  1. Yeah, you can e-mail them to me if you prefer. Or if you want to transfer them over AIM or something, we could do that as well.
  2. You ROCK Mrs. (Ms.) Father Jack!! Those look awesome, fantastic work!. One question though.....when I mouse over the three on the right they all have the same filename "muchacross_1024x768". So, which resolution is which?.
  3. IIRC, they had conversion pieces with the prototype that Shawn had at MWCon a few years back. If I had to guess why they didn't release them, I would say it is probably becuase Bandai holds (or held) the license for Macross 7 toys.
  4. Yeah, that's one of our guys... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=16995 Sucks too, cuz I need arms for my Bernard Alpha, but his are in worse shape than mine.
  5. That sucks, RIP Morita Sama
  6. I'm anxious to hear Mari doing Minmay in English as well. Hell, anything is better than the screeching harpie they used in Rowboatech. Her English was pretty good at MWCon, and she is SO cute in person despite being over 40. I'm glad she finally got on the Shatner bandwagon, and decided that she might as well make some money from being forever identified with Minmay.
  7. The short answer as I recall is - Good Luck... You can check this thread for possible solutions... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=7776 Short of that, you might PM one of the retailers here, and see if they have a junker lying around that they could take the piece off of, and sell it to you. Alot of them wind up with parts of Valks as they are cool enough to send replacements to cover Yamato's lack of QC. Or, put a post in the Wanted section. I think you'd have better luck doing those, than trying to get anything from Yamato.
  8. Right, I totally forgot about that. Now I can Macrossize my kids!! EDIT - Wait, then they might start eying up my 1/48's and CM's figures and other goodies. Scratch what I said...
  9. Somehow, I doubt that MS is losing money on these. If you calculate all the components at full retail price then maybe. But remember, this is MS. They have their fingers in everyone's pie (read: Their dicks in everyone's ass) and they aren't coming close to paying full retail for a damned thing. Let alone the fact that they are having these things mass produced in a thousand different Chinese sweatshops. Trust me, they aren't losing a dime. Unless of course, Bill Gates suddenly lost his mind, and decided to provide something of value to the consumer after all the years of ripping them off.
  10. No prob, and that is 100% bonafide fact since I have been there firsthand. Here's more proof.... http://www.road-to-the-isles.org.uk/glenfinnan.html
  11. I guess I'll be the first "Yes" vote. As much as I love Macross, I tend to have TV on in the background alot of the time. That being said, it's hard to pick up the nuances of a tv show when you aren't staring at the screen to catch the subtitles. For now, I intend on picking up the first DVD, and seeing how good the dub is. If it's piss poor, and if they have strayed too far from the original dialogue, I will buy no more. However if it's good, then I can always use another Macross set. I have both of the Champagne boxes after all. Also, let's not forget about the QC problems people had with the Animeigo discs, and the reports of them cracking over time etc. It can't hurt to have a backup.
  12. The only reason I was interested in the 360 was because of the built in wi-fi. But since I moved my router, I can now plug my hacked XBOX into it without the need for wi-fi. There are no games worthy of the hardware built into the 360, and one review I read said not to expect any until 2007 or so. That being said, I'll wait until they figure out how to mod out the 360 so I can do the same stuff I do with my current xbox, and I'll snag one when they hit the 1-150 dollar price range.
