peter replied to capt.actionjackson's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think Andromeda's got a cameo in this vid: Would be nice to see some fleet battles.....maybe Yamato gets rebuilt, or was warped to safety....I dunno, CRAP! NEED MORE YAMATO!!! Or I could just wait for the next generation Pachinko game to come out with some awesome cut scenes- 450 replies

Live Action Space Battleship Yamato
peter replied to capt.actionjackson's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Uh, sure, haha, that's what I meant....I don't d/l anything either. But in all seriousness, I think this movie would be worth getting in B/R. The movie wasn't perfect, but I liked it. They could easily have made more movies, sort of like Star Trek.....but maybe they didn't have enought confidence in the franchise so they finished this movie the way they did. I'm still hoping for more movies.- 450 replies

Live Action Space Battleship Yamato
peter replied to capt.actionjackson's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I take it the e-bay versions are pirate versions? If that's the case, why not just d/l it? The one I got wasn't a cam/telesync. Anyway, I'll probably pick up a blue-ray version of this movie. BTW, has anyone here bought any toys/models related to the movie yet?- 450 replies

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
peter replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hey Keith, haha, no I haven't....I really liked CW, so I'm worried I won't like the animated version.......but okay, I've got an open mind about it so I''ll give it a try. Anikin seems really winy in AOTC, and seems to have matured in CW....then in ROTS, the acting seems so artificial at times. I mean, there were moments where the converstaion seemed pretty genuine - liked that scene where he thinks Obi-Wan is about to rag on R2, and Anikin defends R2, but there were so many scenes where he just seems so out of character. I like the CW version of Anikin better I guess.- 1217 replies

MickyG's Yamato VF-1S Unpainted, Unassembled Kit Build
peter replied to mickyg's topic in The Workshop!
Wow, looks friggen awesome man, great work so far! I always wondered about these painted toys....I guess you'll never really be able to play with it too much without shredding up the paint right? Basically, pose and display right? I can't imagine even just a single transformation without scratching it up someplace. -
Awwww.c'mon guys, stop teasing...At least build a 1/10 scale Valk after ur done here.....1/24's been done, we need bigger. And if EXO's gonna do the pilot, you're half-way there! I could talk to some ppl I know that are into the whole cosplay thing....maybe they can make the uniforms! Call it a collboration project of united Macross Fans. Delegate someone to the legs, another person to the arms, another to the fast packs etc, and put the monster together at the next international Macross Convention....then mass produce.

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
peter replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ah, gotta love talking to myself in this thread, but I'm really happy with the Clone Wars. There's so much character building in it. I started watching the movies again and I'm starting to see some of the jedi I recognize from CW, that had no speaking parts in the movies. Too bad, because I really got to like some of them in CW. PPL are talking in the SW: Old Republic thread about the graphics in the trailers/cut scenes of the game, and it would have been really, really awesome if CW was done in those types of graphics. I know, there's no budget for it, but wow, would have been awesome to see Anikin, Snips and the others done with a bit more "realism".- 1217 replies

FURIOUS OVER NEW CONAN (Conan the Barbarian remake)
peter replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, I'm not sure folks are getting bent out of shape because the movie is returing to the source (books). It's just that nobody really envisioned Conan as a mascara wearing, metrosexual surfer with manicured facial hair. I haven't read the books, but did read some of the comics and this fruit-cake does not look like : It's true, Arnie wasn't a 100% accurate depiction of Conan either (too clean and not the right hair), but at least he had the bulk and a face that was sort of the right shape -
Man, that is sick. I loved the green one....The best thing about old cars is, they never go out of style =)
-
Oh, woops....I was thinking the shape of the wing is the same, but yeah, you guys are right, the wings don't run all they way to the back of the aircraft on the f-16.

I'll watch a cam version of this movie...don't want to go, and end up thinking the best parts of the movie are in that trailer with the kid. -
I know what you mean. Someomes I see a C4 Corvette with INDY500 Pace Car decals around town and it looks pretty dated...even worse cause some of the decals have peeled back. This Mustang is a one off though, and will probably be a garage queen that sees daylight a handful of times in it's whole life.

From the people that brought us Transformers........are they serious?!?!? Has this thing been greenlit? Haha, I hope the same people do a Teletubbies movie.

FURIOUS OVER NEW CONAN (Conan the Barbarian remake)
peter replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So, there's still hope for this movie? I'm hoping they've finally come to their senses and Mr. Mascara will be CG'd out with a complete CGI Arnold, or maybe the first trailers were just a ruse and they wanted to throw us all off, then when we go watch the film, we see a CGI Arnold in all his glory. Not likely, but one can always hope -
The F-16 has delta wings too doesn't it? Copyright law? Figured General Dynamics would want some product placement, unless Lockheed Martin has the sole rights to be a Transformer now. There was a Harrier-type aircraft in ROTF? I'll have to watch my dvd-rip again.
-
Is Starscream an F-16 now? Kinda looks like an F-16 but the wings are a bit too narrow. Maybe one of those SAAB fighters? Or is a new fighter from GM, haha!

FURIOUS OVER NEW CONAN (Conan the Barbarian remake)
peter replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I was going to say the same thing, seems nothing like the trailers we've seen so far. The snow scene was reminicent of the original film when the snake dudes come to slaughter the village. Then he grows up to be that mascara wearing surfer dude? Unreal. -
If I had millions, I would gladly commission you and a team to build a 1/10 scale SDF (both TV and DYRL versions) to rival the 1/10 scale IJN Yamato in Kure. Then I'd commision a 1/10 scale IJN Yamato for my own and a 1/10 scale Space Battleship Yamato to go next to it.......just imagining 1/10 scale Strike Valks to go with it gets my nipples hard.
-
Me too! Good thing I read the previous few posts before blinding posting. Yeah, not sure if I like the manicured beards here. But I've said this before....too young looking, too lean, and to clean. Skinny hobbits with shoes. Maybe they'll look better on screen.

I want to study the art of the tactical carbine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_0WcOUE1G0 They run the course like a martial art, with a lot of basics and footwork. I study iaido and surprisingly, I found a lot of similarties between ancient sword techniques and modern tacticool shooting. I wouldn't be surprised if in 400 years, there will be some school studying Magpul Dynamic's carbine course as an ancient martial art.
