Jeez guys, relax, he probably posted them on his ISP's provided personal web space. If their server is down, so are his pics. I'm sure they will be back.

OK, so I guess the ball's in my court.... In Grave of the Fireflies... In the first few minutes of the film, what can be seen coming out of the can of fruit drops when it hits the ground? If you paid attention at the later part of the film, you will notice something very specific. Sorry BTW for anyone who bawls uncontrollably at the mention of GOTF (like my wife )

Well, I knew this, but didn't want to hog the thread. Kiba - Fang I dont know what your avatar is about, but how about the Inu Yasha reference instead? "The Fang, the sword that can destroy a hundred youkai with one swing, named Tetsusaiga."

That wouldn't be a Jared Churchill commission would it?. He does noses similar to that. All in all, great work, but, the nose is really freaky, it looks like an Aardvark.

What he said... Can't speak to M2, never saw it. I downloaded the first two eps of Mac 7, and the 30 minutes I spent watching the first episode is time that I will never get back. It just sucked, and the animation sucked, they re-used the same freaking piece of animation like 5 times in the same episode, which wouldn't have mattered if it had been animated well, but it was not. Get Flashback 2012, it's interesting enough and cheap enough, plus you get some new footage. Get Mac Zero definitely.

Plus there's pictures of his schlong there.

Yeah, but with one major difference. The shuttle had wings, stabilators, and a tail. So it would at least provide some of it's own lift. Now, if they added some wings or winglets to the Fast packs that could be jettisoned upon reaching space, then it might work. Of course, that may even be a moot point since you would probably have to empty the packs fuel cells to escape gravity anyway, so you would probably end up jettisoning the whole shebang . Oh well, Kawamori sama never claimed to be an aeronautical engineer, but he sure does draw a neat plane!.

Yes, given sufficient thrust, a brick will fly. However, without control surfaces, that brick cannot maneuver. Additionally, if you add too much thrust to that brick, it will start to disintegrate at its' weakest points. The only way a valk with packs could fly would be by using the verniers on the leg armors to keep the tail level, and maneuver left and right, and create roll etc. There is no way that it could carry sufficient fuel in the packs to fire them constantly. So, the pilot would have to vector the feet nozzles down, but that would create forward roll that would need to be countered by flaps, or the nose verniers. Either way, it would be a big fuel consuming bitch. But, the real killer for a valk with packs in atmosphere would be the structural integrity. The whole pack system connects to the backpack, and unless that hinge was immensely strong, it is likely that the whole backpack unit would shear off, and go shooting off in front of the Valk when the pilot kicked in the pack boosters. Sort of like that errant booster rocket that came off the Challenger all those years ago.

See Muswp1's post. You could roll, and climb or descend but turning would be a bitch. And it would be interesting to say the least to see what would happen to that Fast pack weighted backpack hinge under the G's induced if you were to roll. And god forbid you kick in the pack boosters. You want to talk control surfaces?, see how spindly the wings on the VF-1 are?, as soon as you kicked in the boosters, anything short of flying directly straight and completely level (which would probably shear off the ailerons, and flaperons) would shear the wings clean off, giving you a one way ticket down. The only way it would work would be if you just flew straight forward, and whenever you wanted to turn, you fire a vernier or three. But that would be if the valk was even aerodynamically sound with all that crap strapped to it.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Mechamaniac replied to VF-19's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Sweet! I wondered about Oldman playing Sirius, but then again, Oldman can play anything or anyone, and he looks great as Sirius. Not sure about Michael Gambon as Dumbledore though.... Looks as though the kids are holding up well, after all they are only a year or so older than they are supposed to be in Azkaban so it shouldnt really matter. -
Actually, EoE made soooooooooo much more sense to me than the last two eps. Most of the last two eps I spent in a constant state of However, EoE made it all crystal clear.

Realistically, a Fast Pack equipped VF-1 would become a very explosive lawn dart in atmosphere. Take away the vertical stabilizers, and the fact that the VF-1 has no stabilators to begin with leaves you with a big heavy unsteerable lawn dart.

Word. I too run a small retail business on the side, but mine is in PC upgrade/repair, and IT consulting. The thing to keep in mind here is that in order to achieve these discounts, you must first be appropriately licensed in your state, and have a federal tax ID. Doing this means that you will have to either incorporate yourself, or form a LLC. Both of these options cost about$500 bucks to do if you have them done professionally. In order to be "legal" your business must have its own bank account as well, which is a hassle to get going, as most banks dont want to open a "business" account with less than a $5000 dollar minimum balance. Then you have to keep up to date on taxes, both federal and state, and all kinds of other minutiae. Once this is done, you have to establish accounts with distributors, most of whom are not used to, or willing to deal with the little guy. This means that they seldom want to sell you onesies or twosies etc, they want to deal in entire case lots or pallet loads, and want to deal with you on net terms rather than a personal or even a business credit card. All in all, the whole process seems designed to weed out the little guy, or to weed out the guys that are only in it so they can get stuff cheap for themselves. In the end, once you have blown all this dough to get started, you probably would have saved money just buying the friggin toys at retail. So, moral of the story is, unless you are SERIOUS enough to get a small loan, like $10,000 or so, don't bother.

I have that toy!! And thanks to that commercial, I found out that the air intakes move. Sweet!. Yeah, it's a small thing I did not know, but it makes me love the toy all that much more.

Mechamaniac replied to Daishi3500's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Completely built by me since I don't buy premade crap. Soyo Dragon Ultra Platinum KT400 Mobo with 333FSB. AMD Athlon 2600+ (2.08 GHZ 333FSB) Processor 512 KB PC2700 (333FSB) RAM Nvidia GeForce 4 Video Card 64MB I run the sound card that came with the Soyo board because it rocks, and it suits me fine. DVD Rom 52x CD RW 2x WDC 40GB HDD, one for Op sys, and programs, one for straight up storage. Oh, and my case is completely modded, by me. What can I say, got sick of the old beige beater. Here's a pic or two. -
JELEINEN's got it. - or at least had it first. And the lyric is... "Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon cuz that cartoon has got the BOOM anime babes, that make me think the wrong thing" Take it away Jeleinen

Looks OK, but I can't bring myself to watch it. Tartakovsky's animation style is just too comical for me.

Toycom Escaflowne Transformable Figure
Mechamaniac replied to Ivan's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, as long as it has taken them to make just this one toy, they will have to milk it like a VF-1 to get back their investment of time alone... So, we'll probably see... The regular variant The black variant Regular with actual cloth cape/wings Black with actual cloth cape/wings "Enhanced" versions of the previous, fixing QC problems that plagued the first releases. Van and Hitomi "to scale" add on pack. Van with real clothing, but molded on boots. Van with real clothing, and real leather boots. Hitomi with real clothing, and molded on tennis shoes. Hitomi with real clothing, and real tennis shoes. Finally, there will be Dilandau with a he-man style spot on his chest, when you hit it, he changes into a chick!. Income for Yamato? - 87 billion yen.
