If I had millions, I would gladly commission you and a team to build a 1/10 scale SDF (both TV and DYRL versions) to rival the 1/10 scale IJN Yamato in Kure. Then I'd commision a 1/10 scale IJN Yamato for my own and a 1/10 scale Space Battleship Yamato to go next to it.......just imagining 1/10 scale Strike Valks to go with it gets my nipples hard.

Me too! Good thing I read the previous few posts before blinding posting. Yeah, not sure if I like the manicured beards here. But I've said this before....too young looking, too lean, and to clean. Skinny hobbits with shoes. Maybe they'll look better on screen.

I want to study the art of the tactical carbine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_0WcOUE1G0 They run the course like a martial art, with a lot of basics and footwork. I study iaido and surprisingly, I found a lot of similarties between ancient sword techniques and modern tacticool shooting. I wouldn't be surprised if in 400 years, there will be some school studying Magpul Dynamic's carbine course as an ancient martial art.

Well, that just confirms that Bay's a hack, haha. If it was a remake, it would have confirmed that he's really bad at re-imagining/re-telling an existing story - a la Transfomers. Either way, he's a knob gobbler.....a knob gobbler that makes buttloads of money, but a gobbler de la nobs, nonetheless.

True. Whenever possible, I think it's better to learn from someone, in person, but I understand that for some places that are remote and good instructors are hard to come by, online learning or learning from books and videos is your only choice.

No worries, my comments about Youtube weren't direceted at anyone in particular.

Why you should NOT learn martial arts from youtube:

Wow, talk about a day of ressurecting old threads...I was going to post my experiences until I noticed I already posted them, haha! Still doing iaido and sado...here's our school's info: http://musojikideneishinryu.blogspot.com/ http://clubs.ams.ubc.ca/clubs/iaido/ I think there's a godan floating around here from the same school...Chris, you reading this?

Woah, The Island....I could have sworn someone said it was a remake/reimagining of Logan's Run....so, it wasn't? Bay was trying to pass it off as a completely fresh story? Wow, that blows.

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014
peter replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's okay, you can use my name, I know what I said. Now, why would I mention the flatness of the Earth? Because it sounds as primitive as this statement "So, yeah, in the end, aliens should look like us, at least in the overal shape." which was backed it up with theories of alien physiology based on a *repeated for the 10 millionth time* HUMAN BRAINin an EARTH ENVIRONMENT, that followed OUR PARTICULAR CHAIN OF EVOLUTION. Now, based on some of your later arguments with JBO, you seem alot more intelligent than I assumed which was based this post: I'm not saying aliens that look like us is impossible, but to say that aliens should look like us because **insert ridonkulous theories here*.......are you serious?!?!? Do you really believe that? Please tell me you're kidding or at least generalizing and that you only beleive that this is possible, but not necessarily true to all (if any) alien life. I mean, you make it sound like intelligent life, alien or not, can only exist in humanoid form. If not, I apologize for the misunderstanding. Those theories would make sense if an alien had a human (or human-like) brain, on a planet with Earth-like qualities but who are we to assume that intelligent life out there has such a brain? I mean, they might, and such a similar planet may exist, but can't we consider the possiblity that intelligent life could exist in another form? Transformers have a humanoid shape with eyes, a nose and mouth, which is beyond silly, but when I was a 5 year old, it really didn't matter. This whole argument is a bit silly and pointless to be honest, because it's not very likely that either of us will ever know the answer in our lifetime. "Aliens should look like us" was your statement - I say it's possible, but not necessarily true.- 950 replies

Wow, that's some really cool $hit man, thanks! Yeah, I'll definitely check out that website, but thanks for the info anyway I just finished watching season 3 and it definitely left me wanting more. I really, really dig this series....sadly to say, almost more than episodes 1,2, and 3 I think....well, I have to go back and watch the films again, but I think I may wait. There was a time I watched all the films back to back, over and over again, and maybe I got tired of it, so I was thinking I'll wait a while....maybe after season 4 is complete or maybe if Lucas ever gets that live-action TV series off the ground. PS: It's never useless, that's why we're all here!- 1217 replies

