  1. Haha, very cool. Someone do a VF-1 please
  2. https://www.comiccrusaders.com/preview-robotech-11/ I have found something I hate more than Macross 7
  3. There's a pretty active thread, mostly chatter about firearms here:
  4. I was afraid of that. Star Trek made years of shows about life on one ship, imagine if they introduced 100 Excelsior class ships in the second season of TOS? I really, REALLY liked 2199. I hope 2202 isn't a shitty sequel...
  5. I think Yamato's doing a great job of revitalizing the franchise without getting to weird. The writers for Macross on the other hand, seem to have gotten to that fork in the road where reality went right, and they took a hard left.
  6. Just noticed you're in Vancouver, lol! I can't say I've bumped into many other Macross fans around here, that happen to like guns as well
  7. I can't believe that thread died in 2012.
  8. It's only grey, but it already looks better than the bag of shite 1/72 Hasegawa that I'm attempting to build, lol!
  9. My wife's Japanese, and though she sat through and enjoyed SFDM and DYRL with me, she thought 7 was retarded. I couldn't convince her to watch F and though I'm willing to give Delta a try, I have little hopes of getting her to.
  10. When you put it that way, sounds like I need an entire bottle of Scotch. I think I kind of know how Podtastic feels, except I hated M7 and only hated Frontier a little less, lol! I'll still try to watch it though, and drink a lot before I start so I have an open mind ahead of time. I managed to force myself to watch 7 in it's entirety, Frontier as well, so I should be able to power through Delta, especially if it's less shitty than 7.
  11. Ok, I'll give it a shot. Sounds like I may need a bit of alcohol to get through it though, haha!
  12. Lol, I didn't even watch Delta, should I waste my time? ETA: Never mind, just read the wiki summary and I think I understand why there seems to be fewer and fewer Macross fans nowadays.
  13. Lol, sometimes I get a little OCD so I'm surprised I didn't go through my lawn with a fine tooth comb trying to find it. So, after building this thing, I got a little confidence and went back to revisit a 1/72 scale VF-1S Strike I started about 10 years ago. Holy crap that little thing is complex. The lines on the Hasegawa are also super fine and I have a feeling it's going to come out looking like crap if I try to finish it. I have a Hasegawa 1/48 Strike as well, and to be honest, it doesn't look any easier. I might just go to the 2199 version of the 1/500 Yamato instead, haha!
  14. I'll admit, they look cool, and gimmicks help sell a product, but FFS, why do they keep illuminating what is essentially a camera pod? Put the shiny things and blinky lights elsewhere.
  15. From Cosmo DNA: Space Battleship Yamato Yamato brought the Cosmo Reverse System home from Iscandar, which restored the global environment as it was before the Garmillas invasion of the solar system. After finishing its important task, Yamato was enshrined in a submarine dock as a memorial ship, but under the Earth Federal Government’s new “Wave-Motion Gun fleet initiative” policy, it was decided to return Yamato to the battle lines. Extensive remodeling by Sanada was pushed forward by this stressful decision, including refurbishment of the Wave-Motion Gun. The addition of a factory within the ship, strengthening of the armor, and the addition of anti-aircraft guns give it a more robust form and it awaits a new voyage. Name: Yamato-type ship number 1, Yamato (first remodeled type) Length :333m Main machine: Dimensional Wave-Motion Engine x 1 Prime weapon: Dimensional Wave-Motion radiation discharger (Wave-Motion Gun) 48cm triple-barrel positron shock cannon x 3 20cm triple-barrel positron shock cannon x 2 Torpedo launching tube x 12 8-port missile launch tower x 1 Type 94 depth charge launcher x 2 Anti-aircraft pulse laser turrets, several
  16. Thanks! My 3.5 yr old likes to hold it as we're watching through 2199 together. I'm planning on building the 2199 edition 1/500 (which is actually bigger than the 2010 release in the pics) so I have something to hold as we watch through 2202, lol! Really looking forward a completed and subbed 2202 series
  17. I have a couple of Seiko watches and they're great watches: But I agree with others, the Macross markings are a bit too subtle for me to jump on it.
  18. Been a while since I visited this thread. Still holding out on watchng any of it until it's complete with English subs so I can binge watch it. In the meantime, I slapped together a 1/500 scale Yamato from Bandai (repost from another thread): Some outdoor shots: Be gentle, I haven't touched a plastic model over 10 years
  19. Lol, I saw those clips in Hobby Japan years ago as well, just never bothered to order them or try to DIY them. They helped a lot Anyway, wrapped up the build, it was fun to get it together. My kit looks like it just rolled off the assembly line though. I did some panel lining, but it doesn't appear that obvious in the photos compared to in-person: I actually lost a piece and though the kit came with a few spares, it did not come with a spare of the one I lost (rocket launcher behind the smokestack). I was painting outside and when I walked away for a bit, the wind blew everything into my lawn. I recovered everything except for that one piece. I just ended up throwing an extra turret in it's place. I probably should have used a less glossy wood finish Not sure if the lighting was better outside, but I did my best to capture a few images: Anyway, this kit was a pleasure to build. The last kit I started was a Hasegawa 1/72 scale VF-1S Strike Valkyrie and I never got past the cockpit. I should go back to it, but I remember it being a lot harder to work on than this kit. Maybe I should just go back and slap it together and not really care about the results. The problem is, it was 10 years ago and I'm staring to get middle-age eyes. I'll probably need reading glasses or a big magnifying glass to work on it, lol! Well, if it ends up too challenging, I may start the 2199 1/500 scale Yamato instead. Since it's bigger than this kit, it might be even easier to work on
