I haven't read the comics, but apparently something happens to Glenn that I won't be happy with, and Daryl's not even in it.

Haha, good enough for me, I'll check it out again. I sort of lost interest after Lori bit it. Not because I liked her character, but it was sort of the climax for me and I figured that everything after might seem sort of bland. But I love Daryl and Glenn's characters so I'll try to get back into it and see where those characters go.

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014
peter replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yes, crappy compared to studio films, yes, crappy compared to what fans could do today, but those were done some time ago, and just look at how tech has caught up? All I was saying is technology will be at a point one day when some fan will have the ability to create a film that rivals the studio productions, and I'm willing to bet someday, someone will make a film that pays a lot of homage to the original character designs. But for now, we've got Bay doing his thing, and that's fine, he makes a $hit ton of money for the studios, so why not?- 950 replies

So, you're saying that a comic book about Captain Holocaust hunting Jews is perfectly alright because it's not the real world? You're right, this is not the place to vent about it, because I think it should have been locked in the first place. Lock a thread over someone who lists why they hate M7, but allow a comic book that praises the Chi-Comm government that slaughtered milliions, that's just gravy man. Next time I see a a person who had family who was a victim of 9/11, should I roll my eyes and say "I understand you have rage, get over it"? The very nature of this comic book is political, so why isn't this thread locked? Where is the line drawn? What if Neo-nazis, the Taliban and the KKK had comic books? Can we post them here and talk about the comic, and not the content? Ho-ho-ho, it's just a comic, it's not real. Well, it was pretty damn real for at least 45 million Chinese that died as a result of this government. Forty-five million, do you understand this number? Let me put this in fantasy world language for you, that number is a lot higher than all the orcs and men that died in Lord of the Rings. As an American, as yourself how you would feel if there was a Manga or comic about Tojo merrily bombing not only Pearl Harbour, but other American cities as an alternate reality You wouldn't have to ask yourself that because not even the Japanese would come up with something like that, it's absurd, just like this comic book.

Well, when you have a comic book that glorifies a government that’s responsible for the death of tens of millions, you start to wonder if maybe someone wrote a comic book about the Nazis or the Taliban maybe it would get the same support? (Mao:45,000,000 Hitler:12,000,000) And have we completely glanced over the fact that this comic book is about POLITICS??? So, we're not allowed to talk about politics here, but we're allowed to talk about a comic that's about politics, that makes sense. Personally, i'd like to be able to talk about gun control laws and how stupid they are over in the weapons banter thread, but since it's political, we can't talk about it. Why aren't we allowed to talk about politics? Why can't we talk about religion? Because we don't want to start topics that offend people right? Well, as a person of Chinese ethnicity, I find it offensive that this comic book even exists, let alone the fact that it's being actively promoted here. I find it as vile as a Jewish person would towards a comic book about Captain Holocaust. If we're allowed to talk about this comic book, then I think we should level the playing field and open the floodgates to allow other politcial and religious discussions, including why people hate Harmony Gold, Robotech and Macross 7. The same arguement could be made of any such topics "If you don't plan on supporting the neo nazis, please don't come into this thread, it may contain material that could be offensive to you"

Bandai 1/72 fully transform able VF-1 plastic kit for Macross 30th Ann
peter replied to Vi-RS's topic in Model kits
Man, the CAD snapshots do look a lot better than the original prototypes, but it still looks a bit off to me. I've not nothing against any new kit that comes out of the VF-1, the more the merrier because that should result in competition (and hopefully not flood the market) but this one's got some ways to go. I used to build models, tons of them, but every since the Yammies came out witht heir 1/48 line and now 1/60 v2 line, I've been too lazy to built kits anymore. Sure, most kits look great in a single mode (Hasegawas are practically flawless in their respective modes), but transforming kits....well, Yammi's already got their 1/60 verision of a transforming "kit" based off their toys. It's going to be pretty hard to top their 1/60 in terms of appearance, durability and function. If Bandai is successful with this new model line, who knows what other Valks, Destroids and baddies they might consider making, 1/72 is a nice manageable scale to have all sorts of other mechs. -
Man, you sure build them quick. Awesome, can't wait to see more pictures

Hmmm...maybe you're right and I remembered wrong, could have been internal thought processes, I'll have to read the books again. There's a thread here about the talking animals in LOTR and Hobbit though: http://the-hobbit-movie.com/forum/topic/beorn-in-the-movies/page/3 And the consensus seems to imply that some of these animals talked in the books....

Haha, you can't talk about politics here, but for some reason, you can talk about a comic that is TOTALLY POLITICAL, yet if you critisize the comic for what it is - printed POLITCAL matter, you get your post deleted, censored, if you will, just like the very government this comic book is about. Why this thread wasn't locked from the beginning is beyond me.

If you haven't watched Generation Kill, go watch it. It's got some pretty realistic radio chatter.

That's true. M-21991 will eventually have to be refit replaced, just like the Enterprise. With that line of thinking, I think it could work very well. This could be two or three generations of ships later...maybe call it the M-21991-B, haha!

The Wolverine FILMS (X-Men Universe)

Must *ucking hurt, haha! -
There are a few photos floating around online, but I don't have any decent shots.

No, not really, the orirginal DVDs and BD discs from Japan end up in otaku shops here in Canada and the US, and people like me buy them. There are online versions with subtitles, but most fans will buy the originals. Crappy movies like Transformers, I will not buy, nor will I watch in theatre. If I watch those at all, they will be streamed or downloaded, haha! Anyway, I think Taksraven hit the mark 100% when he said: I think "Robocrap" Live-action will come out looking exactly the same as Bayformers. I say go ahead, make it, it's not Macross, so what do I care? It'll probably come out like an abomination of Dragonball Live-Action crossed with Transformers. It will suck (in my mind), but it will make a $hit-ton of money. And about Uchu Senkan Yamato live-action.......you're right, it could have been better, but it's a start. it was definitely better than anything I would have expected from Hollywood. Rumours were that they were planning on using a completely different battleship and name. But who knows, maybe in the future a better film could be made. If film history has shown us, remakes are always done. Films about IJN Yamato have been getting better and better, with the last one back in 2005. It was alright for it's time, but could have been a lot better. BUt that being said, it was light years ahead of any previous films about IJN Yamato. Akira, don't even get me started, might as well title it "Ted" if they still plan to use the cast and location of the story that they had planned a while ago. Anyway, I'm not really fussed about this Robotech movie being made one way or another. It would be nice to see photo-realistic live-action VF-1s in action, but I can wait for it to be properly done....haha, maybe by another Pachinko company in 5 years or so.

Haha, I'm sure they will hate it or just won't care. Surprisingly though....... I was wondering when you were going to chime in, haha! Not all of us who gave support to the South American "fan" film will be disappointed though because some of us may not even watch it.....if it ever gets off the ground. The solution is simple to satisfy all: get Macross made into live-action in Japan, just like Yamato. We don't care if it's for Japanese distribution only, it will eventually end up here somehow anyways, and some fans out there will sub it.

Nah, he just hates me and anything I post, haha! Probably still pissed at me from another thread. The pic's from some artist from Deviantart, just someone's imagination that deserves to be trampled on, that's all. It's not official or anything, but I kind of like the design. I would never want to see it replace Uchu Senkan Yamato that we all know and love in the Yamato universe, but I don't find it unpleasing to look at.
