  1. Deploying X-wings have never really been as exciting as F14s or VF-1s off a carrier deck. Would be cool to do a scene with Valks to Danger Zone though
  2. I'm fairly confident that 2202 will leave Andromeda more or less alone. If there will be any modifcations, it will probably be done tastefully like they did with Yamato. More detail and maybe more greebles. Resurrection was hard to watch, but can you imagine if Michael Bay got a hold of Yamato?
  3. Awesome, thanks for the info! There are a few modellers out there who have built Tamiya's 1/350 scale IJN Yamato and put it up next to the 1/350 Bandai model....so cool.
  4. Has anyone else watcehd the live-action version yet? Apologies if there is, the Search function is NOT my friend, and didn't find a thread on the topic, So, I watched it last night, or at least tried to watch it and I have to say for me that this anime did not translate well to live action. I realize that Japanese film productions often have budgetary constraints, unlike their Hollywood counterparts, but this was just really hard to watch. I couldn't get through the live-action Kenshin without gagging, I didn't do so well with the live action Otoko no Yamato well as live action Uchu Senkan Yamato (though both Yamato films had a few moments I liked) either so maybe this sort of thing just isn't for me? I'm not hating on the manga or the anime, I actually did watch the anime on Netflix, but found that I lost interest somewhere along the line, and though I finished watching it, not a lot of it was very memorable for me. Anyone else feel the same way?
  5. That sucks, because the film really didn't go the way I hoped it would, and I'm craving more live-action goodness. A few years ago, there was a pachinko promotional video that was really impressive for what it was at the time. I really, really love photo-realistic images of uchu senkan Yamato. Another thing that sort of bugged me about it (sorry for continuing to rant) is I felt the main turns moved too fast. 2199, despire it being a cartoon, seems so much more realistic. Anyway, back to the 2202, one of my favourite weapons are the main gun's Type 3 projectiles. I really hope they don't lose that feature in the refit. The firing effects are just outstanding and I hope there's more of that in 2202. Just out of curiosity, did they retain the 46cm (18.1in) barrel diameter?
  6. A little off topic, but the live action Yamato film left a bad taste in my mouth. I seriously hope it gets a remake based on 2199 and 2202. The characters (yes, I know they're animated characters) don't appear over the top with emotions all the time, unlike their live-action counterparts. Plus the ship doesn't get nuked at the end, still not sure why they decided to blow it up. Anyway, back on topic, really looking forward to 2202. I think I've watched 2199 4 or 5 times now and it would be nice to have something new Lots of images of Yamato in various states of disrepair coming up: Some really cool imagery but did something happen to Yamato between 2199 and 2202?
  7. Yeah, that was something that really stood out for me as well, very impressive. I don't ever recall dragons in action being portrayed so well on film. The camera angles, their movement, the way they banked and hovered...all really well done.
  8. Yep, no more Special Fried Rice from Uncle Hong's Kitchen. It's time for Uncle Ben's Special Blend American rice, lol! Wonder what Bummble Bee's mouth looks like?
  9. Too dark? I sort of saw this coming with Disney at the helm. Hopes of a really dark film with Vader in his prime probably won't materialize. You can't have characters like him portrayed for who they really are: ....when this is really what Disney wants:
  10. I just watced X-Men Origins Wolverine again, hadn't seen it since it came out, but I don't remember it being that bad, lol! I guess with the newer films, the stories got so much better, so when i went back to see it, I thought it was damn near unwatchable, with so many cringworthy moments, hahahaha!
  11. Hey Mike, you must have sold several of these kits, has anyone (other than you) posted pics of their builds?? Would be awesome to see other people's builds. For anyone who doesn't know, this kit is MASSIVE. It's so awesome, but I know if I try to build it, I will mess it up, so still hoping to find someone local who's good with resin kits to build it for me, lol!
