  1. I remember their enamels were good, but thay was ages ago.
  2. Oh, I saw that vid! This is a cool one too, painted in DYRL colors:
  3. Yes, a Macross kit!!! I feel really bad because it's been ages since I last built one
  4. That is a skinny gun/rifle... Reinforce with brass rod or no space?
  5. Oh wow, that is some beautiful custom work.
  6. That sounds like a colossal PITA
  7. @Thom Lol, it's true, if you zoom into my work, you can see a lot of seams that I miss. It's pretty sloppy work compared to you guys. That being said, once in a while I build something that makes me wonder how the hell I managed to do that. @pengbuzz Oh man, that larger DX toy in the picture really needs some personality. It looks so sterile, lol! @wm cheng Did you weather your DXs? I was wondering if I had the guts to do that. I saw a few guys painted their landing gear and bays, did you post any pics of your custom DXs? @Bolt Oh man, I stay up all night sometimes and roll into work in my pajamas.....literally since I work from home now. Compound that with the screaming kids, diaper changes.....I drink gallons of coffee just to stay awake at meetings, lol.....so brutal.
  8. Well, I really hope they phase them out rather than eradicate. I can't imagine how hard it would be to wipe out an existing army of seasoned veteran clone troopers with a handful of new hires that can't hit the broad side of a barn, lol!
  9. I don't mean to toot my own horn, my builds look like garbage compared to some of the artists here (ahem Mechtech, WM Cheng, countless others). But if I'm going to be honest, my little 1/72 Hasegawa builds spark more joy than the 1/48 toys. I have a 1/48 Strike Valk in my queue, can't wait to get started on it, but I just need to organize some more display space. My DXs are all back in their boxes, lol!
  10. That's what I was thinking. These are way cheaper and for those of us who want even more detail than the DXs and seldom transform them anyway, it's way more economical to just build your own. I'll be honest, my in-laws sent me the Roy with Strike packs and I just received my VF-1D, but I wasn't very excited about them. I recently got back into models and all I could think of when I got these guys was ohh.....this shape isn't right, oh the markings are nice but look at all those seam lines, and where is the shading?
  11. I honestly couldn't wrap my head around it. There was a guy on the local firearm forum that used to try and push MLP onto other members. He got banned, but I don't remember for what.
  12. Let's just say I indirectly work for her. Hahahahah!
  13. Revell and their weird battleship scales. But that's awesome, and I love that you modernized it.
  14. Oh, now that is cool. What scale is that?
  15. I got the feeling that it was only Yamato that fired projectiles, but I could be wrong. It's not like they were firing the original WWII 46cm shells, they looked like some sort of modern shell, so maybe they were adapted to fire from other ships? Either way, it's a nice backup option and it was fun to see. I think they were only used once in 2202.
  16. I drink a lot of coffee when the sky isn't dark.
  17. 2205....PLEASE BE GOOD!!!! One thing I really liked about 2199 was that larger capital ships like SBY didn't turn on a dime or maneuver quickly. Because it was slow and lumbering, it preserved the illusion of being a massive warship....well, space battleship. Hell, even the main turrets didn't move quickly (something the movie failed at). I almost lost it when it fired conventional rounds, so awesome watching those giant fireballs erupt from those guns. I want to feel that magic again.
