  1. Clearly presented? Ok, let me spell it out for you my son: I said "I doubt it's a minority, most of us just keep quiet because it's getting old" - This means we don't care anymore. You said "The silent majority don't don't care for M7 one way or another" Most of the haters probably don't care anymore, but truth be told, I think a lot of us just feel unwelcome here now because the minute we spark up a personal opinion on 7, we get ripped to shreds. If you don't like M7, you can't play here, you're a troll. I've been on this forum for a few years now, and some jack-hole called me a troll because I said I didn't like 7. Anyway, this thread is evolving into another M7 debate. Wastegate 13, my opinion, ignore all this crap and go ahead and watch 7 and watch MF. Formulate your own opinions and don't base them on what you've read here.
  2. Uhhhhh........isn't that first part pretty much what I said? When I first joined this forum, most threads were about SDF Macross, DYRL, Mac II(oooo.....blasphemous), Mac Plus, some of the games, models and toys. M7 hadn't really gotten around yet. The flame threads regarding 7 picked up just as the flame threads over HG were just dying down, and over the years, those nasty threads about M7 are now mostly gone. There are still HG debates that pop up once in a while but do I participate in them? No, don't bother...do I still hate HG? Yep. Now let me point out that I never divided fans into "lovers" and "haters", although now that you've pointed that out, I have my doubts that the completely "neutral" fans out there are the majority. I said the "haters" are more likely to be the majority, and I still hold to that opinion. I'd start a poll to prove my point, but that would be stupid. M7 has been around long enough now to at least have circulated to most Mac fans by now. How can you not have an opinion on it???? If it's part of the fantasy universe that you're a fan of, you gotta have an opinion on it. What, you are so completely on the fence that your opinion is absolute zero? Is there anyone in this universe that can be so purely neutral? What are you, Marvin, from Pulp Fiction? Before I found this forum, I thought I was the biggest and probably only Macross fan in my country...it was great to find so many other people who were fans of Macross. But just recently, I've discovered there's a possibility that I'm not a Macross fan at all, since I don't like everything Macross.
  3. Sorry to jump into this a little late, but Phyrox has a good point, if the guy didn't take well to Zero, it's not hard to put two and two together...he's going to hate 7. But by all means though pal, watch 7 and decide for yourself. I did (way before reading any reviews or hate-threads on 7), and those are hours of my life I'll never get back. As far as minority of 7 haters.......I seriously doubt it's a minority. Most of us just keep quiet nowadays because it's just getting old. Hating 7 is about as fun has hating HG(which used to be really fun, haha!)....just not worth the aggrevation.
  4. Haha, I kind of know how you feel....I have no idea where Macross is going nowadays........the male leads are way to nancy and some of the female leads are way to jb for my liking...wtf....still, I'll give these movies a chance. Maybe it will change my outlook.
  5. Nice dio, dare you weather your sdf up now, you know, couple of blast marks, holes, bent panels? Sort of like when it first crash landed?
  6. Looks awesome, next project - 1/100 or 1/200 scale of spy ship from mission "Aoi Kaze" with minature Vf-1J to go with it.
  7. You can still get it on amazon.jp.co, gonna get the wife to order vol 1 and 2 for me and have it sent to her folks in Japan...she'll pick em up for me when she goes back next week.
  8. Woah, that's awesome man. I'm not a huge Mospeada fan or anything, but one thing I felt was definitely missing in the toys and models that were available were the baddies. I'm surprised that Mospeada fans were able to put up the absence for this long. Finally someone's getting around to making them....cool. Looking forward to seeing your work done, and I hope you don't just stop with the Iigaa and continue to make other enemy mecha as well. Good luck!
  9. I have the Hikaru version....it's awesome....be nice if someone made the rest of the valk to go with it.
  10. It's kind of cool how they finished the tail fins so glossy. I think most of the time people finish them flat black or semi-gloss black. I know it's not exactly what you want in a military application, but it kind of reminds me of restored WWII planes for airshows.

    Latest custom.