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014

Haha, I still can't believe we're still talking about this.... Personally, I've come to accept that Klingons in Star Trek TOS, looked exactly like humans with a little shoe polish smudged on their faces. It's entertainment, so I don't need them to justify it. The general public are so close-minded, they probably wouldn't accept the fact that aliens might loook drastically different from us. 50 or 60 years ago, people couldn't accept an Asian person playing an Asian on TV or in the movies (David Carradine, Kung Fu, haha!) There's nothing wrong with it, just don't try to tell people it scientifically, or theoroetically makes sense, without some solid references to back it up. Most of the "theories" I've heard are based on physiology of an Earth-borne brain....what if an alien brain functions perfectly fine at any temperature? Would it still need a head? Would the head have to be mounted on a neck between two shoulders? What if an alien had multiple brains? What if the brain wasn't one solid mass, but fluid and ran through the entire body? Christ, the debate could go on forever....why? Because as far as I know, scientists have never examined any alien biologicals. And nevermind that Transformers aren't biological. My car has a "brain"....the ECU is buried underneath the dash....my car's "nose" is under the hood and it's "mouth" is near it's a$$hole. No "head" to be seen. The bipedal humanoid works on Earth, and that's how we evolved....it happened to be this way....I suppose it could happen somewhere else in the galaxy, but don't base theories of alien life form configuration on the function and requirements of the human brain. It's beyond ridiculous. You may as well say the Earth is really flat. Haha, people trash Lucas sometimes, but gotta give him credit for occasionaly coming up with alternatives to the two arms, two legs, bi-pedal alien.- 950 replies

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
peter replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Also, got a question about the fighters....okay, so the clone troopers are using that thing that is starting to look like an X wing (with two less blasters and two extra wings) and y-wing looking bombers.....Eventually, when the repulic turns into the empire, imperial forces use tie fighters.....when is the transistion then, because the "rebels" end up using the X wings and Y wings.....I don't think tie fighter pilots fly with astromech droids either right?- 1217 replies

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series

Hang on, did Tarkin survive the destruction of the 1st death star? I didn't know that. Yeah, I could see that Palpatine didn't really have Vader as a 2nd in command and more like another pawn to be used.....a pretty bad-ass pawn haha! I have two episodes left, can't wait to see them, but crap, how long do we have to wait till season 4? And is season 3 going to leave me hanging and begging for more?- 1217 replies

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
peter replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yep, done season 2, almost done season 3....awesome how Anikin saw his future, vader's mask vaguely visible in the cloud of smoke, Imperial March playing in the background.....so coollllltoo bad he forgets it all. It all makes sense Qui Gon saying he will bring balance to the force. He sure does, haha because until Anikin came along, the good side was dominant and there was technically an imbalance....along comes Anikin, phucks everything up for a bit, and the good side and the dark side are sort of balanced for a short time till they wipe out all the Jedi, Yoda dies...the Dark Side rules....then Anikin then kills off Palpatine in ROTJ, so both sides are leaderless.....balance. Captain Tarkin! Haha, how on earth he gets Vader to obey him in ANH his beyond me. Is Tarkin closer to Palpatine than Vader? I thought Vader becomes Palpatine's right-hand man....in ANH, seems like Vader is one of Tarkin's button men. Still, it's really, really cool to see that they are trying to connect the dots between episode ATC, ROTS, and ANH.- 1217 replies

This series is awesome....everything is all starting to make sense....I can almost start seeing how Anikin ends up going all kinds of wrong....killing younglings though...that one I'm still iffy about but I'm sure it will make sense in season 4- 1217 replies

I'm sorry to have peed in your cornflakes Dr. Gui but, FACTS can be scientifically established.....theories are just theories, especially ones that have more holes than Bayformers plots. Your experts are weak-sauce. It doesn't matter if what I think doesn't interest you (clearly it does), but when you spew silly notions like it makes sense aliens (non-biological robot aliens to boot) should have a humanoid configuration because of facts based on a human physiological brain, expect to get called out on it. Don't feel bad if you believed them though, it's easy to get mixed up between science, science-fiction and science-fantasy. "Shut your mouth"? Well, I never...I revoke all my previous apologies to you, haha!- 950 replies

Thanks! The only body mods are the fender flares, and it really wasn't by choice unforunately. The car's older than dirt and the fender's didn't do so well with Canadian winters and salted roads. It was either $2500 in body work, or $100 fender flares...I'm poor (and cheap, haha!) so you can see how I came about my decision. Yes, there's a fart can on there as well, but that was also not by choice....Honda doesn't make factory mufflers for this car anymore....and besides, it sounds more like a gas trimmer than my farts =) My car didn't come with A/C, but I think some of them did. The summers don't get raging hot here, so all it really takes is roll down my window, reach over to the passenger side (all 10 inches or so, haha!) and roll down that one and I'm set =)
