1. I just bought the DVD for $6 CAD. I have to say it was not a complete waste of money. I just read the manga for the first time a couple of weeks ago (haven't seen the anime yet) and it's not bad. I had no idea what Initial D was about until just a few weeks ago. I thought it was going to be some crappy, ridiculous story like Fast and Furious but boy was I wrong. I kind of like Initial D....so far. I've only read the first few manga and watched this new live action movie. Interesting story. To me, that's what racing was all about. Just a couple of friends getting together and getting a little stupid behind the steering wheel. We were fast, but who the hell was furious??? I don't know about you guys, but I've never seen a gun at a street race. Fast and Furious...WTF? Is that how it is in the states? If it is, that's truly scary.
2. I don't think they're getting it.
3. It's heart wrenching, for sure, but have you looked at it in details though? If you know someone from a competent shop, just spend some money fixing up the car and all will be well. At least you know that you're getting a mechanically excellent car. Peter: Thanks. :-) I like your NSX's too. I still need a Tamiya NSX Type R though. ;-) And I would kill for a Rosso NSX kit! 338219 Good luck on those two...boy are they hard to find. Tamiya's NSX-R was re-released a few years ago (Fujimi's 2002 NSX-R sucks) but they're gone again. That Rosso kit will be hard too because the factory burnt down. I still see them once in a while, but too expensive (sometimes around $300 USD). Hey Agent One, what year's your M3 again? My friend let me borrow his for a couple of weeks while he went over seas. I think it might have been a '95. He said it was European-spec (280 hp?). The engine bay defintely looked a little different than other M3s I've seen. Damn, it was a fun car to drive. Learned how to heel-toe on it, haha. Here's the only picture I have of it at the bottom right. Just goofing around at the local race track. Another note...you can barely see the front bumper of that other M3 on the left. That driver is *ucking loaded. He had just purchased a brand new M3 and two or three months later, he flew in a couple of Hartge technicians to install this monster motor. I think all said and done, he'd dumped over $100,000 CAD into the car. Rich bastard. One of about 30 cars he owns.
4. You do realize that Ferrari and Porsche's supercars are super expensive because they get super stuff on it, right? If Honda were to put P-Zero on the NSX and make it standard, no doubt it can pull 1.04 G and more on the skid pad. In fact, if you want to compare Enzo and Carrera GT to Japanese cars, you must compare them to the JGTC race cars, as that would put them on a more level footing, and even then, the JGTC NSX's are running on V-6's. PS: GT-R prototype has been "officially" unveiled? The design is starting to grow on me. 337947 I just saw the Prototype...not sure if I like it yet....probably looks better in real life. Nice models by the way...nice and clean.
5. Hey boys and girls, long time no see. Seems like it's been forever since I was here. As for the NSX, it's not for sale....not bored of it yet, even though it's killing me financially to keep it. If you're like me and don't make much money, you can still get an NSX.....just be willing to throw away your future and any hope of getting out of debt. On a lighter note, I just got a brand-new set of Advan A032Rs for it....lovely tire....so sticky. My first gen Civic is what I drive everyday now. Gas prices are a nightmare but my Civic happily does not guzzle as much gas as the NSX. I have to admit, I have a sick addiction to cars. The other day, I was at this new shop that started importing R32 Skylines into Canada and I must say, I was tempted to buy a third car (with what money, I have no idea). They go for about $10,000 - 25,000 CAD, depending on condition. Yeah, I need another car like hole in the head....but not overly expensive. Model cars? Yeah, I build some. I posted this picture about a million times...I think most people here probably get sick of seeing it, but here's one of them:
6. Man, that low-viz paper Monster looks awesome. Funny though, if the Monster were real, it doesn't matter what color it is, you're gonna see it.
7. I don't know about Robotech, but last year or the year before, there was a 1/1 scale Valk pilot helmet that was going for $1000 or something like that...can't seem to find any pictures though. Searched the main site and couln't find it listed under toys or models.
8. I just saw pictures of Macross con 5 for the first time. How in the hell did you get Mari Ijiima to go? Did you drug the poor girl? Friggin hell, if I knew she was gonna be there, I'd have flown down there....where ever it was held.
9. Man, I hope the hands will be available seperately. It'd be shitty to buy sets of armour just for hands.
10. Holy poo, that's awesome....
11. They look awesome, can't wait to see them finished...except one little thing. They look too happy.
12. Must be nice to be rich.
13. It would be nice to see some more pictures of this model/toy. Someone was supposed to be detailing one of these years ago on the old forum, but I don't think they got around to it, or posted any pictures of it.
14. I saw this guy a couple of weeks ago showing off and almost t-boning a truck.

1/48 CANNON FODDER!

This page is from either Hobby Japan or Figure King and in it, there is no mention of the word Limited Edition or "GenTe" Kanji pronounciation Noel Defintely wasn't Hobby Japan....some magazine I was flipping through at Tsutaya. Sorry, don't remember the title...might have been Figure something....
16. That would be my guess as well. It has the appearance of a rather-large-but-partial set that would likely be extended by CGI. What other purpose would an incomplete 1/1 Yamato serve? It's a movie set... Here's proof... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451845/ Oh, not enough proof?... Here's more... http://www.yamato-movie.jp/ Still more... http://www.asahi.com/english/Herald-asahi/...0505140120.html http://www.oshipee.com/omami/e-frame-photo.htm and here are some GREAT shots of the 1/10 model...(under Warships, click on the first image.) http://www.oshipee.com/omami/e-frame-photo.htm So, definitely a movie, I wonder if it will be subbed and released anywhere but Japan? Oh, and at the bottom of the Asahi link, it tells you where you can go see the 1/10 model..and eventually, the 1/1 model! Thank you sooooo much for the clarification. That's all I wanted when I started this thread...just a little more info on the picture I found, not a huge debate/pissing contest on which country produced the most powerful battleship. Wow, they've spent 600 million Yen on the model that's only 2/3 complete! One part of the article caught me by surprise: "Never had I seen such a huge film prop. The noise of the guns as the war scenes were being filmed-anti-aircraft guns, machine guns, and the huge 46-cm main guns boasting a range of 42 kilometers-was so overwhelming I had to keep my hands pressed to my ears in order to stand it. " They wouldn't have gone to the trouble to reconstruct working guns would they? He's obviously talking about pyroteniques used in the filming right?
17. Like when they built that huge mock-up of the Titanic for the movie? There is concrete, but where the ship curves, there appears to be wood planks being used as a floor. A little off topic, but what do they usually do with such huge movie props like the one used in Titanic? Are they usually destroyed after the movies done? I've always wondered what happed to the Millenium Falcon and all those X-wings and Y-wings. Anyway, back to the topic, guess no one here's translated the Japanese yet.
18. That's pretty cool...I've never seen that before. Do they only do maps of Canada, Continental USA or other coutries as well....didn't seem to find one.
19. So was it a hoax? Was it photoshopped? What's with the picture? Can you read the text? What's it say?

1/48 CANNON FODDER!

Found this article in a magazine the other day:
21. Anyways, back on topic, I picked up that copy of Model Graphix on my way to the airport so here's a pic of the article....can anyone translate?
22. I'm in Japan right now and I was flipping through the latest issue of Model Graphix and there's a tiny article of this monster. The article is mostly about the 1/10 scale model in Kure shipyards, but there's also this color pictre of this 1/1 scale Yamato at some shipyard! In-farting-credible! Im looking all over the the place though and I can't seem to find any pics or articles online....I've even got my girlfriend looking on the Japanese sites and can't seem to find any evidence of it.....can anyone here help?