Hey Kurt, pretty sweet customs. What do you charge for one of these customization jobbies?....or is this something discussed in a PM? How tough is the paint after it's all said an done, will it chip and scrape easily if I transform the thing once in a while, or does it hold up pretty good? My guess is a lot of these questions have been answered in the past, seeing as how you've been at this for quite some time....sorry for all the noob questions.
  12. Just finished watching Yamato Resurrection. It wasn't horrendous or anything, but wasn't great. It was worth watching for the scenes with Yamato in it, but I wished there were more. I watched it twice in a row, then went back and watched some of the battle scenes about half a dozen more times. The opening scene when Yamato broke out of the ice really moved me, wish the song was done by the original singer, but overall, it was still pretty moving. The first time I watched the trailer, with just music and no singing was enough for me already...epically awesome. I hope they make more movies, or TV shows, but I heard the movie didn't do so well in the box office (which is too bad since this is the first Yamato anime in what, 20 years or something?)....seems like they're running out of ideas for stories. This is kind of corny, but I think it'd be cool if they resurrected Musashi to fight along side Yamato. I know it will never happen, and I can't even think of a decent plot that would lead to something like that, but it would be cool to see the sister ships in space. The scenes from the Pachinko games are still pretty epic for me, and I hope the battle scenes from the live action movie are at least as cool as the scenes from the Pachinko game.

    Yamato 1/60 Regult

Well, a detailed 1/60 version does seem completely out of reach for a lot of us, but if there is a demand by the masses, Yamato would be negligent in not filling the supply. If they don't someone eventually will. It may not happen in the near future, but someone will do it eventually. 10 years ago, did we ever thing we'd see a Valk in 1/48 that perfectly transforms? I think the closest thing we had to something that big was the 1/48 resin kit (locked in fighter mode) that ran oh, about $400 USD or more....back then. Yamato came and filled that demand. Same thing will happen here......I hope.

    Yamato 1/60 Regult

Uh, I think it would be $hitty to be that big and have no interior and no pilot. Even Robocrap's Matchbox version has an interior.
  15. Nice! I'm still really surprised I haven't seen much activity here in terms of 1/48 Hasegawa builds. I figured as soon as that monster came out, there would be a million threads on it.....Has WM Cheng even started one?

    Yamato 1/60 Regult

It's beautiful and I want one. I'm not in the right tax bracket to afford it, but if I was, I wouldn't hesitate. It looks incredible. So, Yamato has gotten into the "very Expensive Collectables" market.....well, they always were right? The $1,000 helments, the $2,000 SDF1s, and now regults for $400 or whatever? Why are people surprised and so angry? I don't get upset that I can't afford to buy a $1,000,000 Mclaren F1. Imagine hearing someone say "I'm so sick of Ferraris costing so much". If you can't afford it, it wasn't made for you, deal with it, and appreciate that it even exists. I'm just glad that someone's making these toys because it means that there's enough interest in Macross to do so.
  17. Yeah, I was wondering that myself. This thread hasn't seen much action, I figured there would be tons of pics by now.
  18. Can Captain America make one for less, assuming he's even willing?
  19. Maybe it will be a boring movie about the creators of the boardgame....or something like Jumanji? Either way, it's ridonkulous.
  20. Started to watch a cam version (pretty good version), got about 20 minutes into the movie and decided to turn it off. It was worth suing to get those 20 minutes of my life back, I would do it. I can't give you a review on the whole thing, but the first 20 minutes were hysterically stupid and lame. Story, acting, EVERYTHING SUCKED.
  21. Seems like it's blocked in Canada too, oh well, wait for the torrent.
  22. I've never been on deck of a real big battleship, but the 1/1 scale movie set for the film "Yamato" was a pretty good substitute. I wanted to stay there all day and just soak it in. I'm really looking forward to seeing this new movie.....so glad that Hollywood didn't get their rat-claws on the rights to make it. Someone mentioned a live-action Macross Frontier? Is that the pron version Cosplay Frontier?
  23. Wow, are people still playing this game? This game's been out since the beginning of time! When this game first came out, I remember buying it from some Chinese CD/game shop! I started a chain with some other members where I copied the game, sent it to another Macrossworlder and made him promise to send it to someone else! I don't know how far it got, but this was way before downloading a game (that big - at the time it was too big to transfer) was feasable. I haven't played it for ages, maybe I should try it out, would it work on Win7?
