Has anyone done a custom/garage-kit/resin GBP for the 1/48? I thought I saw somewhere way back that someone was attempting one....

You know, there are a lot of great models out there, but there are very few, like this one who managed to not only build a great model, but take a very cool picture of it! This is a really unique angle and I don't think I've seen anyone take a picture quite like this. Just like someone said, it's not just about the model, it's about the picture too! Awesome picture! Anyway, I hope this thread is still around by the time I finish my Strike.

Yeah, you're right. Tomorrow I'll take a pic of my craptacular valkrie models to get this thread started. Maybe the thread should be renamed "Your crappiest Valkrie models.

Over in the "Toys" discussions, there's this huge thread with members posting pictures of their collections of 1/48s. Some members have obscene numbers of these toys. Are there model collections like that too? Sorry, I'd love to start this thread out with some pictures but I have to admit, I haven't even finished my first Hasegawa Valkrie model. Past creations of mine (by Bandai) are so horrible I'd be ashamed to show them to anyone. My specialty is car models so the cross-over is a little difficult for me....not to mention my extreme laziness.

That looks awesome man. I've been working on my 1/72 Strike for the last year and a half and I doubt if I ever finish it. One thing about Max's Valk....when he had the "001" fin number, was he in a VF-1S by that time?

Man, that site is one of the sorriest ripoffs I've ever seen... no wonder is robotech... they even named one valk "Kawamori"... what kind of vermin made such crap? it's one of the things that truely makes me happy I'm on the macross side, it's the true side, not that turd and complete ripoff of designs that never had anything to do with that POS we all know.... Robosh.it. I wonder if the guys who made that site have any soul... what a lame excuse of a site is that... Careful, don't want to be too nasty to those Robotechers. I got accused for trolling by some nut in another topic.

My opinion Drew? Haha, I hate it. I think it's hideous. I hate Robotech too, but that's not really the point. Wow, that's the first time I've been accused of trolling. Never even in my almost 1000 posts from the old forum have I been accused of trolling. Accused of hating Robotech, yes, but not trolling. I have lots of good things to say here at this forum. Albeit, it's mostly about Macross and certainly not about Robotech, but there's no need to accuse me of being a troll. I guess I could probably be defined as a troll if I went over to the Robotech website and started to preach how great Macross is. And Ladic, while you're accusing me of being a troll, what about the angry drunk here on this forum who tends to curse like a sailor? Would he not have troll-like tendancies? Ladic, you hurt me man. I'm very demoralized.

It's an eyesore. What a way to ruin someone's day by looking at that thing, and seeing the word Robotech and Vertiech all in the same topic.

Maybe there's a really rich Macross fan out there buying up all the crappy MPCs and blowing them up or melting them down. If I had millions of dollars, that's what I'd do just for fun. Then, after I have them melted down, I'd pour the melted plastic into a square mold, and send it back to Toynami for a refund.

Indeed. In some shots he looks like a bobblehead. then what does gamlin look like? Yes! That's him! The 2nd guy from the right! I hate him! He had a brutal haircut. The helmet he sported didn't help his cause.

Makes me wonder if he even watched the series at all... Yes, he did, however, he spent a lot of time with his head in the toilet puking his guts out over what a crappy show it was, thus missing some very important scenes. So perhaps your right, some people probably wonder if he watched the show at all.

Exactly. Yeah, I know...I watched it once after I bought the DVD set and sort of remember them saying something about it but I couldn't bear to watch the series a second time so I'll never figure it out. Anyway, back on topic, Basara's Valk has the ugliest mech Head. Maybe we should start a poll to get some figures.

I like both versions of the VF-1A head, but the DYRL version looks cooler. Between the VF-22 and the 21, I like the ugly circle-eye-thing way better than that stupid Geordie LaForge visor. My favourite head has got to be the VF-1S...but wait, we're talking about the ugliest head right? Then hands down, Basara's head...I mean his Valk's head is the ugliest thing in the entire Macross franchise. Faces should stay off of Valks. Funny, I can accept transformers with mouths, but not Valks. I realize Graham explained the whole face thing, as did several other members, but why do civilians need Valkries? That's like me buying an F-14 and flying it around for fun, or maybe an M1 Abrams tank with a happy face painted on in and driving it to work. What business do I have in either of those machines? Unless of course I was filthy rich, I could then do pretty much whatever I wanted with my money....Michael Jackson does do freaky things with his money.

The M7 helmet I hated the most belonged to the guy who flew the stealth-looking Valkrie (if you can really call that a valkrie....looked like it was going to tip forward whenever in gerwalk)

I hate the M7 helmets with a passion, along with the entire series itself and just about every aspect of the show. The original helmet from SDFM was alright and at first I even liked the flight suits but after watching DYRL...well, what can I say.....to hell with SDFM's helmets and flight suits. Let's just say that now I absolutely loathe the original flight suit and helmet designs. The DYRL helmets are probably very impractical (along with the flight suits), but one of the coolest looking helmets in the entire franchise. And since it's anime, I don't particularly care about it's practicality. It serves it's purpose very, very well...a very stylized design created for the sake of appearance. It's COOL.
