Live Action Space Battleship Yamato
peter replied to capt.actionjackson's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Haha, can't wait for a proper subbed one? Wait for the HK/PRC bootleg with crappy Chinglish subs...shouldn't take too long. Hey Kronnang Dunn, is there any more to that image you're using for an avatar? Peter- 450 replies

Any progress shots of this awesome project? Haven't seen anything since it got pinned =(
-
Wow, that's cool. I wonder if anyone's built any dios with completely thrashed cannon fodders. That would be awesome in 1/48....
-
Hi Hiriyu, Thanks! I got it up and running an now I'm happilly reliving my 80's childhood! Peter
-
Soo......can your next project be the VF-1? Someone's already made one in 1/24 scale so maybe you could build a masterpeice version in 1/8 to match my die-cast cars?
-
Dammit, I just went over my money situation and I really can't afford any toys/fun stuff until August......I really, REALLY want one of these......and the thought of FP possibly coming is really messing with me. ....please make more in the near future.........
-
Sorry I didn't jump in on the first run, but I was wondering if you will be making a fast-pack version? If you are, I can at least plan my finances a bit better and save for it.

This might be old news, but Bandai's got a 1/500 scale movie version out. Here's an image of it next to the 1/350 scale one they made: Personally, I like the sculpt of the 1/350 scale one better, but both are nice in their own way. Mechtech, care to tackle another scratchbuild? Maybe you can one-up Bandai and build a 1/200 scale Space Battleship Yamato for us fans here?

The Amazing Spider-Man, on Blu-Ray/DVD Nov. 9, 2012
peter replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think they should have waited another 10 or 15 years to do a reboot....way too soon. -
Hi Hiriyu, thanks! I will give it a try myself first, and if I get stuck, I'll fire a PM your way, thanks again for the offer! The first and only time I saw this game in the arcade was maybe 20 years ago. I remember I dumped 10 bucks worth of quarters into the machine and played it over and over again! Haha, back when arcade games used to cost 25 cents!

Hey, thanks for the info. Damn, have to wait till I get home to check this out....work computers.

Wow, talk about attention to detail. I just looked at some pictures of the Club-M kit and you're right about those changes.....holy cow, I never noticed before. Now that you mention it, the DYRL canopy looks a lot more updated than the TV version, and MTF canopy looks even more updated....thanks for pointing that out, and nice render by the way. Hopefully I can learn about some other differences that are often overlooked.

FURIOUS OVER NEW CONAN (Conan the Barbarian remake)
peter replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I might watch a an download......might. I'm just curious how bad this thing could be. If it's unbearable, I can always delete it and watch the original version to regain my sanity. I just can't imagine this fruitcake getting away with telling me what's best in life. It can only be done by Arnie (or at least a CG version of him): -
I know this is a really old post, but do you still have that inbit mech in 1/48 scale lying around?

Years and years ago, there was a Macross DYRL arcade came...it was a top shooter and it was pretty cool for the time. Then a few years ago, you could download it and play it on your PC with an emulator. Everything worked except for the sound. Does anyone here still play it or have any idea if there's been an update to the emulator? Does the sound work now? Sadly, due to my lack of patience and hand-eye coordination, I found it more entertaining than Macross VO.

FURIOUS OVER NEW CONAN (Conan the Barbarian remake)
peter replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm not tired of steroid athletes if it fits the role. Terminators and barbarians are suppose to be grotesquely huge....maybe not Incredible Hulk huge, but with decent mass. They looked good in the comics that way, and Arnie was perfect for both roles. This mascara wearing nancy boy is the bastard child that Conan didn't want and would have fed to his dog. Also, it seems like his vocabulary is too large for a barbarian. Personally, I think the amount of talking Bewulf (13th Warrior) did was perfect. -

You know, you've put in only about 5 years of your life into this, I really don't see the problem in putting in a few more building the Prometheus to go with it, maybe do the main bridge as well? Maybe redo the whole thing in 1/100 scale since there's lots of valks out there in that scale now. In all seriousness though, awesome work, and I sincerely hope you make it your life's work to build the rest of the ship (the entire SFD-1).
-
Nice Job as usual, there's a 1/24 scale Valk over in the model thread, care to tackle one of those?
-
Hi Charliewinds,
Sorry, I just got your message...nice to meet you! I don't know many other Macross fans around town.

Prolly old news, but this is cool: http://www.originalprop.com/blog/2009/08/25/twitter-arnold-schwarzenegger-tweets-about-conan-movie-prop-sword-from-the-governors-office/ BTW, the new Conan movie makes me want to cry. It should have been done entirely in CG with Arnie's likeness
