  1. They're in a packing order??? I had no idea. I almost bought a box when I was in Japan a few days ago, but even there they're so damn expensive. I said screw it, I don't like dolls that much.
  2. hmm, thanks, I'll give that a try, but I still can't figure out why it used to play in Windows media player and all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore. I even tried to download the same 348 meg file again, because I thought maybe my existing file was corrupt, but the new file I downloaded doesn't work either. There's gotta be something wrong with my media player.....crap.
  3. Hey everyone, I know it's crappy of me to have a d/l version and not the original 5,000 + yen DVD version, but I needed subtitles and I'm poor. But enough of my lame excuses, here goes my request for help anyway. I have this version that's 348 megs and it used to work, but for some reason, my media player doesn't play the video part anymore, only sound. It attempts to download a codec for it but says error downloading codec. I checked to see if there are any new updates, but it says I have the latest version of media player. It used to work, I've watched it over a dozen times, but I can't figure out why it won't now. Any suggestions?
  4. 1/48 = 2pcs ....sad
  5. Yeah, I just got back from Japan a few days ago and I found some really cheap Macross stuff. At the retail level, especially the smaller stores, if they find that they're not moving the Macross stuff, they'll slash prices big time. I picked up a VF-1s hikaru type for ichi mon, that's 10,000 yen plus a strike armor set for 3,000 yen. This store had piles of them, but I only had so much space in my suitcase. Another interesting place for Macross stuff is this store chain called "Book-off". I know, sounds weird, but people off-load their used books and magazines here, and they're usually in excellent condition. I found Macross books for 100-200 yen, that usually retailed for over 2,000 yen. Some of these locations even have entire libraries of Hobby Japan.
  6. Just got back from Japan today and here's what I managed to pick up: 1/48 Hikaru VF-1S for 11,000 yen 1/48 Strike armour for 4,800 yen 1/72 Strike Battroid (Hasegawa) 2,500 yen I think the 1/48 Valk was a pretty good price...everywhere else I went they were going for the standard 14,800 or whatever.... If anyone's interested, I found it in a toy shop in Akihabara, pretty much as soon as you step out of the train station.
  7. Ok, not sure if this question's been answered or not (feel like a noob for asking), but does Hikaru's VF-1S come with a black or red heatshield? I was just poking around on Yamato's website and I saw it with a black heatshield. http://www.yamato-toys.com/list.php?-a=pro...2&-id=193&menu= And again I saw one with a black heatshield, but most examples I've seen have a red one...which is it? Or are the black ones custom mods?
  8. I'm out...I'll be in Japan - the next best place for Japanese toys.
  9. Hey cool, thanks for the encouragement. I'll see what I can slap together.
  10. You built those? Either you're really good, or your full of $hit....and I'm leaning toward the latter. I'm not aware of any company that makes the Ferrari 456M, the new Z4 kit, or the 993 turbo for that matter. As for models, I haven't been doing any types of models for the last year or so. I kind of stopped mid project of a 1/24 scale GT500 NSX. Here's a pic of a prototype GT500 NSX I built from an existing kit. I just covered the entire model with CF decal: http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/attachment....=&postid=172811 I posted pics of my other stuff in this link if anyone's interested: http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread....ght=neos+models I'm now working on a VF-1S Strike and I could use all the help and tips I can find. It's the first aircraft model I've worked on since grade 9 and the ones I built then really sucked. I remember seeing a step-by-step from wm cheng a long time ago and I'd like to use that as a guide but I couldn't find the link. Anyone here point me in the right direction?
  11. wm cheng, wicked models....I'm striving to make my models look as good as yours. I haven't built aircraft models since junior high and they sucked. I've been building car models for the last few years, and even then, I haven't built any for a while. I tried to find your step-by-step on the VF-1S Strike....you did do one right? Can anyone here point me to the link because I tried the search but couldn't find it...is it in the old forums? Thanks in advance.
  12. I finally gave in last week and picked up a fast-pack set....I didn't even have a 1/48 valk yet.....I was planning on waiting for the VF-1S Hikaru release but couldn't wait any longer and went out and got the low-vis the very next day. I'm pretty happy with it...I'm biased to models, but the 1/48 scale comes pretty close. As for detail, the club-M still dominates.....if anyone compares the Yammie as a model to the Club-M, and says they like the yammie better, they're *uckin' nuts. The Yam can't compare to the club-M for detail. However, as a toy, it's the best one I've ever owned. Anyway, back on topic, does anyone have more pics of the two side-by-side?
  13. Was the whole thing repainted, or was paint just added? Also, was the whole thing sprayed with dullcote because the plastic doesn't look as shiny as out-of-the-box. Looks awesome...
  14. Hey guys, first post here since the old forums...still trying to figure some stuff out. Anyway, I'm still in for HK next year. Actually, I was going next weekend but the flights look kind of full coming back so I decided against it. Anyone here going to Japan in October for the motorshow in Tokyo?
