It would be nice, not holding my breath, but it would be nice if these things came down to prices normally associated with toys, not collectibles.

No Time To Die - Bond 25 and future movies
peter replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I might give this movie a chance, but if James Bond ends up being anybody else but a white British male, I'm fukking walking out of the theater and asking for my money back. Of course, they better not pull that $hit at the end of the movie, or asking for a refund might be a bit hard, lol!- 96 replies

I doubt that explanation will be well received, even in the Japanese market. I've read some pretty scathing reviews in Japanese. Japanese otaku can be pretty ruthless when it comes to some collectibles.

Wow, that sucks. It also sucks for anyone buying MISB after a significant amount of time has passed after it was originally purchased from a retailer. Not a lot you can do about it a few months or years after it was originally purchased. If I'm buying privately, I'd prefer mint but opened boxi. At least it would have been inspected for defects.

Setting aside my personal hatred for anything Harmony Gold, well done review, really enjoy your videos. I will say that this is the best looking "veritech" that HG is responsible for compared to any previous offerings (the MPC toys still give me the creeps). I think the 1/48 Chogokin is in a completely different ballpark though, and is light years better than than the KC 1/72, in appearance, size and value. That's going by MSRP, not current market rate. If I had $109 USD burning a hole in my pocket, and I had to have something similar in size, I'd probably cough up an extra $60 for the Valkyrie Factory VF-1S Strike. Yeah, the Valk Factory is third party, and KC isn't, but in my personal opinion, the only difference really is that KC has the legal right and license to make their toy and Valk Factory does not, but at the end of the day, they're both knock-offs to me.

I like that dashboard a lot better. From the Hasegawa 1/48 kit?

This is promising.

Thanks for posting, keep them coming! If you have time, can you post pics of a side-by-side comparison without the strike pack? I had my Chogokin SDFM Max 1A next to my Yamato DYRL Max 1A so not a perfect comparison. Overall dimensions are not that far apart. Things that stood out for me were the Chogokin SDFM 1A head is a lot bigger than the Yamato DYRL 1A head, and same with the GU-11 gun pod, and the Chogokin is a lot heavier than the Yamato. Other obvious differences have probably been discussed to death already. I've been wondering about the rifle slings.....are they supposed to be leather? If so, where did they find cows (my M1907 pattern sling is made from cowhide) big enough for one continuous strip of leather for a GU-11 size rifle? Or were they made from the tanned hides of dead Zentradi they harvested?

I haven't watched anything dubbed since Robocrap, which has essentially scarred me for life. But it's good to hear that dubbing is getting better, I might give it a try.

The 1/55 chunky monkey came out in what, 1984? Then the Yammy 1/48 came out in 2002, 18 years after the chunky? And now we have the DX Chogokin which came out in 2018, so 16 years after the Yammy. The Yammy was light years ahead of the chunky, and as much as I like my new DX Chogokin over my Yammies, I wouldn't say it's leaps and bounds ahead, like the yammy was over the chunky.
