Right, and what makes it really fun is that we have at least some input... For example, JSArclight's comment about his hands in this thread would be perfect for a custom title.... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...ic=2210&st=1060

Agreed, he's definitely working from the CM's Roy Figure.
-
Umm, no, that would be an F86 Sabre. Edit, lol, looks like Goshawk and I hit upon the same thought.

That would be my guess as well. It has the appearance of a rather-large-but-partial set that would likely be extended by CGI. What other purpose would an incomplete 1/1 Yamato serve? It's a movie set... Here's proof... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451845/ Oh, not enough proof?... Here's more... http://www.yamato-movie.jp/ Still more... http://www.asahi.com/english/Herald-asahi/...0505140120.html http://www.oshipee.com/omami/e-frame-photo.htm and here are some GREAT shots of the 1/10 model...(under Warships, click on the first image.) http://www.oshipee.com/omami/e-frame-photo.htm So, definitely a movie, I wonder if it will be subbed and released anywhere but Japan? Oh, and at the bottom of the Asahi link, it tells you where you can go see the 1/10 model..and eventually, the 1/1 model!

No, The only 1/1 scale Yamato model is lying in 300 meters of water in the East China Sea. It's in two pieces, so some assembly is required... On a related note, it always amazes me to see battleship wrecks where the turrets have just fallen out as the ship flips on the way down. It still seems odd that the turrets are literally just dropped into place, and held there solely by their own sheer bulk.

Cool, I dig the NP-BP-10 Fast Pack mod!! Sorta like a poor man's GBP armor.
-
The chest looks a bit goofy, but I'm sure it's a functionality issue. They probably have to make the chest so deep so that the missiles can be removeable. I for one, don't care if the missiles are removeable or not, I still think it looks cool, but would rather have the smaller chest.

That model is freaking sweet!. That's over 80 feet long. I wonder where it calls home?. I would totally make that a stop on any trip I was taking to Japan. Too bad they didn't do a 1/10 scale version of the SPACE Battleship Yamato, that would be kewwwwllll.

You'd get two ships that would pummel the hell out of each other, until crippled by passing torpedo bombers. Then they would continue to pound on each other until they both sunk

8 years U.S. Army 5.5 years 98H, Signals Intelligence Interceptor, 1.5 years in training (Fort Dix, NJ, Fort Devens, Mass.) two years at Misawa Air Force Base, Japan. Two more years at Fort Meade, MD. 2.5 years 95B, Military Police, 29th MP Company, 29th Infantry Division (light). Oh, and, noone has mentioned it yet in this thread (and on this day) but thanks to all of you who served or are serving in any capacity. Today is about the guys who never made it back, but we all did our part, and for that, I want to thank you all.

I thought of cutting the sticker, but I don't think it would look right with no background color at all.
-
Cool, thanks! Ultimately, I just stuck the teeth on to see how they would look. That color is really for a Low Viz. I think I'm going to track down some 1/48 scale shark mouth decals with the red background, those would look sweet on Hikaru's J model.

Yeah, that's definitely a recolored period pic. Too bad it's shot from aft as well. Here's the pic, for the error 403 challenged... The original pic can be seen here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_battleship_Yamato As to the real Yamato, here are some interesting pics of the wreck etc... http://www.warship.get.net.pl/Japonia/Batt...o_wreck_01.html http://www.warship.get.net.pl/Japonia/Batt...o_wreck_02.html

Thanks guys! On a related note, someone pointed out that there's a concept sketch of a valk with a gatling gun in Entertainment Bible #27. Anyone got a scan of that pic? I'd like to see how close I may have come to the mark. And yeah, the Gouf cannon fits REALLY well. I just got lucky when I snipped off the front of the GU-11, that I did it at a point where the circumfrence of the pod was pretty much the same as the Gatling. In all, it was a very easy mod. All I did was separate the GU-11 parts, I cut the GU-11 just on the outside (towards the front) of the inner wall pieces that tell the grip where to stop when collapsed into the pod. I cut those pieces out, made a little more room with a big fat drill bit, which also worked to hollow out the walls of the pod just a bit. If anyone's interested, I can put up some pics....
-
Cool that those guys are Macross fans, but isn't that wall scroll a bootleg?
-
Actually, it will still come off. Erik's stickers are resilient enough that you can unpeel it just enough to take the nosecone off. Of course, I wouldn't do it all the time, but every now and then, it's no big deal.
-
Thanks Chris... The shark teeth stickers (and all the others) came from Takatoys custom sticker set. I know they don't match the valk and all, but this J is my knockaround valk anyway, so I have all kinds of different stuff on it. As to the gatling, it's one step closer to my dream of a custom UN Army A-10 style gropo valkyrie.
-
Another, I forgot to extend it in the first few pics...
-
Yeah, upload probs, they're fixed now...

Take one extra gunpod, fold in some scrap parts from a MG Gouf Custom, and whip it together one day when you're bored, and you get this. I started with just adding the gatling barrels, and it looked pretty badass. But I always like to keep a little realism with stuff like this. The GU-11 fires from an internal magazine, and the spent shells eject out of the middle portion. I like to think of this as a modification of the GU-11 to fire twice as much ammo, which requires an external magazine, and feed belt, the ejection port is still the same. Yes, the barrels spin Yes, the GU-11 still collapses. NO - The handle does not collapse into the body (I had to make one sacrifice). Pics...

True, I only mentioned post count becuase I have a vague memory of one of the Mods mentioning custom titles at a certain level back when they first introduced the current member titles. I agree that it should be for the better known members, of course, it sort of governs itself. If a noob shows up, and posts a thousand times saying nothing, then when he/she goes and asks for a title, it is likely that the members with tenure around here will either not know anything about that person and hence, have no suggestions, or they will flat out post titles that will reflect that they know that member to be an empty poster.
