The Transformers 3 Thread--A Michael Bay Thread
peter replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's complete garbage? The series that started the whole thing is complete garbage? That's interesting......and not particularly the most intelligent thing I've heard someone say about the original series. I'm not mad at anybody. I just hate the new designs, and figure there should be more transformers, less humans in a movie called Transformers. Clearly, you're the who's not happy, lol! -

When does Prime turn into a crocdile? Arm stapled to a building? WTF are you talking about? The cartoon was aimed at 5 yr olds? So anyone over 5 can't watch them? I suppose comic book series by IDW was also aimed at 5 year olds? Was the animated movie aimed at 5 year olds? Bay has the intelligence of a 5 year old, with no business making films for fans of the original series. Generation 1 charecters had great designs and didn't need to be all turned into metal shards. And though the original series may seem childish to us grown ups by today's standards, at least they got one thing right, the show was about TRANSFORMERS, not Spike (or his stupid parents), or his bimbo girlfriend, or some elite group of soldiers. Bay's movies are filled with explosions and it's like watching one big trailer....that's all his movies ever are. You want sex drive, follow Megan Fox in her new porn career. -

FURIOUS OVER NEW CONAN (Conan the Barbarian remake)
peter replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I agree, it wasn't made with us in mind, just like Transformers.....Speilberg and Bay are after a whole new market. But even though it ain't for us, this movie still looks super crappy, a B movie with effects at best...the acting is.....well, they would have been better off getting Peter North or Ron Jeremy to play Conan, even their acting is better. I'm really surpised this movie isn't straight to DVD/BR. -

Still sour from ROTF? I'm stil sour from the first movie, never mind the second. In another thread, Lucas was accused of having no standards because he listens to his fans (cutting Jar Jar from ep 2 and 3). Here is a perfect example of a director not listening to the fans. Speilberg should have fired Bay along with Megan Fox. Have any of those three morons even watched Transformers? -
Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
peter replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Good arguements from everyone, but guess I'll have to watch more because I still find events in ROTS hard to swallow. As far as clones disobeying orders, there was an episode when one clone turned traitor...I was half asleep when I watched it and as I'm old and my memory isn't very good, I don't remember the details., but if a clone can turn traitor (he must have been ordered to stand down at some point), I figured the rest would be able to refuse an order as well? Or maybe that one clone was just misfiring (even in cloning there could be mutations)? Or maybe I'm just overthinking everything....just my nature to want a story to make sense.- 1217 replies

How much did the Q-Rau cost? It shouldn't be too hard to mass-produce a Regult and keep costs reasonable then right?

If Speilberg fired Fox (who's a $hitty actress anyway) because he thinks she's anti-semetic, that's lame because lots of people refer to their boss as Hitler. Hitler's name is still associated with nazis, but it's also become a way to say your boss is a dictator....hell, even Seinfield makes Hitler Jokes. However, if his reasoning is because of insubordination, then yeah, valid point. Fox publically critizised her boss, and that's a no-no in any work place. Either way, she's better off in porn.....except they should never, have any shots with her weird toe-thumb. -
Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
peter replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Holy cow, that is so true....never really thought about it that way. Luke senses the conflict in Vader, and manages to bring him back. I'm going to start season 2 tonight, what about that animated series? I saw a couple of trailers and the animation just reminds me of Droids.....and it seems like there hasn't been any confirmation of where it fits in as far as continuity is concerned? Might just confuse my feeble little mind, haha!- 1217 replies

I'm horrified....I knew of it's existence, but never bothered to waste 2 minutes and 50 seconds of my life like that until now....thanks for that. Haha, my two cents before this thread gets locked.

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
peter replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I just started watching this new series and just read through this thread.....talk about confusion when I heard there was another series with the same name, except it was animated, not CGI. I haven't watched any of the animated series, is it worth getting into? Got through season one (of the CGI series) and so far, I like it. It's nice to see that the clone troopers have personality, emotion, and even compassion at some points, but at the same time, I'm thinking how the hell does order 66 (or whatever the order is called) ever manage to happen without the clones feeling hesitant or guilty? Are their minds wiped? Because when they turn on the Jedi, it just seems too droid-like and to me, basically nulifies all that character build up, and wasting their attempt to showing the "human" side of the clone troopers. Another thing I've noticed is there's no way this Anikin could become Darth Vader. How can someone who has had his own youngish Padawan kill children? WTF? If you ask me, I think Robot Chicken had it right. These are not complaints, but I hope the rest of the series can explain more because I just don't understand right now. Two things that kind of irk me so far: Jar-Jar is in the series and the droids talk too much. Other than those two gripes, I like the series so far.- 1217 replies

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2
peter replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Stupid question here, is the series called "Vintage"? I've been out of the Star Wars Toy loop for about oh, 25 or 30 years, but I remember my Luke Skywalker action figures didn't bend at the elbows. -
I found it. The scene was pretty disappointing compared to some concept images I've seen. With today's technological advances in CGI, you'd thing they'd just CG Hamill's face (or at least part of it) with him assembling the lightsaber with the force......a screwdriver? C'mon! Weaksauce!!!!
-
Does anyone have any idea what this scene is going to look like? Is he at a desk, magnifying glass, a pair of tweezers, with an Ikea lamp, piecing it together or is he using the force and all the peices are sorta floating in the air? I saw this awsome painting/drawing somewhere of him in a cloak, his face barely visible, and only the faint glow of the light saber parts floating in front of him.
-
I saw tons of those in Japan a couple of years ago but didn't buy them because they looked kinda crappy. Yeah, I know, what do you expect for such a small scale, but just wasn't for me.

That's a nice shot....wish there were more pictures like this in the picture threads.

It'ds been years since the photoshoot with Honda Tuning, and actually the car was off the road for about two years...mechanical and cosmetic issues. Anyway, I got ol' Rusty back a few weeks ago all refreshed. The fenders were so far gone, I decided to take a short cut (cut out all the rust) and add fender flares. More pics of the build-up here: civicsb1.blogspot.com
