  1. Combo of the awesome build plus photography skills.....definitely gave the illusion that the set went on forever....I was guessing maybe 10ft x 10 ft at least, lol!
  2. Now I can't unsee this....
  3. I'm wondering though, Roy's in his DYRL flight suit, but Roy's 1S never appeared without the Strike pack in DYRL right?
  4. Apparently the full-scale release has been green lit for 29Jan20 http://www.hcj.jp/vf1/home.html?fbclid=IwAR1NA15QYXVgSZtZw_HMuy48uYvMxw4AcFQnL1Tq9KzWwDrbjkl3tu4PIok
  5. I read somewhere that this is actually happening
  6. Yeah, the DX 1J didn't have them and neither did Max, so I figured they might include them in the DYRL 1S, but they didn't They also left out the little skull decal by the canopy.
  7. See?? The vertical lines in the chest intakes are there on their 1/35........ Where did they go on their 1/48? Yamato did them, but Bandai didn't. Are they not line-art accurate?
  8. Just watched it, I liked it. Not hard to find something bad in anything. Just went in expecting 50/50 chance I would hate it (heard about time he mixed reviews) .....turned out I liked it, didn't waste my money or time.
  9. Looks like they were planning on including a standing pilot figure at one point in time? Probably axed that idea since the pilots are too small and scrawny, lol!
  10. I don't know a lot about Air Force, but in the Army, nicknames can be the worst. There's a guy in my unit who got the nickname "Pubes" and he's been stuck with it for almost ten years. Look into the Weapons Banter thread for the backstory.
  11. I like Wotafa's reviews, so does my kid, lol!
  12. They look good, except for the mounting bracket for the boosters. I realize it puts a lot of strain on the backpack in battroid mode, but I just prefer the cleaner appearance that Yamato did in their 1/48 line. The way the DX mounts looks similar to the Yamarcadia 1/60 line. I understand that the storage/vs detail has already been discussed, but it kind of blows that they didn't include any detail under the leg armor, nor any micro missile detail under the front end of the boosters. I ordered a set of these, so I'm already in, but I'm definitely going to hang on to my Yammies after seeing this. The DX with strike kit without a doubt looks awesome with all the tampo and other details, and I accept that it is a superior toy in many respects, but it will never be able to do this:
  13. Watched an F-18 pilot review of the trailer.....he mentioned something that I'm not sure is actually true. He said that it was his understanding that all the flying in the movie was supposedly real, then he got to the shot of the F14 and did not confirm whether it was real or not. Was what he said about all the flying being real, true? He seemed unsure about the F14 scene. Or maybe it was real footage, but from before their retirement and just enhanced for the scene? There's no way they got one flying again right? Would be sweet if this movie was just a teaser for F14s coming back, but I know it's just wishful thinking, lol!
  14. Or he's going for that used, battle worn look. Never heard of that guy who painted his AR and threw it down his driveway?
  15. Need smaller wings and micro missile pods. I saw a beautiful custom Hasegawa a few years ago in Hobby Japan that looked spot on from that DYRL pose, but yeah, not a toy.
  16. I'd say Tekering got it close enough considering the limitations of the toy vs anime magic: Just need it to get it on a display stand to have it floating in space
  17. I can't tell, but is it mostly a fixed pose?
