  1. Captain Beefheart.
  2. I agree with Drifand... The pics of the completed prototype (whenever they show up) better knock me to the floor. For me to shell out $400 plus for one single toy, it better be exemplary. Don't worry though, it's not even slated for release until next year, and we all know how diligent Yamato is when it comes to their production schedule. . I for one hope it takes them a LONG time to complete, that way, we may get a better toy, and we will all have more time to save up. Of course, given the size of this thing, I would not be surprised if it becomes one of those "Japan Only" type of deals.
  3. LOL, I had one of those way back in the day...
  4. Follow this link: http://www.evamonkey.com and here: http://www.evamonkey.com/faq_evaotaku.htm
  5. Great Neil, thanks for the pics!. Now if only I could read all those squiggly little lines .
  6. ROTFLMAO Shouldn't HE be the one paying? Dude, is that an icepick or an oyster knife in the foreground on the right?? Yeah, If I were a chick, I'd bid on a date with the kid with an ICEPICK in his picture!
  7. Bing! What he said, and I forgot to leave out of my last post .
  8. As far as I know the SuperO isn't a "space only" VT... Without the FAST pack it serves the same purpose within the atmosphere. Well, obviously, without the packs, it is an ordinary VF, just unarmed. I'm judging by the only time we ever really see it, which is in space, with packs on. It has been long assumed here on the boards (though there is no official canon source) that the VF-1D was for atmospheric training, whereas the VT-1 SuperO was for Space flight training using Fast Packs. Anyway, I'm reading waaay too much into it!. No in DYRL the VF-1D is replaced VT-1 in all applications. Has it really?, like I said, I don't think there is a canon source that explains it. It has long been surmised around here that.... VF-1D - Atmospheric armed trainer, used for atmospheric flight and mode training, as well as combat tactics, and marksmanship. VT-1 Super O - Space flight unarmed trainer using Fast Packs and verniers etc. It doesn't make sense that the VT-1 would completely replace the VF-1D as it has no armament of any kind, and would not be cost or time effective to retrofit the valk with an armed head unit, and gun and missile pods etc., when you wanted to do some armed training. Not to turn this into another movie within a movie thread . But if there is a canon source for that, let me know, and I'll shut up.

  10. My first was a Jetfire... I was watching the first episode of RT way back in 86 when it premiered, and when I saw the profile of the plane, I felt a chill run over me. I dashed into my bedroom, came back with ol' JF a couple of seconds later, and confirmed my suspicion. Jetfire ceased to be on that day..... EDIT - My first REAL valk was a Takatoku Max type bought at Mr. Big's Toy Land in Waltham Mass. when I was stationed in Mass. in about 1989 or 1990. I remember to this day that he had a STACK of Taka valks that stretched from floor to ceiling (I am really not kidding here). Wanna guess how much I paid for it?
  11. What do you do when you bring the chicks home?. Do you hide it?, or tell them "He's gonna watch, and you're gonna like it!"
  12. Someone over at TBDX found out They are the rifles from an Airmaster HG model: http://www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?BAN55020 Thanks for looking!
  13. OK, thought these were for the Knight Gundam, but just found out thanks to Drifand and his great box scans that they are not. Can anyone ID the following? Thanks!
  14. OK, in the scene where Hikaru walks out of the hole in the hull of the Prometheus, and walks to Misa, who can be clearly seen sitting in front of the nose of the Super O where they had crash landed on the beach. Right after that scene, they pan over another plane that lies ruined in the surf, and it's another Ostrich? And no, it is not the Ostrich they were flying. In the scene where they were flying/crashing, they were coming from inland, and crashed on the beach facing outward, hence seeing the beached hulk of the Prometheus. The pan shot leads you to believe that the Valk lies ruined next to the Prometheus. So, in DYRL, the Prometheus is an Earthbound carrier, not connected to the Macross at any point since the ARMD platforms are there. So, I wonder why a space only fast pack trainer plane would be there?
  15. Or are we UNlucky that Hikaru didn't kill Minmay?
  16. Sorry, grumble grumble, bitch bitch bitch. But I still don't see why they don't add English subtitles to these.
  17. Crazy Canuck's Custom Heads are off the hook!. Definitely worth the buy.
  18. OMFG, I want one! But then again, do they sell the NGC in Red?. If so, I have a PG Zaku with some extra Zeon logos on the decal sheet, bing bam boom!, Char's Gamecube.
  19. The funniest thing about this scene is when he crashes through the Studio Nue building. Pay close attention to the little critter on the side of the building. It is smiling at first, and as the Battroid crashes through, it turns to a grimace. Here's a little animation I threw together from Robocrap, so yes, you can see the unfortunate demise of Studio Nue. Now, technically, the poor bastard on the ground doesnt get smashed, it more looks like he gets blown away by a blast from the foot. So, theoretically, he could have just been sent flying, and lived, yeah right Anyway, here's the animation:
  20. Earthquakes are commonplace in Japan, I got quite used to them when I was there for two years. Hokkaido is the northernmost island, and is far less populated than Honshu, so It's not as major as it sounds. Even the article says that another earthquake shook Japan 6 days ago.
  21. see first topic
  22. Jeebus, how much longer are they going to wait on these things!. They aren't that great, basically a glorified MSiA, just get the phuking things out, at this rate, it will take them a year and a half for each new series of two lousy figures!. Get your head out of your ass Bandai!
  23. Thanks for the review JSA. Before reading your review, I had decided not to buy these toys... After reading your review, I am convinced that I was right not to do so... I think that the 1/48 line was the single best and worst thing that Yamato ever did to themselves. I used to like the 1/60's, but after getting the 1/48, the 1/60's just started looking stubby, and quite honestly hideously ugly to me. So, if Yamato does a Super O and Elint in 1/48, they will get my cash. If not, and I realize one day that I made an error, experience has shown that 1/60 Yamato valks can be had for half price or less 6 months after their release dates.
  24. If you want to ship it to Maryland, I have a friend that can mod it for you.
  25. Nah, more like$700, but I have a side business, and get computer parts at cost. I always build my own, and never buy premade DELL, Gateway, HP, Micron, or Compaq garbage. My PC is basically an Alienware rig but without their fruity case, or knockout pricetag. The only thing I need to get is a nice Saitek X45 and I'm set. But like I said, the PS2 or what have you has the benefit of being completely plug and play, and it keeps my kids from pounding on my precious, myyy precccioussss. PC.
