  1. What's a rice car? What's your definition of rice? And why all the hostility? Is the GT-R rice? I don't see many people 4 feet tall driving that car, or any car for that matter....4 feet tall...what is that supposed to imply anyway? Who the hell is 4 feet tall? Are you talking about Hobbits? Children? Amputees? Why do you make fun of these people? Did they offend you in some way personally? ... Rice = Lipstick on a pig... Putting ill-fitting plastic on an economy car, in order to pretend its a race car. 4ft tall = Dorks with "little-man desease." Posers who want to pretend they are something sepcial because they drive an exotic looking car. I guess I am hot on this topic because I run into these types of people often and lets just say I attract trouble. Maybe because of the car I drive, maybe because I seem kinda arogant... I dunno. If that's your definition of rice, then by your definition, the Nismo Skyline GT-R is not a rice car because it's not plastic, it's not ill-fitting (debateable by some I guess), and it's defintely not an economy car. Where I live, I've seen people of all shapes and sizes drive the cars they like and it doesn't really bother me. I've seen huge white guys driving cars like VW GTIs (my friend Jay weighs in at about 300 lbs and drives a silver one....nice car BTW), and smaller asian guys like me (5 feet 7 inches....not quite 4 feet tall) driving an old school Chevelle SS. I guess to a Canadian, they're all imports (inculding the American cars) to us since we don't actually make any of them (with the exception of a few models with factories in Canada). So what's it like down in the states? Haha, some of my backwards friends up here in Canada seem to think "Fast and Furious" is really what it's like down there. You know, with the heavy competition, the angriness, the guns, the gambling. When I used to do it up here, it was all fun and games, everybody just out to have a good time and enjoy a spirted drive (not necesarily drag racing). Just curious, what kind of car do you drive that attracts the kind of heat you're talking about?
  2. "Crush your enemies, see them driven before, and hear the lamentation of the women" - Conan the barbarian Good stuff.
  3. Do you know anything about cars at all? Last I checked, the economy catagory included cars like Toyota Tercel, Vitz, that square looking K-car that Chrysler put out years ago (Honda Civic isn't economy anymore considering the price tag). Now why does it make no sense that the GT-R is fast? Why is it ironic? Why would Nissan produce a $hitty car and expect people to buy it? Wouldn't it make sense for an automitive manufacturer to produce a sports coupe to be fast? Sure, they have the basic coupe and sedan versions of the Skyline that were not meant to be fast, but why can't they make a fast version of it? They race the car, so logic would dictate that they maximize that publicity, R & D, and all that jazz to promote and sell a road going version of that car. Now I understand that some manufactures are doing the retro thing, but I can't quite see the correlation between the Nismo GT-R and an '85 Honda (which model are you referring to by the way?) with "racing". Now, while you are trashing '85 Hondas, correct me if I'm wrong but I think Honda was pretty kick-ass in F1 during that era....anyone here verify the dates Ayrton Senna was racing for Honda during the 80's? About the plastic.....there's probably more alluminum and carbon fibre than plastic, but you can probably read, so it must have been just a typo on your part. Haha, just bugging you! And finally, before all the patriotic American muscle-heads get all bent out of shape, I like muscle cars just fine. Growing up on Dukes of Hazzard (I love the charger), Knight Rider, Smokey and the Bandit, A-Team and shows like that, who could resist?
  4. Pfft....McQuarrie would have drawn a train that looked 10X better and more believable. speaking of that site (www.cgchannel.com) I looked around it a bit and found this.... it's by an Artist named Emmanuel Shiu...pretty cool!!! Is there a bigger shot of that picture?
  5. Damn that looks pretty promising. Wish I still had money to throw away.
  6. The really cool thing is, he's making the thing out of metal, like a tank. It's not a fibreglass-sculpt job. Looks amazing.
  7. I think Duku is Anikin's father.
  8. Haha, Office Space...do you work in a cubicle? I would like to have the SDF1 and take over the world with it.
  9. A few things that I wish they had, like a bit more comedy like in the manga, and more T & A.
  10. Sony's saying March... but remember, this is the same Sony that said that Gran Turismo 4 would be out like a year ago... Speaking of GT4, I played a demo of it at Laox the other day...have to say it was pretty good.
  11. I watched the original animated Appleseed, then watched this new one right after and I have to say....holy $hit it was awesome. Some people expected perfection, I expected to be entertained, and it did the job. There were some scene that made me think "this is why I'm a fan of anime". Don't get your hopes up, it's not perfect. Go into it wth an open mind and it will blow you away.
  12. The DVD was selling for about 3500 yen everywhere I looked the other day. It's way cheaper than Mac Zero DVDs....wonder why.
  13. Man, I've talked to you about that before. I still say you are very lucky. Most of Sony's consoles do die no matter how well you took care of them 18-24 months in their life. Some die alot sooner. I had 2 PS2s taht I took care of religiously. Just like you I have almost every console since my Atari 2600 and all work like brand new (even have cleaning days spread out during the year dediacted solely for consoles). That didn't stop my PS2s from dying. On the other hand Sony does sometime make systems that last like my first gen PSX which was modded and dropped twice by friends (my punishment for taking it out of my house). Yet, it's still working just fine. I'm definately getting a PSP when it comes out tho cuz Sony would have to be really stupid to screw up a handheld. I don't understand what you are talking about. You say most of Sony's consoles, but they've only made two consoles so far right? And you say the PSX works just fine. So, by your reckoning, most of Sony's consoles, 50% of their consoles, or in other words 1 out of their 2 consoles die within 18-24 months? I've got a first gen PS and PS2, and it's been way more than two years with no problems. Most of my friends have a PS2 and only one died and that was because the idiot was running it while it was sitting on the carpet. Anyway, I'm going to pick one up in January, because I need another peice of man-crap. Anyone know when is it going to be released in North America?
  14. Yeah, I think most people here are a little tired and probably bored of trashing Robotech. Don't worry, when they come out with something new and crappy, you can stir the pot then.
  15. I found this little toy store in Akihabara, Japan a few days ago that had a pile of these for about 3000 yen. They also had a 1/48 Roy for about 8000 yen and a 1/48 VF-1J with fastpacks for 9500 yen. I didn't buy any because I had just enough for my train (160 yen left after buying man-crap all day) back to Shinjuku. By the time I got back, the 1J with fastpacks was gone, and so was the Roy.
  16. even as a kid, I knew it was a stupid toy.
  17. peter

    Miram

    got milk?
  18. Yup, seen it about a million times, but never ceases to amaze me. Although, I've never seen all three images peiced together like that...they're always split up. I guess the image you posted is not full size?
  19. The display with the water splitting was a really cool idea. You just need to work on your camera focus! And about the Ostrich looking red....I think it looks good red, who says it has to be orange all the time?
  20. I can't imagine someone here at this forum putting up their hands and saying "no, i refuse to watch it" if they ever made it.
  21. I built one before, but ended up giving it away so I'm building another. Who knows when I'll ever get back to it.
  22. It's going to be the Mobil 1 GT500 NSX
  23. I've been working on this model for over 2 years
  24. and another...last one for now.
