Haha, I'll actually go see this movie.....eat some popcorn, have a few laughs. At least I won't feel ripped off and all pissed off like I would if I went to watch TMNT or any MB Transformer movies.

ditto, would be cool to see some completed pics! Anyone else here try to build one yet? I have one, but I'm too scared to build it.

Wow man, welcome back to Macrossworld! I hope you keep up with your Macross works!

Well, I can't imagine Hamill in any dynamic lightsaber battles, but who knows, I never expected Yoda or the Emperor to be in any either, but they CG'd the $hit out of them and had them flying everywhere. I think if they did CG him to do a buch of acrobatics and wushu-style sword fighting, it would be epically stupid. In the original trilogy, they based the sword fighing on Japanese-style swordplay, but then the new trilogy they went with the flashier wushu-style (Ray Park, wushu guy). I'm not for or against either, I've studied both, but FFS, keep it consistent.

I wouldn't count that as politics. It's a history lesson for many, so don't sweat it. Anyway, back to the clip, it was a nice touch either way. It would have been cool to see some updated animation of that scene. I can't recall there being any decent animation about the IJN Yamato.

Google my friend. This ship was definitely not in the animation: And I knew I'd seen this image before. It was in the Robotech comic:

Yeah, in reading "A Glorious Way to Die", it didn't seem like the US side was very concerned with the ettiquette of giving the sinking ship and it's crew any sort salute. They were still pretty pissed at the Japanese at the time and I read that some US fliers didn't hesiate to hose down (with bullets) survivors after the sinking.

I vaguely remember talk about an SDF-2, and I think I've even seen pictures about it (maybe it was in the Robotech comics?) but I have absolutely no recollection of another Macross in SFD Macross, let alone one getting destroyed. But I swear I've got this image in my mind from somewhere.....what does it look like? Can anyone help me out with this vague memory?

I think it looks better than the last incarnation. The head doesn't sit as high, which is good. -
Yeah, that's true. Their characters were supposed to be older though, but I see your point. VII could pick up long after the original characters are past their prime and in their senior years. I just remember some images from some comic books that portrayed Luke (shortly after Jedi and they looked pretty cool) that looked more mature, but still very powerful. I think he was standing in front of a fallen AT-At.

The movie's already a write-off because Bay's at the helm anyway, so I don't think it really matters who plays what period. If Megan Fox is in it, great, here's to watching her spread a little turtle waxd on dat ass. Her acting talent is just about on par with porn stars and b-movie actresses anyway. Haha, hilarious!

Yeah, me too. I really don't think there's any salvaging this franchise and a reboot/remake is just going to confuse people further.

Well, I think most people can accept that they are older, just not THAT old, haha! Looks like life has been chewing on his face. Deage to middle age maybe, at least so they don't look like they're living in the Jedi Retirement Centre as senior citizens of the republic.

Is this thing really going through?? I lked the first movie, not gonna lie, but the second movie was confusing to say the least, especially when the third movie came out and then the TV series. There was hardly any continuity in the whole franchise that you could almost label everything that came out after the first movie a reboot. It actually boggles my mind thinking about how each film connnects to the other.

When there was only the holy trilogy, I would have said Vader, but I'm gonna have to say Terminator from the first film. He was just a cold, soul-less, heartless killing machine with no remorse. He was the grim reaper. He was only fun as a good guy for the second movie so I was glad they brought him back in Salvation to kill again.....too bad he didn't actually kill anybody. Haha, Vader:

Haha, that's true, why didn't he just punch his heart out? Anyway, back on topic, Hamill is not saying no....I would be open to having most of the original cast come back, but they'd need something more clever than just CG magic to bring their youth back.

I dunno, I thought it looked okay. It was the image of Arnie at the most iconic point in his career (long, 80's style hair and everything). Compound that with the fact that he doesn't say a single word, just gets down to business and tries to terminate Connor....for me, seeing Arnie's image exactly the way he looked in the first film was the best part of the film. I'm sure it can be done a lot better now, but how did they do it in TRON? Did they have a mold of Jeff Bridges head from the 80's?
