  1. There's a special place in hell for scalpers.
  2. That head sculpt is awesome. Love the camera detail behind the green,
  3. I can't believe 20 years has gone by since it first came out.......I bought a bunch when they first came out, haven't completed a single kit yet, lol!
  4. I thought it might have been a one-off, but I have heard this in Japan. A few weeks ago, I went to a place that had previously enjoyed toys, and they had two Yamato 1/60 V2 Strike Valks, one Hikaru and one Roy. So the Roy was merely opened box, but otherwise mint and I picked it up for 12,000 yen. The Hikaru had a broken shoulder and it was selling for 22,000 yen. Before I purchased the Roy, I asked about the price difference as I was concerned the Roy must have been yellowed, broken and completely fukked for the price difference. The clerk only mumbled something about the other one being more expensive simply because it was the Ichijyo Hikaru version. One an only hope when the Roy comes out, it won't have as much demand in Japan. Years ago (whenever they were first released), I saw a Yammie 1/48 Roy on clearance at some shop in Akihabara for 5,900 yen....yeah, you read that right, I'm still kicking myself for not buying it back then.
  5. Oh, I remember these. Kurt did the craziest customs. Glad to see his work pop up again.
  6. While I was in Japan, I picked up a previously enjoyed 1/60 V2 Roy Strike for fairly cheap (cheaper than the KO). The shop selling it listed it as box opened, but when I opened it, it was basically brand new, no crackling on the rainbow canopy, no yellowing, stickers weren't applied. I was concerned about the shoulder thing, but it seems to be okay. Anyway, figured it was cheap enough to give to my 5 year old, but the thing is a huge pain in the dick to transform, even for me. He didn't have a lot of fun with it and I ended up giving him my old 1/55 chunky Hikaru Strike to play with while I mucked around with the 1/60. Anyway, he figured out the 1/55 easily.
  7. Apart from the balloon hands and pilot uniform, did they address the differences between SDFM and DYRL correctly?
  8. Looks like it translated well to 3d
  9. STD is the first Star Trek series I haven't bothered to watch. I didn't even put in the effort to stream, torrent or ask friends to d/l for me.
  10. Haven't heard anything, didn't see anything at any of the book/magazine stores I visited a few weeks ago
  11. Still not sure how they screwed up the 001/100 on the right tail wing.
  12. My latest haul from my Japan trip: (everything except for the black label). Had to buy the 7-11 whiskey for $hits and giggles. The bottle on the left is just a run of the mill bottle of Koshi No Kanbai. The bottle on the right is produced once a year and not exported outside of Niigata. This might only mean something to hardcore sake fans.
  13. Chalk it up to the bulkier uniform from DYRL? It is supposed to be bulkier right?
  14. Reposting a pics from the original post, got buried fast with all the chatter about the new Hikki 1S, lo! Some of you mil guys will get this pose. I can't imagine Max giving anyone the knifehand, but I'd imagine it would be a $hitty experience because he seems like a pretty chill dude. I was trying to recreate that scene where Max finds himself in a Zentradi washroom but this was the wrong angle and there was no urinal. But the washlet didn't turn out in this photo. I think the Zentradi wouldn't have been so pissed off if only they could $hit in luxury.
  15. Jesus, how many of these do you have again?
  16. Some observations with the 1S, maybe it's been discussed already, but it seems to be missing the tiny skull decal behind the cockpit, those were a DYRL thing right? Also, the intakes on the chest.....they seem to be missing the panel lines that we get on the Yamatos...this goes for both TV ans DYRL versions of this toy..
  17. At Tamashi Nations the day I left......so close and yet so far The staff have no idea how to pose these toys, lol!
  18. OK, so I know the Hikki 1S is all the rage right now, and nobody really cares about the Max 1A at the moment, but it was all I could get while I was in Japan and I snapped a few photos at the in-law's backyard. Photo dump: With some of the toys my kid got. ' Some of you mil guys will get this pose. I was trying to recreate that scene where Max finds himself in a Zentradi washroom but this was the wrong angle and there was no urinal. But the washlet didn't turn out in this photo
  19. I don't feel so bad about leaving a few days before the release then.
  20. ¥ 27,500 + ¥ 400 shipping That's still almost ichimon yen over MSRP........maybe prices will continue to drop.
  21. Oh, without a doubt the Hikki 1S with black and red markings looks amazing. The thing is, I already have a Yammie Hikki 1S and I can't afford to collect doubles. I figured since I would be in the area though, if I could grab one at MSRP, I would. Then come back and trade my Yammie Hikiki for a Roy or sell it and pick up a Roy later on. Anyway, on my way out, I saw a 1A Max selling for 21,000 yen, so there is hope for folks to grab these things at non-absurd prices. One of the guys working at one of the local shops told me that historically in other toy lines, the Hikki 1S have been able to fetch higher prices over the Roy 1S, so there is hope that when the Roy comes out, prices won't get too crazy. Who knows how true this is on the open market outside of Japan, it was just his observation at the local shop level.
  22. Well, no luck. Back in Canada empty handed.....well, apart from the Max 1A. Will skip the 1S Hikaru I guess and wait out for Roy as originally planned.
