I'm sorry man, that wasn't very nice of me. I don't know much about the SE-R, so I should bad mouth it. All I know is that it's some sort of special edition of the regular Sentra with an "R" badge similar to the GT-R, and at the time it came out, Nissan tried to emulate the R-33/34 front grill, and the gold brembo's were an option, but that's about it. Oh, and different fabric for the seats. Did it come with a different motor than the standard Sentra?

Never read the book....do these musketeers ever use muskets or is it all sword play? Are they military? Mercs? Goons for hire? I suppose I could wiki it, but that would be no fun.

Well, you'd think a car of this calibre would come with Brembo calipers, or at least calipers mannufactured by brembo and relabelled. Hell, if a crappy Nissan Sentra SE-R has gold brembos as an option, this thing better come with something that slightly resembles forged alluminum calipers instead of a generic chunk of cast iron/steel found on a dump truck.

A 3D version of "Top Gun' is coming in 2012
peter replied to rdenham's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I hope they CG out all the fake Migs. -
The brake calipers look a little ricey. They look like oversized Corrola calipers painted red. Maybe it's just the concept.

The unfortunate reality is there will always be reboots, of almost everything under the sun. This has been happening since before Shakespearean times. There will always be new takes on old stories.... However, I doubt we will see a decent reboot of Highlander in our lifetime.

Did Vader have enough midiclorians in his body left to use the force that effectively? He lost a good chunk of his natural body...unless the machine parts regenerate midiclorians, haha!

You know, that scene always irked me. The way it was done, was so brutal. It should have been more violent like: Fast forward to about 3:45

Live Action Space Battleship Yamato
peter replied to capt.actionjackson's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I thought the twins were in the second movie? Were they in the first? I don't remember. Anyway, the toilet humor was pretty stupid....glad the Anylizer didn't have to uncork his fly to pee on any baddies. On the same token, in Yamato, way too many men were crying like little school girls/boys. I dunno, maybe it's just Japanese movie culture. I asked my wife about that - if Japanese men cry a lot, and she says only in movies. Even Musashi cried when Otsu gave him a few rice balls.....wtf.- 450 replies

Amazing minature model of the Hamburg Airport

You know what would be awesome? Valkyries landing and taking off at that airport. -
That was a nicely done vid.

Holy cow, that blew me a way, thanks for posting! Virtually perfect....except that one bit the Emerites 777 backs up with it's wing over a fuel truck, haha! I think MechTech should expand on his Daedalus and build the rest of the Macross along with the rest of the island, all with minature angel birds flying overhead....the battle might be a bit too much -
Is the 1/48 line doing well? I haven't seen a whole lot of builds lately, so I'm wondering if Hasegawa is considering any new releases.....I hope so though.

Live Action Space Battleship Yamato
peter replied to capt.actionjackson's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Haha, well, I didn't say it was a good movie, but I guess some people think so. I just like looking images (still or cgi/live action) of the ship. The launch could definitely have been done better. I really didn't like the way they zoomed into the bridge. For a childhood Starblazers/Yamato fan like myself, it's always nice to see renditions of the ship. I hated the 2009 animated movie overall in terms of story and musical score, but I still go back to watch scenes with the ship. This movie, I wasn't big on the story, or the way it played out in the end, but I'll still go back and just watch scenes with the ship. From a personal perspective, I liked it more than Crapformers, Battle:LA and trailers of the new Conan movie. Your right though, my personal opinion doesn't make it a better movie. I liked the movie because there was an attempt to portray an image of what Space Battleship Yamato would look like in real life (based on the design from the animation). Transformers didn't manage to bring the G1 characters on to the big screen as I hoped, that's why to me, they sucked all together (plot, story, designs....everything). Guess I was reading too many Dreamweave comics and getting my hopes up. So anyways, to me, that's why I liked Yamato more. A better movie? Well, from a financial standpoint, I hate to say it, but I think bayformers did way better at the box office right? Conan though....wondering if I should even bother watching a cam version. Agent One apparently went and wasted two hours of his life on in, in a theatre...that blew me away.- 450 replies

Live Action Space Battleship Yamato

Well, I think most of the claims that this movie was better than Bayformers is because they didn't butcher the design of Yamato. Most here will agree with you that the acting was overdone and the plot needed work. Yamato didn't look like a porcupine made from J.A. Henckels, that's the main reason it was better.- 450 replies

Live Action Space Battleship Yamato
peter replied to capt.actionjackson's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It definitely could have been better, but it's better than nothing, and in ten years, when they're ready to do a remake (not a reboot - Yamato does not need to be redesigned) hopefully that will be better. And, as long as you acknowledge that Bayformers sucked the sweat of a dead man's ballsac, I'm happy =). Personally, I liked the scenes from the Pachinko games almost as much as the movie.- 450 replies

There's one major difference...Yamato wasn't put in a blender and re-designed.....only the baddies.- 450 replies

Meh, torrents and youtube for me, haha!

Your right...I can only imagine Lucas in there, insisting on a Jar-Jar icon in the corner or something stupid like that.

Haha, I dunno man, I think at the very least images you see in an HUD would be a nice touch.....c'mon man, you gotta agree the plans to the Death Star are brutal...the ones during the briefing, and the ones that are downloaded from R2? I could have drwan those with Logo back in 1982
