  1. True to some extent, however, Yamato sets the MSRP for their items. Furthermore, they sell their items at a certain dealer cost and no lower, they do that so that they make money. You can only blame certain dealers so much for inflating their own profit margin because they know they can. Bottom line, their toys cost more to the dealers hence they cost more for us. As to the 89 dollar valkyries, remember that you're dealing with an exchange rate here too.
  2. Agreed, the price will never lower, and to be honest as I stated before, these aren't kids toys. However, they are getting to the point where the only adults that will buy them will be the "Otaku No Video" types that live in tiny apartments crammed full of anime stuff and never interact with the outside world. I get collector's level toys and all, but these are reaching the point where anyone with a LIFE beyond saving for and buying toys will either not be able to afford them, or simply choose not to buy them because they'd rather EAT or feed their family.
  3. OK, I've been thinking about this for a while and to be honest I'm too lazy to do all the necessary research but we all know it's been happening for a while so we might as well have a place to rant about it. It's been sticking in my craw ever since Graham's last interview with Yamato and his warning about the expected price of the SV-51... I am wondering why it is that WE are expected to foot the bill for Yamato's R&D? I know that these aren't "toys" in the little kid sense of the word but I think the prices are really starting to reach the ridiculous level here. What's worse, I've seen many a 40 dollar toy that is just as well constructed (if not better) than the $100+++ Yamato toys. Their QC lately with such glaring issues as the VF-0A and the YF-19 with regard to the price point of these toys is bordering on criminal neglect. The disgustingly high price tag of the YF-19 FP Combo and the YF-19 FP Accessories seems like the semi-final FU from Yamato...until the SV-51 comes out and we all bend over yet again. So, there's my rant, KEEP IT HERE and KEEP IT CIVIL. Rant away.
  4. Think I'll stick with the good ol' Gakken.
  5. 11lbs 11oz??? Jesus, did he come walking out with a beer and a cigarette going...."Hey pops, what's up?" Congrats on the new addition!
  6. Yay....just what we need, more Starbuck. Cuz before we just couldn't get enough of that bulldyke, now they're going to make her some sort of prophet or cylon or whatever. Sorry, but she can always be counted on to do pretty much the dumbest possible thing. Given the choice between the shiny button that will save all humanity, and a candy bar made out of dogshit, she'd go for the candy bar. They spent far too much time building her character as the fighter-pilot-with-too-much-to-prove-who-doesn't-care-about-anything blah blah blah for them to turn around now and try and make her interesting. And I am sick to DEATH of the frakking love quadrangle crap between Stardummy, Apollo, Dee and Anders. GET BACK TO THE MAIN PLOT, GET BACK TO ACTUALLY FIGHTING THE CYLONS. Keep it up Moore and Eick, we'll be watching Battlestar Jumpsharktica before long.
  7. Yang is shown in both flyers, so I would imagine so.
  8. Toynami....copying.....an existing design? Bite your tongues! Toynami would never stoop that low. Obviously what has happened here is that Imai engineers developed time travel in the mid 80's, came forward in time and copied Toynami's designs. Some people man....no faith.....toynami rocks....mutter....
  9. Well, I meant post to the main site, but I figured I might as well do them all and get it out of the way. If you're on dial up, shouldn't this page STILL be loading for you?
  10. Apparently, the price of LED's took a steep climb in HK resulting in the price hike.
  11. I think it's because the VF-0 pilot's suit and helmet are so much less bulky than the Mac Plus stuff. Hell consider yourselves luck they aren't making Macross 7 pilots....
  12. Graham gave me these to post so here they are.... Enjoy! Here are the images of the FP & Booster Set that will be available separately... As always, these are also available in the Yamato Toys section. As Graham likes to say, Macross World is more than just forums after all...
  13. What did you use to do the panel lines?
  14. Who wants to be they WON'T find massive doses of drugs in her system?
  15. Maybe it's time for MWCon East Coast style!

  17. Edited topic title - no need to shout
  18. Nothing beats the original Dremel brand. I have a cordless Dremel that has proved to be absolutely invaluable. I have had it for over a year, and have always been able to pull off any project I've been working on with just the attachments that came with it.
  19. Any spray cap will do. Here's what I did... Downloaded Takatoys template, printed it, and cut it out. Took a piece of blue painter's tape, and taped around the section of cap. Traced the template onto the tape and cutout the piece of plastic. From there, you will have to trim it to closer fit, and you will have to bend it more than it's standard arc. However, once you bend it, it will retain it's shape.
  20. Yes I did, thanks for the template, it was invaluable!. You can't really see it in the pic, but it's glossy since I didn't have any flat spray cans. I'm going to snag a can of dullcote and whack it with that.
  21. Here's mine... [attachmentid=40130] The port shoulder isn't as flush as the starboard, but I have shaved off all I am willing to inside which is quite a bit, and shaved down the inside of the calf as well. Shaving down the calf definitely bought me some more flushness. All in all, I'm happy with it. Even if the shoulders don't sit entirely flush, just lowering them 1/8 inch or whatever it was makes it look tons more streamlined in fighter mode. I also did the gunpod fix as well, BRILLIANT Takatoys, thanks! Now I just need to decide if I want to do the wing flap mod, I really like the way it looks, but I don't have any spare plastic that is close enough in color to make up the difference.
  22. Well, I tried it and it worked for me. The only mistake I made was that I tried to separate the shoulder on one of mine resulting in a gap where the glued seam was...stoopid Yamato. Why do they glue crap where they have screws to hold it together...
  23. So you took your shoulders apart, as in split them down the middle etc? They look glued to me, is there a trick?
  24. Has anyone else tried Takatoys shoulder mods? I want to, but it looks like you have to file down a good part of a hinge, so I'm nervous.
  25. Question though...can you do the Tenjin style UNS Logos with the New Edwards text around them etc?
