  1. NOW TAKING ORDERS FOR THE MACROSS PLUS CASES!. Follow this link to place your order... http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/macross.html Congrats to AlphaHX for winning the "box on me" competition, and thanks for all your hard work! Here are the final two designs you can choose from... or YES - YOU CAN STILL GET THE SDF MACROSS CASES! Just follow the link below to get pricing information, and submit your order to Paul for the case of your choice. http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/macross.html Thanks for all of your interest!. YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM THE FOLLOWING TWO DESIGNS: by Dangard Ace - For the Character/Art lovers By Blaine 23 - For the Mech Heads For those of you who are not familiar with Paul Champagne's stuff, follow this link. Paul Champagne Anime DVD Keepcases He is the guy that did the official ADV box sets for Gasaraki, and Evangelion. I contacted Paul and asked if he would be willing to take on a commission of a Macross World Exclusive DVD keep case for either the SDF Macross series, or Macross Plus. Additionally, since we have so many photoshop masters around here, I asked if we could design our own images. These sets would be individually numbered, and since we can design them, could contain whatever images we want on them, and I would imagine with Graham and Shawn's permission of course, the MW Logo somewhere. His response was very enthusiastic... So, please indicate here if you would be interested in obtaining a Macross World Exclusive DVD Keepcase for your SDF Macross (Animeigo) set, or for the Mac Plus OVA & Movie, or both. If there is sufficient interest, then I will get the image requirements from him, and we can start hashing out an image design. I am volunteering to handle this thing entirely, so all we have to do for now is indicate that we are interested, and I will tally up the numbers, and relay them to him to get price info. I am not affiliated with him in any way, and do not stand to make any money on this. I am doing this solely to see us finally get something that's ours. Mods, can we get this pinned? Also, I figured it would get the most traffic in the toys forum.
  2. Well the other alternative is this... Anyone can get the source code and images right from the main site. So, take that info, and images, re-create the site on your own time, then offer up the code to Shawn. All he would have to do is upload it to the MW server, and voila.
  3. Nice. I'm all for that, but like azrael said, "The only bad part about this idea is finding time for Shawn to let a bunch of us in and work the site. The content of the site stays the same, but we just convert the entire site to php. If Shawn is working 45 hour weeks and has a life, we're going to have to drag him out of bed and drop him in front of a computer and let him do his part." That's easier said than done actually. Go with something like Mambo, where the admins can grant certain members access to contribute content to the site which has to ultimately be approved by the admin in order to be published. My company's intranet is run entirely on Mambo and PHP, and it is a great system once you get it set up.
  4. This is an example of how MW would look if integrated fully into PHP. http://www.katoots.com/forum/index.php
  5. Yeah, getting back to "what are we going to do with it". Every year, my wife and I throw ours at debts hither and thither. This year, I decided that we shall have fun with this one. What does Mechamaniac call fun? And if I get a good price, a Hilkaru 1S Strike to go on top.
  6. As long as the forum AND the site stay up....it'll be just fine. The problem with this is that Graham and Shawn went to alot of trouble to put up tons if info in the regular site. Practically anything you would want to know about toys, artwork, fan custom models etc are on the regular site. Meaning that alot of the useless questions that get asked here by n00b's could be avoided if they would check the main site where that info is available. In addition to that, I remember a comment from Graham where he said that he wondered if they took down the rest of the site, if anyone would notice. Compared to the forums, the rest of the site is really antiquated. What makes it worse is that it would really be pretty easy to integrate the site into the same PHP format that the forums use. That way, MW could all be accessed from a menu at the side of the forums page. I hate to say it, but straight up HTML is dead.
  7. Kewl, another giant toy lover. I just want them to do all the valks in the same scale, whatever it is. I would like to be able to display valks from all three of the good series next to each other in battroid mode in the same scale. Is that too much to ask? I guess so, because chances are, we'll never see a Mac Plus valk in anything but 1/72, and I am sorry, but they all look too stubby to me in 1/72. The scale just isn't big enough to put in any detail. That's how you wind up with the chewing gum left on the bedstand overnight Guld pilot fig, and the fact that they have no internal cockpit detail at all. And if the VF-0 is so freaking huge, the largest they will probably go will be 1/72, or perhaps 1/60, but hey, this is Yamato, they'll probably pull one off in a completely different scale!, who knows.
  8. So........where's the problem?? I guess myself and Blaine23 are the only ones who like big ass toys. I for one would love to see one in 1/48, but 1/60 will do too.
  9. Mmmmmm, pre-shading....droool. That looks absolutely fantastic! Man, I wish I had those 5kill5.
  10. I'm not a transfan, but with MPC Convoy glaring down at me with his matrix held high, I am definitely interested in more masterpiece editions. Anyone know if any more are planned?
  11. They all can be had fansubbed if you get a good bittorrent server. To elaborate on what DA said, they are essentially CGI and animated commercials that were bundled with PG kits. They have some neat CGI which usually is fanboy stuff showing Gundams doing Tai Chi (G Gundam), and huge detail on the PG RX-178MKII that shows all the arm pistons and leg joints, and some other stuff. There's a music video set to the background scenes of how a HG RX-78 is designed, test built, molded, boxed and shipped (this is also available as an extra on the CCA DVD). So, no story at all, ust lots of supplemental fanboy stuff. All in all, if you want them, download them, or get them cheap, like less than 10 bucks cheap. The advantage to downloading them is that they are fansubbed, whereas the DVD's are not.
