  1. Yeah, Motorworks that's them. The one I saw was the disassembled Sundowners version. It was like 17 bucks, and I was so close to buying it. Next time I will. Hell, I don't care if it's not perfect, it's cheap, and from those pics, looks pretty damned good.
  2. Yeah, I don't know why (other than time constraints on Shawn of course) the whole site isn't merged into PHP. It would be much easier to navigate. Here's an example, the site and forums are all linked from the same PHP page. http://www.katoots.com/forum/index.php
  3. I have to agree with some... I cannot stand to watch the original series. The animation is just too crappy, and even when it's relatively well drawn, it is so choppy and inconsistent that it makes the anime friend Macross episodes look crisp and clean by comparison. I have yet to see Zeta, but have been dying to, so I agree with Kieth - Bring my box set dammit! (well, as long as it's not 250 bucks) As to the newer stuff, 0080 is much better animation wise, but the crowning jewels so far have got to be 0083, 08th Team, CCA, and SEED.
  4. This is a pretty good Gundam Site: http://www.gundamw.net/ and they have some not half bad forums, I have lurked but not posted. http://216.74.117.244/forums/index.php
  5. Any chance to see Milla nekkid is enough for me, she's smokin!
  6. What issue of Newtype USA is that?? I have them up until October, and it's not in any of the ones I have... Is it in November or December's issue? If so, then I will grab the issue, and re-scan the image, my scanner is brand stinkin new. We;; it says the July 2003 Newtype USA issue in the article. Right, but the pic that we need is shown on a page of a later issue that makes reference to the July issue. I searched the page number shown in my July issue of Newtype, but it is not there.
  7. Dude, those thing suck ass. They look good from a distance, and you would think that they would be all hatchy, and stuff, but in fact, the one that I saw blew chunks. The wings didn't even swing, it was fixed in the out position. The airbrake didn't open, the gear doesn't work, they just suck crap. PERIOD. Also, they are solid die cast for the most part, and sport this crappy enamel paint job. The worst thing is that when they were Armour, you could get em for about 25 bucks, but since they're Franklin Mint, they want big bucks for them. NOTE - NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THE FRANKLIN MINT, my wife used to work there, and their stuff is overrated, thinly plated trash. Now, I was at Wal Mart not too long ago, and they have their own line of models, that are already painted and decalled, all you do is glue them together. I can't remember what they were called, but they had an F-14 with the rising sun tail logo, nicely detailed, they also had an FA-18, a Huey, and an Apache as I remember. And they were about 15 bucks, looked to be 1/48 scale too.
  8. That's not survival of the fittest, that's called "Natural Selection" How come everyone always want to start a tangent argument over something? Natural Selection = survival of the fittest = Darwin's theory of evolution No, if I really wanted to start a tangent argument then my answer to your question would have been... DEMOCRATS
  9. That's not survival of the fittest, that's called "Natural Selection"
  10. Well, the law of averages means that when a squadron of Tomcats goes up against the entire Japanese Naval air force on it's way to Pearl Harbor, despite superior firepower, one of the Tomcats is probably going to get splashed. Man, can you imagine the ribbing that guy would get?. They'd have to change his callsign to Subsonic Bob for the rest of his career.
  11. Hey, has this been mentioned before? Seems that Hasbro's prime is battle damaged? As a matter of fact, he's sporting the same wound that proved to be fatal in TF The Movie. Here they are side by side... And here's Hasbro's Prime in the box, unless Remy customized his... As if the stubby smokestacks weren't enough, now your Hasbro Prime is also "moments before death" Prime.
  12. You are correct, Bandai never made one, only Takatoku.
  13. Yeah where the hell are they, I'm waiting for them to show up on e-bay all cheap. Or in the $5.99 bin at GameStop.
  14. When you say "special" you have to imagine the YF-1R limping holding it's right hand in a curled up position under it's chin, riding the short bus to Valkyrie school. And yes, Yune is an idiot, but even worse, he thinks that his fans are idiots. I won't generalize all RT fans here, some of them are idiots yes, but idiots abound everywhere in the world. The only constant in the universe is the stupidity of others. He apparently doesn't realize (or doesn't care) that the fans who are now paying 80 bucks for collector's grade toys are not 10-15 years old anymore, and will no longer buy any piece of crap explanation he throws at them. Alot of the original RT fans that came back are in their mid to late 20's - Early 30's have gone to college, some of them have even had sex with a girl!. You can sell that bullcrap to a 10-15 year old kid, but he should take into account that the fan base is a bit longer in the tooth, and at least try to come up with some sort of plausible explanation. But while I was ranting, I ran out of Protoculture, hey buddy!, Ten bucks on number 12 please!.
  15. That rocks!! Prime standing next to the trailer really gives a good scale to it. You can finally imagine how big Prime would be!. I must get one of those trailers once I get my Prime.
  16. Funny, I could actually hear the bubbles in your big water bong while reading your post.
  17. He needs a Macrossworld.com sticker somewhere!
  18. Come on. There's a bigger dichotomy right now on this very planet, at this very moment. There are people literally living in the stone age, while you and I live in a post-industrial society that can send people to the moon. If you can't suspend disbelief for the technology differences seen the show (which are logically and easily explained), I wonder how you deal with reality. True However, we did not deposit those stone age people into their current locations by modern means. How do these backwards assed cowboys get to these planets in Firefly? Do they teleport there?, are the moved there by Magic?. No, they are transported by spacecraft, modern spacecraft. I just find it hard to believe that you would go to all the trouble of moving to another planet via interstallar spacecraft, only to live in a freaking log cabin. Yes, there is the element of choice to be taken into consideration, perhaps everyone in the Firefly universe was some kind of back to nature religious whacko or something. Either way, the show didn't appeal to me for that reason, and it obviously appealed to every one else here FOR that reason, so let's just agree to disagree.
  19. You know that comment on irony I made in my first post in this thread? I'll let you in on a little secret: most mainstream SF are really westerns. It's why we call them "space operas." The term comes from "saddle opera," which was used to describe western stories in pulps and dime novels. Firefly just happened to actually look like a western. True, but what I hated about Firefly is the idea that these guys can be zooming about the galaxy in starships, visiting high tech space stations etc, and then they land on a planet, where the entire cast is dressed in rejects from the costume department of the Outlaw Josey Wales. I just do not believe (and yes, Sci Fi is all about suspension of disbelief) that an advanced society would have that much of a dichotomy going on. Alot of the same elements are there in Star Wars, and yeah, Star Wars is also a Space Western in alot of ways, but at least the backwoods planet of Tatooine had a high tech bar, and people dressed in their own period's clothing.
  20. Very nice review, of an unfortunately crappy toy. The head is interesting, and I like the color, but beyond that, it's your standard everyday craptastic MPC. And this Jack Archer character sounds like someone HG dreamed up as a Fokker replacement.
  21. I'd have to see how it looked all clear, but I think it could be cool. I voted YES. While he's at it, why not cast selected parts of the Valk itself in clear?. The airbrake hatch, and the nosecone may look neat too. Hey, are pics in sigs allowed now?
  22. Yeah, you beat me to that one!
  23. Well, all you really need is AgentONE, his love of coating things, and a blacklight. Luminescent Doorknobs!
