40+ former Robotech fan here. I was a Robotech fan at one point, because that's all I knew. I'd read that RT had taken from Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada, but didn't have access to the original versions (I didn't like Southern Cross at all). My dad bought me models and toys with only Macross or Mospeada, with no mention of Robotech on the packaging so I started to think about it a bit more. Mac II came out in '92 and Robotech really didn't make sense anymore. I discovered DYRL in '94 and that solidified my appreciation for Macross. I tried to get more original material, but was cock-blocked by Robotech at every step. I found it frustrating, but didn't really know why it was so hard to get original Macross stuff. It wasn't until I joined this forum in '03 that I started to read more about the history and the background. After that, I didn't want to have anything to do with Robotech, HD and the rest of it. So it surprises me that Robotech, after all the crap HG pulled, still has any fans at all.

Yah, looks like a bad case of genital herpes. Also, it's what you get for having anything to do with HG.

Is this new? I thought there was some sort of large scale cockpit with a speaker box attached to it or something?

On a positive note, it is a very nicely done 1/48 Hasegawa build.

Also, in terms of facts, nothing is fact unless backed up by sufficient evidence. The evidence you have provided is not sufficient. What we have is a statement from you saying you have a source in Bandai that stated such and such, accompanied by images of a Hasegawa 1/48. I can understand that if you did indeed have a friend working for Bandai, you would not want to compromise their employment by posting their e-mail with the company letter head and your contact's name, but when you post such a statement, then post images of a product from a different company, you should expect a little push-back.

@bbilly29 Please clarify the source of the photos. Are these images what your friend from Bandai sent you, or did you just grab them from somewhere to illustrate your point? Also, please clarify if you can tell the difference between the Hasegawa 1/48, the Yamato 1/48 and the Bandai DX 1/48. You're claim that the images you posted are of a toy that can transform suggest you may not be able to tell the difference. Apart from staff working at Hasegawa, Yamato, and Bandai, you're posting to some of the internet's foremost experts on these particular toy/model lines who take extreme pleasure in scrutinizing the minutiae of every single detail of these products.
