  1. Nice build so far, damn I wish I bought this when it was on sale
  2. Personally, I think if Bandai deems this new line successful, they might start producting baddies or other mechs in the same scale. Then we'll have something to talk about here.
  3. Ask him nicely to re-issue it......and ask for a Strike Package + weapons set
  4. Woah, never seen this kit before. Looks good, incredible detail. Post pictures when you build it.
  5. Yes, and if they redid SDF Macross, I envision a $hit-ton of mechanical porn. That Playstation game that came out years ago and some incredible animated sequences and the valks were incredibly detailed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0P5e3Qt2lM And back on topic, not just Yuki, but all the females are done nicely
  6. Just watched episode 10, wow, this series really rocks. I used to watch Starblazers when I was a kid, then in college, a buddy lent me his VHS collection and I couldn't ge through it because the stories were just dragging on and the animation was really dated by that point. This Yamato 2199, I'm glued to the screen and can't get away. The animation is incredible, the ship looks good and exactly how it should from various angles, no short-cuts or sloppiness in the animation or action sequences. I'm glad they re-did the story, yet kept a majority of the original desings (the ship, Analyzer, Dr. Sado, the characters for the most part). It's original, but it's updated at the same time. They could easily do this with SDF Macross, and I think they should. The Pachinko games that came out recently had some nice, updated animation sequences, and these could easily be applied to our beloved Macross.
  7. http://www.theverge.com/2012/12/17/3776250/reactions-to-the-hobbit-in-HFR-3d-48fps http://movieline.com/2012/12/14/hobbit-high-frame-rate-science-48-frames-per-second/
  8. Call me old fashioned but I didn't like the high frame rate at all. I was thinking about walking out right at the beginning, but decided to stay and watch the story. It looked like everything was in fast forward, and added a quality to the film that made it look like a cheap PBS documentary. I liked the movie enough to want to watch it again in regular 2D or maybe 3D IMAX, but watching it in 3D High Frame Rate UltraAVX really sucked Saruman's old-man-balls for me.
  9. it's nice to hear a positive review about this film. I really wanted to see it as well, but had second thoughts when I heard all the hate posts. I guess I'll go see what it's all about. I liked the book, how bad can a movie be?
  10. I heard that they were planning on making a series of films, but I just don't see the following it once had.
  11. Sorry for digging up this old thread, but I just saw this trailer yesterday. I didn't even know they were making a live action! I read some of the manga, sort of enjoyed the series, really, really liked the OVA. This is coming out a bit late isn't it? I mean the hype about Kenshin sorta died out a more than just a few years ago right? Anyway, regardless, I think I'd like to watch it. Not really keen on the flying and running sideways, but I guess they had a lot of that in the series. Which is why I liked the OVA the best. It was dark, and the fighting was a bit more realistic,
  12. Thanks for posting a review. Heres' to hoping they publish a proper art book!
  13. The uniforms are painted on. I think I saw a nipple during the first warp.
  14. I know. I'd expect this kind of failure in a cheap Chinese/HK knock-off/pirate DVD with some poorly translated subtitles, but not for an English-speaking country release. This is just brutal.
  15. Yep, found it first on Amazon.ca, then I checked amazon.com and it was there as well:http://www.amazon.co...s=pacific+battleship+yamato So lame! It's basically the North American release of the live-action 2007 film: http://www.amazon.co...&sr=1-2&keywords=yamat
  16. Just surfing on Amazon and found a North American release of the live action movie Yamato (the WWII battleship, not Uchuu Senkan Yamato)...how stupid are they to get the image of Yamato wrong?
  17. looks alright to me. Don't think I've ever seen the Enterprise underwater so I'm curious to see what that's all about. Once scene looks like it's rising from the water, another looks like it's going in. Either way, hope the Enterprise is going to get a refit because I'm still not a fan of the secondary hull being placed so forward.
