Speaking of Autobacs, this is what I went for a ride in when I stopped by Super Autobacs in my girlfriend's hometown.

Macross was chock-full of errors and inconsistencies....but it was still fun to watch. My childhood imagination at the time magically "erased" or "explained" all of the *uck ups in Macross.

He stole my idea....well, not completely. I'm building a 1:10 scale one in my basement, but I'm running out of space real quick.

Just to amuse AgentOne..... Shrug. Cause its cool that's why. That's why Basara's VF-19 Kai emits lights from its eyes cause it reeks of coolness. You want it to make sense? It could make sense. Maybe its like the old Night Vision Goggles and they emit a dim green light when turned on. So the valk has night vision, geddit? Besides, space could be a dark dark place. Basara and anything that has to do with him and his ugly Valkrie-with-a-mouth is anything but cool. But there's another thread busy discussing the coolness and uncoolness of Basara and the whole Macross 7 thing.... Night vision goggles emit light only to the viewer, not to anyone trying to shoot the person wearing them. If they emit light so anyone can see the user, it would defeat the purpose of NVGs.

Haha, I see this topic hasn't been shut down yet..... Ok, so the head unit is supposed to be some kind of camera pod am I right? Radar and all that $hit? Why hell would a camera pod be emmitting light??? It makes absolutely no sense. Toynami did it because they're a stupid company that thought it's target market would be easily amused with lights and shiny things. And, to an extent, they were right. I'm surprised they didn't add sound effects, but I guess they left that to the owners of the toys....... wolfx, when I requested posting of pictures if you did it, by "it", I meant if you lit up the landing lights and wings....not the head unit.

That's a way better idea, light up the wings and landing lights instead of the head. I haven't seen many people's eyes glow with light, it would look funny if a Valkrie's did. I've seen a pictures somewhere before where somebody customized a Valk with lit up wing and landing lights. Sounds like a lot of work though.... If you do it, make sure you post pictures!

Haha, testor's paint...that brings back memories. I took a perfectly good Bandai : Hi-Metal 1/55 Strike Valkyrie VF-1S Hikaru Type, and painted over the red with flat yellow to make it look like a Roy type. Aweful. I still have the poor thing...I'll take a picture one of these days and post it here in the hall of shame.

I think that if the Valk ran out of bullets in it's gun, it would probably transform and fly away. If that didn't work, I suppose it could use it's gun as a club and smash the head of the enemy (assuming the Valk is fighting Valkrie-metal-robot hand-to-zentraedi-flesh-hand). If the gun were somehow seized from the Valk and it were left with nothing to fight with but it's metal-robot-hands and thrust-vectoring-nozzle-feet, it could always resort to it's head-mounted-lasers to cut off it's opponent's fleshy-head.

I was watching Mac Zero today and I was just thinking about the color of Valks. While the F-14s were all low viz, the zero was bright white with black and yellow stripes. I thought to myself why???? Might as well paint a big red bullseye on your valk. But then, the kid inside me told me who cares what color the Valks are. If you're a good pilot, you'll live, and if you're a $hitty pilot, you're gonna die, that's all there is to it. Low viz or not, a good pilot will see you (or at least his radar-thingie will). If I had my way, I'd have naked women and beer ads painted on my Valk.

Hey, thanks for all the help. In the end, someone sent me a PM (not sure if you wanted to remain anonomous on the board) with a few tips. I ended up downloading DivX player and it works fine. Media Player didn't play it, even with the newest codecs....but then again, maybe I did something wrong. In any event, I can watch it just fine now.
