The Wolverine FILMS (X-Men Universe)
peter replied to antibiotictab's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
“I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that,” Kinberg told Collider regarding Stewart’s involvement. “I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.” http://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/wolverine-3-rated-r/ Sounds like Old Man Logan, or at least bits of it. -

I can't imagine how heavy that thing would end up if scaled down to fire 7.61x51 or even Beowulf three heavy barrels, eletric motor, battery, and 200 rounds internally stored. Lol, maybe build one that fires .22lr might be a bit more manageable, hahaha!

haha, thread brought back from the dead I have one of these kits, but have come to realize I don't have the skills to tackle. I don't see many builds from other Macrossworlders, which is surprising considering how awesome this kit is. Or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places? If there's a fast pack in the works, sign me up, I'll eventually find someone to build this beast for me

Looks like the ejection port is large enough to handle .308? Would be cool to see a fully functioning one firing real ammo Know any metal fabricators and a gunsmith?

Any news on this? Updates? Is it actually happening? I was watching Terminator Genysis the other day and figure by the time they make this film, they could de-age Arnie and have a CG stand-in for the entire film and it would still look pretty awesome.

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
peter replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nope, not pretending. Misa Hayase's character is supposedly ethinically Japanese, but she could easliy pass for a Lisa Hayes, lol! And Max....not really sure what's going on with that guy......- 751 replies

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
peter replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ah, contact lenses and dyed hair, like that never happens in Japan. Anyway, would you be happy if Toby played Hikaru? Or how about Samuel L. Jackson play Roy and Scarlet Johannnsen plays Claudia? If Toby was playing Rick Hunter, no problems, I couldn't give two $hits, but Hikaru? No way.- 751 replies

The idea of casting SJ in the role of Kusanagi is semi-acceptable for me because in the story, it's supposedly possible to transfer your mind/essence/ghost over to other synthetic bodies. Not a deal breaker for me, but not ideal. Other examples hypothetically speaking, not so much. For example, if Toby McQuire was cast in the role of Hikaru Ichijo in Macross when the character is clearly Japanese. Or Leonardo DiCaprio in Akira as Kaneda, when the entire film is set in Japan and most of the characters are clearly Japanese (I think they were thinking about relocating it to New York, but still calling it Akira?). Dragon Ball Z was utterly unwatchable, and same goes for 47 Ronin starring John Wick (not knocking Keannu Reaves - John Wick was a pretty sick film). Kung Fu with David Carradine was a big WTF, but whatever, I still watched it when I was little, lol! Imagine if they cast Donny Yen as John Clark in a Rainbow Six film? Sure, Mr. Yen is a great action star, but John Clark/Kelly is definitely a white dude.- 751 replies

My two cents on the EU......I thought I was a huge Star Wars fan, but maybe not because I don't know a single thing about EU. My Star Wars world includes the films, the animations (Except for Droids and Ewoks and maybe a few others), and maybe a few scattered comics and graphic novels, but I don't even follow the games. I guess the same could be said about Macross....thought I was a fan, outside of SDFM, DYRL, M+ and maybe a bit of Frontier, I don't know much else.

Lol, 47 Ronin with Keannu was unwatchable, even if the Japanese produced that movie. I got into maybe 10 minutes of it before I had to turn it off.- 33 replies

Lol, one of the reasons I can't seem to get into Macross offerings beyond Macross Plus, which was already a stretch for me. While I'm still a huge fan of SDFM and DYRL, the newer designs, stories and themes (M7.....wtf) just don't do anything for me. Personally, I think the K-man is off his rocker. For the folks who grew up on the current stuff, it's awesome you found something you like. I wish I could say the same, but I'm literally being left in the dust because I just can't wrap my old brain around a Valk with mouth and speakers in space. With TFA, I'm glad they didn't sway too far from the original designs. It's completely feasable that they are still using the same ships 30 years later. How long was the Tomcat in service for? The F14 had a long run before retirement. Still sad that they retired her. Yamato 2199 is another awesome example. They updated bits here and there to bring the animation up to today's standards, but but left enough of the original design to leave fans like me satisfied.....thank *ucking heaven they didn't swap the hado ho with a singing mouth and change the crew into a bunch of pot-smoking peacing loving liberal hippies. Anyway, enough ranting, I can't wait to see Ep VIII as well as Rogue One where it goes right back to basically the same era as Ep IV.

Lol, I've always said she's best suited for porn. I wouldn't mind seeing her in an episode of Puremature, HD....as long as they don't zoom into her mutant thumbs.
