Lol, thanks! That's a wealth of information, but fortunately, my OCD doesn't run that far. If I ever got myself into the 1/350 though, I think that would be an excellent guide.

That.....is ...insane.....and I thought I had a lot of weapons kits. Looking forward to seeing your squadron i should build a few more 1/72s. Need a few more brownies to go with the heroes.

Thanks for the tips, I was actually planning on cutting out a bit more of the vertical bits because they looked too plain. But maybe I'll see if there is anything I can glue to them. Started the tedious task of masking bits on the secondary hull and nacelles. I broke down and ordered the decals for the strongbacks. Which was pretty stupid because with shipping from the US to Canada, it probably would have just been a few bucks more to go to the local hobby shop and buy a complete 1/537 which comes with the strongback decals. I also went a bit further down the rabbit hole and realized the appearance of the Refit in TMP looked slightly different than the Ent-A.......sigh.... The strongbacks and other bits appeared more grey in the TMP versus the blueish color we got later with the Ent-A. Anyway, when I ordered the strongback decals for my Autodestruct refit, I didn't eve check what color I requested....but it turned out to be the gray ones so.....good thing I guess? Lol! Ok, I need to get off the internet.

Got excited thinking my Klingon K'Tinga decals arrived today but it turned out something else came. Totally forgot I ordered these for a monster I picked up at a model swap meet. Wonder if I can make this thing look good box stock without having to buy any photo-etch or accuratizing parts......well, back in the pipe of to-do builds. Need to finish this: Almost ordered the strongback decals for it, but then decided to stick with the plan, no extra cost into rebuilding this thing. $27.81USD to get the decals here.

Holy crap those are tiny. And I thought the Monsters on my SDF1 were small, lol!

Hachette Collection 1/24 VF-1S (subscription collectable)

Yeah, looks amazing. Really, really regret not getting this now. Some more reference pics: Anyone know where this thing is now? Would still like to check it out if it's still on display somewhere. -
Ok, so the muffin tray looked really cheap when I thought about it. Way too flimsy and not really believable as the frame of the enterprise so I ended up chopping most of it up. I did a little greeble work tonight to make up for the chopped frame. To be honest, I think this might be the first time I've ever added greebles (apart from my lame attempt to recreate the surface of the ARMD carrier for my Valkyrie stand). I didn't use any canon Star Trek cutaways or reference guides, I literally threw parts into it to make it look a little busier, including a few more Macross bits thrown in there for good measure. Hardcore Trek fans will definitely roll their eyes at this, lol!

Always amazed how much info is there. There'€ a good article about the refit as well as the Ent D on how different the studio models appeared in person vs on screen.

Always sad to watch.....can't believe I'm attempting to recreate a childhood nightmare, lol! Didn't they make a giant saucer with a wax surface that they just melted? Threw some primer onto the build to see where the major problems are. I'm not exactly happy with the current sub-assemblies, but I have to make due since it's not a ground up build. It's almost making me rethink refurbishing those two K'Tinga Battle Cruises, but too late, I already ordered replacement decals from HDA, lol! Anyway, masking and painting with the way the ship is now is going to be a pain in the buttocks. It feels sturdy though, with all the handling while sanding, the pylons haven't snapped off so that's a good thing right?
-
Which always had me scratching my head, why didn't the auto destruct overload the warp core. Makes me want to research the self destruct system on these ships. Did they have explosive material lining the saucer and bridge area this whole time, in the event that they needed to activate the auto destruct? Lol! @MechTech bingo! Good eye! Btw, need to make a video of your build, see all the moving parts

Is there absolutely no chance Hasegawa will do a 1/48 VF-1 Battroid? Guessing no

Since this build will likely be covered with muck, I decided to take care of those pesky extra grid lines with the oribital. Good enough for this project. Primer will tell what I missed. Actually, I'll probably fill a bit more before primer. Ended up just screwing the pylons into the strongbacks. Looks horrible inside, but the nacelles surprisingly lined up. The bridge area looked a bit naked, but I have no idea where it is. So I used my spare saucer as a guide. Threw some greebles on it to make it look a bit busier. It's not at all line accurate. I should have downloaded a pic of a cutaway Refit before I started, by oh well. Used some left over Valkyrie parts....points to anyone who can ID the green bits More to follow.

Looks good. Tempted to slap together my Bandai Vehicle Model Star Destroyer. Brought a bunch of those mini Bandai Star Wars Models back.

Thanks for the tips! Will keep plugging away with whatever I have laying around

Also found a couple of K'Tinga battle cruisers. Painted these grey back and hand rushed some weird colors on them. Looks like I have two complete ships here, but will have to take a closer look when I have time.

I might try that, the last time I simulated burning was probably with a lighter ot candle, lol! Not a lot of progress to report on the self-destruct project. When I assembled this thing 30 years ago I globbed on the glue and it was so uneven, it left huge amounts of light shining through from the side. I took the two and sanded off the glue and now they mate together much better. Can't believe how crooked the neck in relation to the bottom of the saucer. I said I wasn't going to bother with the Aztec decals on this build so I'm not sure why I'm trying to fill in the grid lines. I might try something with a pencil and see how that turns out. Will be Mickey mouse though, not going g to stress myself out over this build, just going to have fun with it

[Netflix] Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy: Siege
peter replied to Old_Nash's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
At least he still has a voice in this series. If he ends up talking through the radio because he loses his voice next season, I'm out. -
I have some experience with rifle scopes...not sure if that would help.

Hope you find something, we have a branch dojo in Boston, but I guess that's no help

Lol, I recently necro-threaded a topic about rank in Macross.
-
Wow, blown away, that is amazing!

I had that kit (one on the right). Proportions of the bow are really weird compared to the anime and line art. I really didn't like that kit.