  13. LOL, how did I know this was going to happen when I mentioned it? Volume 5 - "Oderint dum metuant"
  14. Look for the school aspect even less in this film. I enjoy the school aspect of the books and films too, and for the same reason. However, as the story gets darker, and more serious, the school really only serves as a device to get all the principal characters together in the same place. If you've read book 6, then I'm sure it will come as no shock to you what Harry plans to do in book 7. I was pissed about that at first. Then I went back, and read POA again, and the movie was correct as to the location of Hagrid's cabin etc. Many people have surmised that the location of Hogwarts is indeed Scotland given the length of time they are on the train, and the climate etc. I can tell you from personal experience (because I have been there) that the scenery they use for the area surrounding Hogwarts is from Glenfinnan, Scotland on the shores of Loch Shiel. I was there on my honeymoon years ago, and I actually took a picture of the same curving stone railway bridge featured in movies 3 and 4. Additionally, Glenfinnan has a 19th century rail station that was used for the Hogsmeade station set, and local kids were dressed in Hogwarts uniforms for filming of the movies. Highlander fans will recognize Glenfinnan and Loch Shiel as well
  15. Well, yeah, it's a cool quote. but what does it have to do with the original Macross series? Beyond the obvious, Zentraedi reference. I'm happy to see this English dub is happening, and look forward to hearing Mari do Minmay again (in English) but I hope they don't keep this trend up of making up quotables for each release. What's to stop them from using... Carl Macek was wronged.... Steve Yun is god... Y'know?
  16. Actually, he looks more like Lion-O from the Thundercats to me.
  17. Does anyone know who drew that picture? EDIT - I'm also wondering where they got the title? "Upon the Shoulders of Giants" ???
  18. I will wholeheartedly admit that I held the same opinion as Roy....before I saw the first film. Up until that point, I had always dismissed them as "kids books". But a friend of mine told me I had to see the movie, so I went. What can I say?, the first movie was fantastic, even for a non-fan of the series. It transported you into that world in a way few movies have ever done. It made me want to read the books. And I read all of them (up until book 4 had been released at that time) within two weeks. I've been a fan ever since because it's just a damn good story. Whether they were originally intended for children is irrelevant. 50 years from now, when we're all old geezers drooling over our keyboards, (and Roy is still modding MW ) these books will have reached Lord of the Rings status. I'm not insulting LOTR in saying that, because I am a fan of both series. However, a good story will stand the test of time, and when you boil it down, this one is still your basic good vs evil with the fate of the world hanging on the shoulders of an underdog. It's been told a million times before. Bottom line, I'd rather have my kids watching Anime, and reading Harry Potter than be the "cool" kids going out to see the 50 Cent movie.
  19. Well, you have to crash other people's threads with the word GAY to stay in the AgentONE sycophant's club.
  20. Yup, now, let's all say it together.... !!! EXO !!!! ???
  21. You might be able to avoid that. I thought about trimming a piece of green construction paper, and putting it in the hollow in the front of the head where the visor goes. If you lay the clear visor down on something colored, it shows the color through very well. BTW - Have you polished the canopy yet?
  22. That's funny, because I remember reading an article one time that compared Harry to your average rich kid football bully. I can't remember where it was, but it basically said that because of Harry's fame, money, and skill on a broom, he didn't have to (nor did he try to) excel at anything else. Not quite. He learned the Patronus charm while at school from Lupin in book 3. Though not official lessons, Dumbledore asked Lupin to teach him, just like Dumbledore asks Snape to teach Harry Occlumency in book 5. It just happens that he winds up having to use it outside of school at the beginning of book 5 when the Dementors attack he and Dudley in the alley near Privet Dr. As to him not knowing any of the dueling charms. Yeah, he doesn't. Again, we have to look to book 5 when they form Dumbledore's Army, and Harry starts teaching them REAL defenses against the dark arts. That's also where we begin to see that Neville Longbottom is not all bumbling fool, as he takes to the DA classes very well. No doubt because of what happened to his parents. Yeah, I didn't really miss Dobby either. Is it just me? or did anyone else imagine the house elves looking like the Me Want Honeycomb guy?
  23. I had something similar (though not as destructive) happen myself. I used Squadron putty on the Yamato Valkyrie Launch Arm to putty in the screw holes. I put a little bit on, and minutes later, when I went to wipe off some excess, I found that it had melted the plastic underneath it. I scraped it off, and chucked the entire tube.
  24. Very nice!!! I ran out of paint, and had to order more to complete my Low Viz 1D. Hope it gets here soon so I can get back to it.