  12. When you do, spend a few bucks on a dictionary, and make sure to put in your monicle when you look up the word "monocle" Well, that's why there's the W-4 form. You can control your deductions and get back more at the end, or more week to week. Of course, the government is scamming you to some degree, that's what government does. But you do have some control over it.
  13. 319.1, and another over 315 feet, cant remember which. That is funny as hell.
  14. Does HLJ still do that wierd ass "billing once a month" thing?
  15. I disassembled it, it was held together with several phillips head screws. I then removed the interior detail items (the front seats, gear shift, emergency brake, steering wheel, windshield, and tow rack), These were very lightly glued in place, and came out pretty easily with some gentle persuasion from my xacto knife, and small screwdriver., I could not get the rear seats out so I masked over them, I also masked over the silver floor plate under the turret, the instrument cluster behind the silver floor plate, and the instrument cluster on the dashboard. I used some very fine grit sandpaper to rough the surface of the existing paint, and sand off the decals. I did not want to go down to bare die cast on this since I then would have had to sand or prime the metal or both. I wiped it down with a moist cloth, let it dry, and then just spray painted it. I used a flat white primer paint that I got at Home Depot, and some leftover MG decals. It really helps to have built all three of the MG Labor kits prior to this, I had tons of leftover decals, and dry transfers. I opted for the decals on this as opposed to the dry transfers, I don't know why. The sirens I added to the front are pieces of an old 1/144 scale Gundam kit that looked enough like sirens, that I painted them with some gloss red paint, and glued them on. All in all, a very easy conversion. Start to finish, took me about 6 hours. Hope this helps.
  16. Oh, I know they can be had, but they'r eexpensive. This one cost me 7 bucks and some paint and decals I had laying around the house Thanks for all the great comments
  17. that guy did some kick ass work with his Ingram. if i could get some of those Cheap, i might to a SAPD custom or maybe even a Macross City.... Yeah, I have seen his site before. That d00d has some l33t m4d 5kill5 when it comes to modelling.
  18. That plan worked great for my oldest. I sacrificed a blue bootleg vf-19 to her, and man is it in pieces now. But she never goes near my case, and it is open front. The youngest on the other hand is still being indoctrinated. Most of the time she's pretty good, but the other day, my wife came down to find her slinging my MG NT-1 Alex around. For her, I just put the ones I dont really care about down low, that way, if she gets one, it's not a major one.
  19. Here are some close ups...
  20. OK, so I was lucky enough to come across this yesterday... Bandai made a 1/35 Command Car to go with their 1/35 Patlabor models, but it was very limited release, and they can't be had anymore. So, yesterday, I came across a Motorworks Humvee at Wal Mart. It was priced at $11.00 on clearance, but then then they marked it down again to $7.00 as I stood there. Originally, I wanted it just to put the labors in scale with something I had personal experience with. The scale difference calculates out to less than a foot, and the labor pilot fits exactly into the drivers seat, so I think it is really closer to 1/35 anyway. So using some spare paints, and spare decals from my 3 1/35 MG Labor Kits, I made this.... Since Patlabor takes place in the not too distant future, it is quite possible that they would use conventional military vehicles, after all, they do in the movies. So, I think it works quite well. Here's a link to the larger image.... Larger pic. and here's what it looked like PRE-modding. Pre-Modded hummer. A little about the hummer... for $7.00 this was a steal!. The top is die cast metal, the tires are rubber, it has real suspension, the turret rotates, and the hatch opens, the hatchback opens, as does the tailgate, and the engine cowling opens as it should. Now, if I could just find someone to paint the figures for me. I suck at that. Hope everyone likes it.
  21. Were we separated at birth? I thought I was the only one that liked the big suckers. Anything less than 1/60th is second string for me, and 1/144 is so much worthless crap.
  22. I guess I will be the lone note of disappointment here then... All I want is for Yamato to make toys from each series so they can be displayed next to each other to show scale. Wouldnt it be neat to have one battroid from TOS, Plus, and Zero next to each other all in the same scale?. I don't know how people can say that the 1/48 VF-0 would be too big to be feasible as a toy. The 1/60th MONSTER promises to be the size of a large microwave oven, and will defy any display case. Sorry guys, but unless the thing Graham can't tell us about yet is a VF-0 that will be the end all, be all of all Mac Zero toys, I think Yamato is just copping out on us with this. They prove to us that they can make a perfect transformation VF-1 packed with details, and then take ten steps backwards with the VF-0. So, my rant is over on that un appetizing toy. In the end, if it's cheap, I'll buy it. Graham, what about the actual interesting toy they had pics of, the launch arm, any info on that?
  23. Got mine today from Deadzone. Man, the Takara version ROCKS!!! F the Hasblow version, waste of money compared to this bad boy.
  24. Echoing the sentiments of everyone else that has posted this.... NICE STAND!!!
  25. Best part of COTB is... The chick that does Minmay sounds like she clocks in at about 375. Focker sounds like John Wayne on a bad acid trip. Hikaru sounds like Corky from Life Goes On. ("There's three, I'll...get.....em!") and of course ("Maaaaxxxx!")
