  1. I was just looking at those today, some really epic scenes. debating whether I should buy the comics, or just wait for the graphic novel to come out
  2. The film was basically a trailer for the manga. It could have easily been a 6 hour film.
  3. got a 6 month old, he passed out for a few hours so I watched the entire season back to back....it might have been in the middle of the night though, lol!
  4. You'll need more than just this series, it took me two nights to get through the first season, and only one night the second time I watched it.
  5. Oh man, I'm gonna watch Big Trouble in Little China tonight, lol! David Lo Pan, awesome!
  6. Time to dust off the ol' Atlantean Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa has my vote as well. Watanabe is pretty awesome though - my wife met him once at the shinkansen station in Nagaoka when she was back visiting family, apparently he's a really nice guy and very polite.
  7. Yeah, I noticed the color, the feet, chest piece and head unit are slightly different, but other than that, not a whole lot else. It's not like a drastic difference like the VF-0 vs VF-1
  8. anyone else have trouble distinguishing the differences between the Makr 17 and Mark18?
  9. yep, was definitely worth it, too bad I blitzed through the whole thing already.....now I have to wait a lifetime for season 2, dammit!
  10. I know I'm a little late in the game for chatting about this anime, but I just started watching this last night, figured I'd watch an episode before going to bed, but couldn't stop.....I got in about 4 episodes before I realized I'd regret it in the morning, lol!
  11. I just watched this movie on the plane back from Japan, nice effects, some interesting concept about harvesting. Some moments reminded me of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Things I didn't like: Wasn't a fan of the boots, looked like he was rollerblading in the sky. Might have been better if it was portrayed likethe thrusters on a Valk's feet. Then there was the talk about the wolf and vampires......Sci-fi version of Twilight?
  12. I had that toy when I was a kid, always wondered why the hell couldn't they figure out the color was off, ended it repainting it the right color myself.
  13. I posted these in the Yamato 2199 thread, but may as well post them here too. Never before seen image of IJN Musashi. I was in Japan last week and saw this on the news, took forever to find images online.....in his case, Google was not my friend.
  14. Wow, necro-thread.....where's Ryuji been lately anyway, haven't seen any new posts from him in ages.
  15. When they were filming Otoko-tachi No Yamato, I went to Onomichi and stood on the deck of the 1/1 scale film set, and though they only built about 1/3 of the ship, what I stood on was absolutely breathtaking.
  16. I saw it on the news when I was over there last week, apparently the photo was in someone's personal collection. It'd be cool to somehow work in Yamato's sister ship into 2199, but I'm guessing it's not likely. Here's a newspaper clipping for more info on the new pic:
  17. anyone here see this? Never before seen image of IJN Musashi:
  18. Space Battleship Yamato live action was done semi-right. The ship design, wardrobe were changed just enough not to fukk with your childhood, though the rest was sort of meh. Frankly, if this thing ever gets off the ground, I hope Michael Bay directs it. It will be so far from the original, I just won't care.
