits will have to be painted?.

Oh that reminds me... thanks for the hash and crack package....it was the best shipment yet! I still can't feel my left arm! Oh and stop smoking half the merchandise! A 1/48 Prometheus??? Just stop! SHHHHHHH!!! I told you keep that under wraps. That's it I am cutting you off! Yes i can build a 1/48 prometheus. My initial calculations say it can be a size of the car. (Or so I think). I hope you're joking... The Prometheus is 512 Metres or 1680 Feet Long. At 1/48 scale, your "car" would have to be 35 feet long. Better start thinking about an 18 wheeler! Makes me think of that Rebel Blockade runner that dude made to scale with the 4 inch Star Wars figs...

I think it has more to do with the script, Lucas apparently can't write a decent script to save his life. Not to mention, the romance scenes bewteen Anakin and Amidala in EpII proved that Lucas has no comprehension on how people actually interact with each other. Nor can Lucas write anything to save his life... Sorry, but every time I look at his character names, I get the impression that he wrote this crap when he was 12 years old. Lucas in a writing session - Hmmm, we need some bad guys, OOOH, I know, Darth MAUL, that sounds menacing, OOOH, General GRIEVOUS, even better!. We need a fat guy, OOOH, PORKINS! The original movies are entertaining, but the new ones have sucked ass, and IMHO, Lucas is pretty much an unoriginal f*ck.

Looks nice... Well, at least they still have PLANS to make it...

I for one am not worried about getting 1/48's to customize. That is the good thing about hating the 1A head, plenty of custom fodder out there. And yeah, $75 a kit is an AWESOME price point, and well worth it. Doubling that for the Super O and Elint is more than fair as well considering what would have to be done to make those kits. Can't wait to see the baby steps of this project.

Thanks BSU. Truth be told, the P14 was merely an indulgence. I was trained on the standard 7 shot 1911A1 when I was in the MP's. I qualified with it a number of times, and to be honest....if I can't hit em in 7 shots, then I deserve to have my ass handed to me. However, the Para pistols are just so cool in that they have not only increased the capacity with little to no added bulk in the grip, but they also add so many of the 1911 tuneups as standards, like the enhanced beavertail safety, the commander style hammer, full length guide rod, ambidextrous safety etc etc. I just dig the way they're built, and the options they pack so that was my primary impetus for snagging it in favor of the standard 7 shot. -

Locating Region 2 (original Japanese) DYRL DVD
Mechamaniac replied to Hurin's topic in Movies and TV Series
Ack! Too late! But that's okay, I'll consider it a collectible. BTW, you noticed where I credit you in the notes for the FX subbing, right? H DOH, ah well, you will appreciate the R2 when you get it, it is well worth the bucks. And no, I hadn't noticed, until now, but umm, it's Mecha MANIAC, not Mecha MECHANIC. Thanks for the props though!. I can't wait to give this a shot. So, back to my original question, are you going to try to do the same for the R2 (slightly longer) version?. I would LOVE to be able to watch that version with these great subs. -
Locating Region 2 (original Japanese) DYRL DVD
Mechamaniac replied to Hurin's topic in Movies and TV Series
What are you looking to do with it?. If you want to sub it similarly to the FX boot, I can lend you my R2 copy. That way you don't have to shell out 90 bucks for it since I already did. LMK. -
Yeah, I feel the same way. I have no doubt that a perfect transormation version is possible, but if I have to live with a detachable heatshield, I have no problem with that at all.
-
So, I was looking at one of my 1/48's last night in Fighter/Gerwalk, and I think the only hiccup that I can forsee with this is the Heat Shield on the 1D. Obviously, the Heatshield has to be longer, and it has to stow under the chestplate/BP hatch when in Fighter/Gerwalk mode. As someone said before, the top of the fuselage is really the only part that needs to be lengthened, this is good since making the bottom of the fuselage longer would throw off the distance between the swing bar pegs, and the mating point at the nosecone for Battroid mode. But, it will be interesting to see how the Cap'n tackles the Heatshield issue. I don't think it's UN-doable, but definitely will be a challenge.
-
OK, someone here posted a pic (I think in the old MPC thread) that showed the MPOS Alpha next to an Imai 1/48 Alpha. Both were in Battroid mode. IIRC, the MPOS was closer to 1/48 scale than it was to Toynami's claimed 1/55. Does anyone have this pic?. That shadow alpha is looking good, and I'm tempted to snag it.

Umm, if that's supposed to be Millia, then they missed the mark by about a mile. Come to think of it, it looks more like whichever one of Max and Millia's daughters showed up in M7 - Galaxy Calling Me. It surely doesn't look like her in the face, at least from that angle. I wonder if there are any better pics out there somewhere?.
-
Who knew???
-
From the looks of it, Ole Sergio is dancing with the wrong gender.
-
Yes, the heatshield definitely needs to be longer. How that will work, IUNNO... I'm leaving that up to the Cap'n. I think pre-coloring for VF-1D colors would be a bad idea. First, trying to paint match any existing color is hard enough, and trying to repaint the rest of a standard valk to match 1D pre colored orange and brown pieces would be a beeyotch. I'd much rather the pieces be molded in a color that closely matches the sacrificial 1J, or any of the standard DYRL valks. That way, even those that lack painting skills could still have a plain jane two seater, or those that have skills, can have a plain white canvas to do whatever they want with.
