  1. Yeah, EXO and I brainstormed this out one night and if you take the scale of the city as shown in the anime into account, based on the size of the stadium, the Macross would be more like 5 MILES long. EXO has a pretty good graphic he whipped up showing the dimensions.
  2. That looks fabulous! I think I would have to remove the cars though as they really blow the scale of the buildings and the stadium. Either the stadium is more of a 20 person ampitheater or those are actually Monsters lumbering down the streets of Mac city. If anything, the city just shows you how grossly out of proportion the real life Macross would be compared to the supposed dimensions from the show.series. Less than a mile long? Give me a break.
  3. Thanks, the Zentran figure is really cool and I do plan on painting it. Unfortunately, no Regult for me but I do have plans for the little (big) guy.
  4. Here's mine. I followed JasonC and EXO's method and while painstaking, it really makes this figure shine and HIGHLY poseable. Just gotta order the ball joints for the wrists.
  5. Do not put this on a flexi until you read this...
  6. Yamato can bite my shiny metal ass for releasing this 3 days after Christmas. I want this thing so bad it burns but seriously? 3 days after Christmas when everyone is penniless? I don't use credit and it's pretty bad that this toy is so full of win that it makes me want to get a CC just to order it and then shred the thing. If I'm lucky, I might get one when the ole tax return comes in.
  7. Thankfully, no problems exist with my stand but upon closer inspection of the clear tip, they have small flattened sections where it looks like they're deteriorating where they come in contact with the surface of the toy. Good thing Gamlin's pimp hand was strong in my case I agree that someone should notify the manufacturer about this. Isn't he a member here?. He needs to know so these can be rectified. It's one thing to have these things damage mass production toys but on the website, they are marketing the stands to modelers etc. I can't imagine spending 10's or 100's of hours on a model kit only to have the paint slowly eaten off by the display stand I put it on. This really sucks because I was just going to order a few more of these.
  8. Well, I'm happy to report that the VF-22 is OK. The plastic is fine but there are some shiny spots where it came into contact with the ends of the flexi display. This shininess wiped off so I can only assume it's some sort of oil or release agent. Perhaps this substance is what's causing damage to the paint on some valks. It might contain some sort of mild solvent. I wonder if washing the tips in some warm soapy water like you would any other model or resin kit would help.
  9. That SUCKS. And I'm stuck at work unable to go check on the one that's holding up my Gamlin VF-22....
  10. Pinned...for great justice.
  11. Funny, I always thought that Macross City stretched throughout both legs.
  12. Eagerly anticipating your build-up, er..., paint-up thread. Hopefully I'll be able to follow along. This SDF really needs a proper paint job to complement the fine detail. Wave had the right idea with painted panel details, but really, the contrast is too much for the scale. So I'm contemplating using filters instead of paint shades, but perhaps the effect will be too subtle? Or maybe, paint shades for major panels and filters for smaller ones, or should it be the other way around? Looking to you for inspiration my man! What he said. I too will be eagerly anticipating this!
  13. Got mine today. WOW, $59 bucks for shipping!! I guess it's a big box though.
  14. Wait til you see Graham's review
  15. Yes I did. I think it's a measure on Yamato's behalf to eliminate possible QC issues before they happen. By sending you sprues and making you attach the wee bits there's no possibility that they were either left off at the factory or fell/broke off during packing/shipping/unpacking. Also, as toy guy, It doesn't bother me to have to attach them.
  16. Nice! How did you secure the joints?
  17. Yeah, but it looks like crap unless you want to HEAVILY customize it. I for one don't like my aircraft carriers to have wheels on them.
  18. Any updates as to when this will be available? Are we really talking December? Those of us budgeting for holiday shopping would like to know. Personally, as badly as I want this, I can wait another month or so for it.
  19. What he said. I saw one in a GameStop bargain bin for $10 so I snagged it. I knew what I was in for, I had seen them before but when I opened the box I still felt ripped off. That...and Joke Machines. Sorry, I know a lot of people love them but I hate anything SD or Chibi.
  20. 1/60 v2 VF-1D followed by a very close second 1/60 v2 VT-1 Super Ostrich. I loves me some trainers.
  21. Sorry, EXO, I think mine's a little more accurate...
  22. Yeah, I noticed that same detail. I hope the paint job is better on the production model cuz that bridge looks like a 5 year old painted it.
  23. Nope, designed by >EXO< since Beagle doesn't love us anymore.
  24. Why did my credit card just start smoking?
  25. Yeah, that Valk needs to be in the naked baby on a bearskin rug pose.
